If you have Celiac.. you ARE SAFE!!! Ordered steak over a salad, only because their DESIGNATED GF FRIER was down. Usually you can get Gluten free breaded chicken cutlets or French Fries, wings and EVEN FRIED CALAMARI (seasonal) !! I had explained that I have Celiac (not just a fad diet) to the server. The salad came out with croutons! (I was sweating! I was like oh Nooo!!! Anyone who has Celiac.. you can relate!! ) I explained to the server that I will get sick if the same salad comes out with just taking the croutons off! Well, she (Leslie) explained to the kitchen what happened..I was really nervous, because I get SO SICK! Food was great! Had a large Pretzel and spring rolls as the appetizer. For dinner, the chile (with the added fresh jalapenos) was delicious, the hamburger was loaded and also delicious. Great choice of draft beers! Great ambiance! What a nice place for dinner and or drinks! read more

My favorite place to eat at when I'm extremely tired and hungry. The service here is very quick-- I've never had a bad server. The Buffalo Mac n cheese bowl is massive and gets straight to the point. Their Octoberfest menu is also great. Additionally, I will never pass up a big pretzel. Love coming here, love sitting in the train car interior even more. read more

Solid 3.5 stars! I ordered the Louisiana Chicken Wrap. It was a good balance between spice and nice, not too much heat (and that's saying a lot coming from a wimp like me!) They have a good menu and do a very unique thing in which they will give you fries, onion rings, OR A LITTLE OF BOTH! That was a nice addition to my meal. I will definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food for a decent price. read more

I went there last night and the food was ok but had a terrible server named Leo. He rarely came back to check on us. After we ordered cappucino, he came back 5 minutes later to tell us the machine was not working. Had the rum cassata cake and it had no flavoring of rum. read more

I hiked the entire Bronx River Greenway and just kept telling myself there would be a burger at the end of it - and there was! A delicious cheeseburger with bacon, onions, aioli, and other good stuff, I just had them throw on any topping that sounded good. Went to Valhalla Crossing with my girlfriend and thought it was pretty great. We were on the bar side which is really nice. Has that old school bar feel. The restaurant is right next to the train tracks which is pretty cool. The service and food was very good! We had a wrap and the BBQ ranch chicken salad. Both were very good and humongous! Great service, good food, big portions moderately priced. This place may seem small from outside, but when you get in, there are plenty of room inside. They also have a bar section on the other side so it's a nice separation! Food is pretty good. We sisters always get lemonade when we visit restaurants and I have to say this is one of the best lemonades I had. Went here to grab a little din-din after work. Menu is quite extensive from apps to entrees, some good irish-ish type eats, sandwiches, wraps, salads... like a nicer diner and reasonable prices too. Mucho a beers and pear cider, score! I ordered the shepards pie and TimTam ordered a jack cheese n avocado burger. Food came out within 15 mins or so but we were deep in convo about life and i didnt notice the time much. I noticed the fries werent all that hot and neither was my pie. it was warm to hot if you will but not piping to where i had to blow it [hah] and let it sit to cool, which is usually how i expect my goods. overall it was not too bad, the train going by every so often was fun but also gave me slight anxiety that it might plow into the building. This place really boggles my mind. The food is always SO GOOD but the service is always SO HORRIBLE. 3 Stars because that's the midway of 5 for food, 0 for service. No matter whether it's packed or just few few patrons, good luck getting the wait staff to check on you for drink refills (which are free) or if the food order was correct. We get more attention for the bus boys. My latest experience was last night..walk in to what seemed to be an annoyed hostess having to seat us,we sat in the bar area at a booth, 4 people at the bar, 1 booth already had 2 people seated and eating. 10 minutes goes by, no one had come to the table yet so I go back up to the hostess to see if anyone was going to help us, and she grumbled something to a waitress that was behind her. She finally came to take our drink order and thankfully we knew what we wanted to eat or we'd probably still be waiting there to have our order taken. A guy, his baby and wife come sit behind us, who apparently knew everyone working there. They were immediately greeted by the crabby woman bartender who came out from behind the bar, took their food and drink order and they were practically eating at the same time we got out food. The only time our waitress came back to us was when it was time for the check and then proceeded to ask if we wanted drink refills. The food is that good and large portions, that I will probably continue to torture myself by going back in the future. Update 7/18/18: went back last night and I feel like someone at The Crossing read my review because the experience was awesome from beginning to end. So I left my passenger in the car in the train station parking lot, double parked while I went in for the order. $20 for the burger with cheese and onion strings..$15.95 plus $2 for a tiny cup of blue cheese dressing on the side. Burger was cold and the bun was huge compared to it, onion strings were on the side although they were supposed to be ON it, onion rings that come with it were cold. Food is amazing here! We usually split apps. The pretzel, coconut shrimp, and mozzarella sticks are really good. Can't go wrong with some onion rings. If you have kids who like to watch trains, ask for the room that has a view as they go by. Service is always friendly and great. read more

2.5 stars, but location gives it the extra .5. The food is average and the servings large. The menu is just huge and if they narrowed it down the food might just be awesome. The chicken tenders for the kids is way crunchy, so be prepared to cut it down to chewable sizes for the little ones. Friendly service, great for kids. I came here for a school event and was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere! I didn't even realize there was anything like it close to campus, but I'm glad there is. The menu consists of standard bar food fare. The portions are extremely generous, and the sweet potato fries were a hit! I can't wait to be back to try more of their menu items! Avoid ordering food from here to go. I work in the area and decide order some warm comfort food. Ordered online and my nachos and French onion soup were just disappointing. The presentation alone reflects the quality of food your getting. Nachos were bland partially cooked and thrown into a pizza box. French onion soup was color of oily chicken soup but with lots of onions. The soup was delivered in a small salad to go container. Overall I am sadly disappointed spent almost $30 for it to be thrown out because wasn't even edible. read more

I've been here a couple of times and the food is always good. the portion sizes are always pretty large for the price, the service is great. my only complaint is for other patrons, please don't let your kids watch their tablets on full volume. why?? just why, every single time i come here there are kids watching tv shows on full volume. it competes with whatever radio the restaurant has on, and makes it impossible to enjoy my meal. i get that kids make noise, id rather hear kids cry or scream for a second, i expect kids to make noises. i don't expect to go to a sit down restaurant and hear bubble guppies and some video game on blast. i get its unrealistic to be totally un annoyed by neighboring tables, but please consider others around you when you whip out these devices. okay, I'm done being a buddy buddy. this place is great for hanging out, not for romantic dates as mentioned before its more of a family establishment. read more

I hadn't been here in a while before yesterday, but an old friend and I decided to meet up here for coffee and dessert. The place was empty, but it was a Tuesday at 4. Our waitress was nice. My friend got a cappuccino and I got a regular coffee. My coffee was lukewarm and the cup was really small, which was unfortunate. We split the brownie sundae, which really was as huge as they advertise. Definitely more than enough for two people to share. The sundae was good. From what I remember, the food was good here too, but it's been a while. Seems like a solid place overall. I did always think the fact that it was an old train car was pretty cool. read more

Hadn't been to this restaurant in quite some time and decided to try it again tonight. We were disappointed. We had wings for an appetizer and they were okay, but a bit pricey. I had the brisket special and was disappointed. First of all why serve mashed potatoes and corn, two starches? The plate was brimming with food,but the meat was too thick, too chewy and had no taste. The Shepherds Pie was good, but nothing special. Our waiter disappeared, never checked on us. The hostess was very nice and got us our check and wrapped up the leftovers. My family always hits up this joint after a visit to Mt. Pleasant. It's very comfy and easily seats large parties. The locale is perfect for my train loving nephews since it's literally feet from the train tracks. Greta location aside there isn't much there to really warrant a visit. Went on Easter Saturday for brunch with family. We've driven by Valhalla Crossing so many times, but never dined there. I always thought it was part of the metro north station. The restaurant is very rustic and homely looking. The bar room looked like an old barn structure with the beans in the ceiling. Loved the decor. We sat in the train car dining room. The servers and waitress were very nice. Here's a breakdown of what was ordered: Calamari $12 - It was nicely presented. The calamari was good, but I thought the marinara sauce was a bit watered down. Buffalo wings $12.50 - It looked good. I didn't try it, but my relatives looked like they enjoyed it. Came with carrot sticks and dipping sauce. Burgers - They were ginormous! Way bigger then I expected. I ordered the Louisiana burger with avocado. Burger was described as having a Cajun rub seasoning, but I didn't taste it. The bacon was super crispy. Ordered the burger medium well, it was cooked perfectly. My cousin ordered his Johnny Burger medium rare and his was cooked perfectly also! I had to take a minute to contemplate how to eat this gigantic burger and in the end I could only finish half. Gave the other half of the burger to my mother. The onion rings were super big and crispy. Even though there was only several onion rings on the dish, it was more then enough. Sweet potato fries were delicious, you have to pay an extra $2 to substitute. Shepard Pie $17 - My mother thought the waitress was bringing out a birthday cake when this arrived at the table. It was big! Lots of mashed potatoes pipped on the top layer over minced beef filling. Everyone on the table got a slice of the pie. Philly cheesesteak $16.50 - We winded up taking this home as there was too much food to finished. It was fully loaded with steak. I thought the steak was a bit dry. Thai chicken salad $14.50 - Very large. Looked good. I didn't try it. Louisiana Chicken Wrap $15 - My aunt winded up taking this home. Compared to all of the other dishes, it looked very plain, presentation wise. Salmon over rice $20 - This looked very pretty and colorful. There were pieces of mango incorporated in the dish. Lots of salmon. My relatives really enjoyed it. Overall I think each dish could have feed two people. Price wise, I thought it was a little bit expensive, but the portion size was very big. read more

The best burger that I have ever had. The signature burger was amazing.The fries were average. The best Arnold Palmer that I have ever had. The Arnold Palmer is freshly made. The Mac and Cheese was delicious. It needed a little hit of pepper. The cheeses used seemed to be of the higher quality. The mac and cheese was not oily. The Atomic Wings are just that Atomic. They are very spicy. If you do not like spice do not order them. The wings have great flavor in additiion to the heat. All in all I would deginitely come back to this restaurant. read more

Stopped in for happy hour with my girl after work tonight, what a great spot! First time here so I was pleasantly surprised by the half priced wings/pizza (among other delicious choices) which we got. Mushroom pizza was thin crust and crispy... hit wings were crispy & served with lots of celery, carrots & blue cheese just the way it should be my guiness was poured correctly and my friends iced tea lemonade vodka drink was good too. We lost our appetite fed it to dogs .a well. Terri is the best chef. I am glad you think its funny. When we left there 3 booths empty. We been going for moms since they were 7 .
