My main concern was water damage from a waterbed which warped the boards. I was also concerned that the sanding would leave a ton of dust everywhere. Their "dustless" sanding system really works. And the refinished floors were beautiful. Brian left me 1/2 gallon of poly to finish the raised floor (stairway) of the front, coat closet. That was enough poly to top coat all the doors and door frames I was refinishing. I screwed up at the end of my woodwork finishing and left the lid off the poly. I used a higher end stain for refinishing and figured their poly would work just as well to finish the job (just the FRONT DOOR!). It didn't. My "higher end" poly was awful to work with and the end finish wasn't acceptable to me. Brian praised the poly that he uses and that the finish won't yellow. I will praise his poly as a great finish to work with. In general, Brian was very respectful of my house, did a beautiful job, and uses quality products. I very definitely recommend him and would use him again.

Due to some unforeseen health issues, I have not been able until now to get this review completed. Brian, the owner is the one that does all the work from start to finish. He is a real craftsman and cares greatly about the quality of his work. I had water damage from a leaking ice maker and about 14 boards needed replacing completely. Brian had to cut out the old boards and replace with new unfinished Oak boards. Brian also suggested using a different stain than the one we had decided to use. Boy, was he right. The stain he recommended was a much better choice. Brian was always on time each morning and worked each day until each step in his process was finished. Brian had to make several other repairs to the floors before sanding and staining all the main floor. Brian was extremely careful not to get any stain on our new carpets. We couldn't be happier with his quality of work, craftsmanship and dedication to making sure we were 100% satisfied. Brain is easy to work with and willing to handle any additional items, or areas that might need special/extra attention too during the job. Thank god for bonus's and COVID money, as that day finally arrived just 2 weeks ago! At the recommendation of our neighbor, we scheduled a quote with Valley Hardwood Floors with Joe - the main lead/bossman. He made a few measurements and got our quote back to us in just under 24 hours - at a killer rate (just $2k for carpet tear up/removal/foor prep/installation of new floor, baseboards and caulk!!). So as soon as our flooring was delivered, we asked for Joe's team to get the job done, which was available the following week! Although Joe stated that the team would show up bright and early at 8am Monday morning, 8am came and went without a word. Around 9AM, we called and Joe explained they were finishing up another job and would be over early that afternoon. Upon arrival, I was surprised to see just one member of Joe's crew (Sarvino!) ready to work, and quickly realized he would be doing all the work for us. We walked him through what we wanted done, and after a quick call to Joe, the ONE man slayed the day....and the next three. Sarvino worked his butt off to rip out all the carpet, prep the floor, hand cut each floorboard for the entire lower level (closets included), applied trim and caulk - all within 3 days, by HIMSELF!! I was beyond impressed with his motivation, drive, attention to detail and ability to complete this monumental task all by himself! Despite the low rate, we compensated him for his great work and job well done! I was and still am beyond happy with the outcome, as our house looks entirely different! However, they didn't properly protect my house so my entire house was covered in dust including my HVAC and ducts. I notified Joe when my AC went out and he paid to fix it. Fast forward into the winter months, when I started up my heating system, there was still so much dust, it started a small fire. My heater then went out so I contacted Joe. No response this time since my bill has been paid unlike last time. Fair warning, they do a fabulous job with your floor but prepare to shell out extra cash to pay to clean your house, clean your ducts and fix your AC and heater. Joe paid for the AC to be fixed but I shelled out an additional $1000 for house cleaning, duct cleaning and heater repair.

And at this point I must interject that when I say "if you can get Chris Brandt to do your flooring" I do so advisedly. His is a one-man operation, and he seems to have, deservedly so, a lot of work. Now, we were not in any real hurry to get the project done. This was a good thing, because over a period of many weeks we had a great deal of difficulty in getting responses from Chris to phone messages (his voice mailbox is regularly full), to messages sent to his Facebook page, or to emails--both before and after we got him to come out for purposes of making an estimate. But if you can find a way to squeeze yourself in among Chris's other clients, you will find him to be a craftsman, almost an artisan, who takes great pride in his craftsmanship. He displays a good knowledge, gained by twenty years of experience, of what is possible and how to make it happen. He worked not only to restore the area under repair to its original condition, but to improve upon it. His operation was completely, astonishingly, dust-free--even the sanding. He carefully matched the tint and texture of the flooring left in place, so that it is, after a few days, nearly impossible to see the borders of the new wood and stain versus the old. He kept us informed about the time of his departures and arrivals. Oh, and we found the pricing on this quality craftsmanship to be at least very reasonable, and perhaps better than that.

Steven did a fantastic job fixing my uneven/damaged subfloor & installing LVP (COREtec) in two…read morerooms, a hallway, and on the stairs! He also installed new MDF for the stair risers (not painted yet in photo since they don't handle painting). Floor has no creaks in the rooms/hallway and looks beautiful. Pricing was fair and the best I could find in the area, and they were good about removing the costs for anything I handled myself (I removed old carpet and LVP, etc.) even though there were a handful of staples I wasn't able to pull myself from the stair risers. Just one word of warning, make sure you measure your floor space yourself--their measurements for the work were off by about 50 square feet, which would have made a big difference in the number of boxes of material I had to purchase. I think this was probably accidental from them including the bathrooms but given that _every_ floorer I spoke to provided inaccurate estimates it's best to just do the measuring/math yourself.
