VV is my current favorite nail salon. I've been here probably 10 times now and all but one of my experiences were fantastic. I tend to book with Wendy because she does a great job, but I've also done multiple walk-ins. Even when walking in, I've never had to wait very long. The owner is super friendly, the space is clean, they have a good range of colors to pick from, and pricing is typical. I like the vibes here, there's plenty of parking, and my nails always look great when I leave. I just realized this review was sitting in my drafts! I came to this salon based on multiple recommendations, and overall, I had a really good experience. My boyfriend and I both got manis and pedis, and the salon was bigger than I expected, busy, and well-run. The staff was friendly and professional throughout our appointments. I decided to go natural this time and just get gel polish. The shaping was nicely done, and the cuticle work was solid. The only hiccup was the polish color. I asked for a specific shade from their color chart and clarified it a few times, but somehow ended up with a different color than what I had in mind. After bringing it up a couple of times, I decided to just let it go and accept my fate . To be fair, the final color still looked good it just wasn't the shade I originally wanted. Overall, it was a minor issue in an otherwise positive experience. I'd still recommend this place and would definitely come back, just with some extra clarity next time (or maybe pointing directly at the bottle ). read more

We called and asked if they had room for three pedicures and two manicures and were told they had availability and given an appointment. We showed up at our appointment time and waited about 10 minutes until the three pedicures were taken to their chairs. At this time, one of the people in our group had water added to their pedicure foot bath, but not started, and the other two sat patiently waiting without being addressed for longer. About 45 minutes past our appointment time, I was taken to sit alone for my manicure while the other person in my party needing a manicure had to wait until a spot opened up... an additional 20 minutes.. we would have appreciated honesty and the ability to go somewhere else instead of wasting hours of our afternoon. In addition to the salon respecting my time, I also expect that the salon practice sanitation which unfortunately they did not. I expect that a salon use a clean nail file and buffer for each customer. If the salon has not been taught sanitary precautions, and specifically how nail files are porous and cannot be cleaned then that is concerning. Not being able to clean a nail file means they can pass along bacteria, fungus and blood-borne pathogens from one person to the next. I noticed that each nail tech near me had used nail files and witnessed them being reused on different people and added back to the pile. I asked for a new file for my nails and the tech acted surprised. She pulled out a box from the bottom of her cart and grabbed one. Then she grabbed the very used buffer to buff up the sides of the new file?? I also had to ask for a new nail file for the other person in our party as they also attempted to reuse one on them. Guys, nail files are cheap. This is 2026. I know you are busy but safety should come first. I experienced an attitude when I asked her to grab a new file for the person who's nails she was filing and she opened up what appeared to be a pedicure package because she had no new manicure ones on her cart. In addition, she snapped at me that the files on her manicure cart are new when they were very clearly scuffed up and I saw what a new file looks like that my tech grabbed.. they have a white chalky look until it's buffed off. Not sure what is going on in this salon but I was extremely nice and literally asked for a new file and was treated poorly due to this. Now about my manicure. It was fine other than my cuticles were not cleaned up,so I fixed them when I got home and I had to pick off the glue on every single finger that was left an absolute mess but after that, it looks presentable. The other manicure we had took 6 minutes in total because they did not get polish and basically did nothing. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

The manager is always checking in on clients and making sure everyone is happy and comfortable. They offer kids pedicures in their own small chair which is a great find! This place is usually my ride or die. However, my last two experiences here have been subpar. They called me and asked if I could come in 30 min after my booked appointment time. When I got there, I waited an additional 20 minutes before they started on me. The most recent time, I booked an appointment for 11:30 and they didn't get to me until 11:55. They did not have the color I wanted either. I initially wanted chrome, but changed my mind and did not get it. When they wrote my payment slip they still charged me for chrome. I saw the girl double check it before handing it the girl up front. Getting your nails done is a luxury. I spent $130 and felt like my time and money wasn't valued. I felt like I got cheated out of time and money and for that reason I won't be coming back. The amount of disappointment I have is astounding. I loved this place. read more

Got my nails done for my daughter's wedding on the Thursday prior to the Saturday wedding. I had scheduled a french tip manicure and was told (first) that my nails were too short for french manicure. Then they proceeded to do the french manicure after finally admitting it could be done and I said yes, can you please try for that look The manicurist kept REALLY pushing gel manicure. I said, no thanks and was told the white tip would "fall off" if I tapped my nail on anything. She continued to try to get me to do gel and eventually a manager (I guess??) came over and said the white would wash off when I showered, so the only thing to do was take all the manicure (polish) off and start again with gel. I said I'm fine with regular polish, so the woman finished my nails and was clearly not happy that I did not choose gel. By the way, my french manicure lasted through 2 showers and were well intact for the wedding. Also had a pedicure and was not asked which package I wanted, just given one of the higher priced ones. Woman doing both manicure & pedicure spoke maybe 2 words to me the entire time. I will never be back. read more

Came here on recommendation from a friend but was somewhat disappointed! They didn't have the OPI color I was hoping for (no OPI dip colors available in general). My nails ended up with white specks everywhere. When I asked the nail tech about it, she said it was "sparkles" but a) the color was not sparkly and b) the specks are not uniform as you would expect if it was part of the color. I don't get my nails very often but a friend recommended this place and I'm glad I went! You can make reservations online and they're constantly busy but huge so they can accommodate it. This was the first place I tried "dip" on my nails vs shellac and it last probably 6 weeks before the grow out was so much that I was worried about it peeling off and ripping my nail! Haha I made an appointment to get it removed and was there a while (not super fast to remove) but they were friendly. Hey guys. It's been a bit, but I thought I'd make this review on my all time favorite nail salon in Grand Rapids. Genuinely, it is amazing every time. I have had a quite a few nail techs do my nails, but my girl will always be Hannah. Hannah is the sweetest lil' lady and her attention to detail is immaculate. I will be completely done with a set, and she will make sure that my nails are perfect even after I paid. She does mainly simple designs so if you have a simple design in mind or even like a french nail design, she's your girl. The shape is always perfect and they last for weeks. Genuinely have nothing but good things to say about her. The ambience is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. They have free drinks which I love! In my opinion they have the most variety when it comes to nail colors. I always find a beautiful color every time! And the prices are generally affordable all around. Including take off, gel tips, and gel polish or powder, it's around 50 without tip. The set in the picture was supposed to be around 60 or 70, but I had a long wait for my girl and she didn't charge me chrome. I adore her so much. Please, do yourself a favor and go here. I have been here multiple times for pedicures. Like so many times that I've filled up some punch cards Their recent renovations are beautiful and there are plenty of pedicure chairs and nail tables. You can make same day appointments or book in advanced. They are always more busy in the afternoon and the downside is that often you may have to wait for your appointment even if you have a set time so do plan ahead to give yourself extra time. The ladies wear name tags and I've had several different techs do my pedicures and have always been satisfied. There are plenty of colors to choose from. They have always honored my requests for how to cut my nails or to use my own brought in lotion. Their foot massage is amazing! Currently the basic pedicure is $34 with credit card or $32 if you pay with cash. Tipping is by cash or Venmo only. The salon is clean and they use disposable liners for the foot basin, use new tools each time, wear gloves. So overall, 5 stars for coming in the morning, 4 stars for having to wait during afternoon appointments. read more

Came here as a walk in for 1 kid Mani pedi, a polish, and an adult Mani Pedi with dip on the Mani. I was initially greeted warmly and even though the place was busy there was hardly a wait at all to get going. This place has a nice upscale vibe to it and I feel I paid appropriately for the services I and my kids received. I appreciate that all of their nail services by default include at least some form of cuticle care and that it's not an additional charge. I will be interested to see how long the dip lasts that I had done. Typically mine lasts maybe 2 weeks, but my tech said hers usually last 3-4 weeks on her clients. I'm skeptical since I use my hands a lot and wash them frequently, but hoping it's true! I only have two complaints. The water in our pedi tubs was extremely hot. Like almost scalding. It was difficult to adjust the temperature down, the taps were either burn your skin off hot or cool. The other gripe is about tipping. If you pay by card you cannot add a tip to it. You must tip in cash or Venmo your tip to your tech. I just wasn't prepared for that, so make sure you get some cash to tip with at least before you go. read more

We had great manicures and pedicures during our visit. My husband had the standard mani-pedi and I opted for some add on's with shellac polish for my toes and dip for my fingers. This was a first time for me trying dip and it's not bad. It's a little thicker than shellac and so my nails look wider than they really are. But it's not as heavy as acrylic, which I do not like at all. The colors are supposed to match each other, but they are not quite the same. Close enough though, I doubt anyone but me will notice! Do not go here unless you want the worst manicure of your life! I have been going to VV nails for the last 3 years and have recommended them to countless friends. After my most recent experience, I will never be returning here. I went in for gel-x removal and a basic manicure. My nail tech, Kayla, was rude, unprofessional and as you can see in the attached photo, gave me the worst manicure I've ever gotten from a salon. We had discussed the color I wanted, OPI's Bubblebath, which I did not get for some reason despite stating that was the color I wanted 3 separate times. Halfway through the service, she got up and walked over to another nail tech, and proceeds to talk about me in front of me while staring at me. It was absolutely unacceptable and made me feel so uncomfortable as I've done nothing to warrant that and have been polite despite her giving me 1 star service from the moment I walked in. After my nails were "painted", Kayla walks me over to the dryer where I proceed to sit for about 20 minutes without her once coming to check on them. Finally after me staring at her, she walks over and checks my nails and says they're still not dry. I continue to sit there abandoned at this drying station for another 20 minutes. I finally ask the receptionist if she can check if my nails are dry. She checks them over and says that they're dry. I was getting a pedicure next so I head over to the chair just to look down at my nails 5 minutes later to see they're smudged and WERE NOT DRY. Absolutely ridiculous. As you can see in the photo, they are smudged, cracking, and look so sloppy. That photo was taken about 2 hours after leaving. They chipped immediately and were smudged and cracking. Even worse, on my drive home I lightly touch my nails just to see they are STILL NOT DRY. I was at the salon for over 2 hours, and my nails NEVER DRIED. I literally left there with wet nails. I ended up removing all the polish later that evening. The fact that VV nails, allowed me to walk out of there with nails looking like that was unprofessional and disrespectful of my time and money not to mention my NAILS NEVER DRIED DOWN. I was there for hours and still left with wet nails which was bizarre. I've never had such a bad experience at a salon and should NOT have had to pay for that service. I have been a repeat customer for several years now and have brought them business from my recommendations to friends and family. I'm sad that I will have to find a new salon as I used to love coming here but they've gone really downhill in the last year. Oh, and the other reviews are right about the online appointments. Don't bother making one, because you will still sit and wait for 30 + minutes while they continue to accept walk ins and get them in quicker than the people who made an appointment ahead of time. read more

I've been going to VV for 2 years now, and I can confidently say that they are the best! I've had my hands and feet done by multiple people and all of them are excellent, but Ashley is my go-to! She takes her time and makes sure that every nail is perfect! Plus her nail designs are AWESOME. Their recent renovation/expansion is beautiful and was much needed as they're so busy! The only thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to book an appointment to guarantee you can get in, and even if you have an appt you will likely have to wait a bit. My only negative comment is that because they're so busy, they tend to run a bit behind schedule, especially in the afternoon.
