Stopped in here this afternoon to have a shellac nail repaired (had gotten them done in another salon across town and I chipped one at work). After inquiring at posh nails across the street (where they would not paint one nail for me (offered to pay for the service telling them it was my fault and that I had not gotten them done there) Absolute sat me right down repainted the one nail and were kind about it not even wanting to accept money but I insisted they take it. I had gone to Absolute for the first time before my sister's wedding & liked it, so I kept going. I had gone a handful of times after that, but the last time I went I got a full set that took the lady about 2 hours to do. She filed the edges of my nails raw & 6 of my fingers bled. The design was close to what I wanted so I will give her that. I didn't catch this nail tech's name, but I normally had Nancy & liked her services, but the last lady I had just did a number on my nails. I have since found a different nail salon, but if I needed to go to Absolute I would. It is quiet in there, no music & the TV is muted. I found this place on a whim when my original nail salon I was a a regular at wasn't open. They have a lot of color choices which is great. I definitely didn't feel rushed. They do a great job and make sure you are satisfied. I added chrome to my nails and I highly recommend as they look so pretty and iridescent!! Definitely will be back! read more

I thought I'd finally found that "I always go to" place but this last visit just didn't do it for me. I got a mani pedi and my pedi felt rushed and effortless. One of my toes has that faded color look like they didn't evenly apply the polish and I didn't get the good scrubbing my feet so desperately needed. I also got a shellac mani and the person doing my nails did a good job and took their time, but also tried talking me into getting the "dip" instead. I did the dip for my wedding and while it lasted, it really destroyed my nails and also just isn't naturally feeling with how thick it is. I have been going to Absolute Nails for quite some time, I have been to many nail salons the last year or so because I moved back to the Grandville Area, over 2 weeks ago I was in a hurry and Van Troung did my nails, picked my color, did my eyebrows and has my next color already figured out for next visit, they are awesome, quickly she went above and beyond to make my nails look perfect, go there and just try it out you won't be disappointed. read more

The guy that did my nails didn't say one word to me, rushed, left with nail glue all over my hand, and was overall rude. The flowers he did look effortless and I'm not impressed one bit. My go to spot! They almost always have time for walk-ins, which is great. Every time I am here, I usually get a pedicure. They are very clean. They offer complimentary pop / water. The color ranges are just outrageous. They have every color you could think of... plus some! The staff is very friendly as well. The prices are also VERY affordable, especially for the job they do. this place is okay. they will get the job done, but a lot of times it is done rushed since they are so busy. yesterday i went to get a pedicure, which normally they do okay, but yesterday the lady really messed up my toes. i tend to get ingrown toe nails and i asked her to keep them straight, but she cut down the edges so now i know my toe will be ingrown and painful in a few weeks. she was super nice and smiled a lot, but i don't think she understood anything i said. i will not be going back here. read more

Paid $45 for a full set. Made me remove my previous nails myself. Upcharged me without telling me. I told them what shape I wanted and they just told me no and did whatever shape they wanted. Not personable. None of my nails have the same shape. I tried to tell them and the lady just said "what are you talking about he did a good job" Not happy. Not impressed. I really enjoyed the pedicure that I received here. They had a good selection of colors and types of polish. Once I was in the chair, they offered me water and tea. I took the bottle of water and sat back in the massaging chair. The water was the perfect temp, the leg massage was great and longer than most other places. My polish was clean and even. I visited thiis salon today with two of my girlfriends for pedicures. We had an appointment for 1 pm, and they were ready for us within minutes of our arrival. The employees were very friendly, efficient, and considerate. We all got our pedicure started within minutes of each other, and finished at about the same time. I woke certainly recommend this salon to others - and we definitely plan to return. I am giving them a 4/5 because of thier location, and because they did use a drill on my friend's nails. read more

I've been going to Absolute nails for a little over a year now and have nothing but great things to say! Every time I go I get amazing service for a great price! This last time really stuck out to me because I was in a bit of a panic, i broke the nail on my ring finger, 3 days before our engagement photos! I joined the Yelp community solely to write a review to warn others from wasting their time and money here. I was very disappointed and frankly shocked by the lack of customer service and the unsanitary tools that were being used. The entire experience started when I walked in the door to an eye roll, from what I am assuming is the business owner. I was barked orders on where to find nail color and where I had to sit. I received the worst manicure of my life. My nails are uneven, the shellac color wasn't right, and the lady took a chunk of skin off of my pinky finger when cutting my nails. She didn't say a word to me the entire visit except to tell me the price of my service and to flatly apologize for my bleeding finger. All of this would have made this visit pretty undesirable but the icing on the cake and reason for this rant of a review is the cattiness of the staff and a patron. A regular was loudly making rude comments about another customer getting her toes done. The staff just smiled and chuckled as this went on and joined in when the customer left. It was disgusting. I honestly thought I was on a candid camera show and someone was going to jump out and tell me it was all a joke. And that is how I would describe my experience overall- a complete joke. read more

I have gone to this nail salon four times total. The first three times were for mediocre pedicures and I continued going because their location in close to my home. I recently took my oldest daughter, 5 years old, to their salon as part of our "girls day." I made appointments two hours in advance and when we arrived, we had to wait a half hour before we were even put into chairs. They were busier than usual, but as I continued to watch, people that they had asked to come back certain amounts of time later, were returning as asked only to hear that they could no longer get them in. My daughter's "pedicure" and "manicure" were finished before anyone even started my feet which were now sitting in cold water. They then rushed through my pedicure which was completed in 20 minutes and then I was told after that they no longer had time to do my manicure. Without any acknowledgment or apology, I was cashed out, I tipped 25% cash and we left. My daughter is completely turned off to getting her nails done in the future and I will never be going back here again. read more
