I saw Betsy at the Breton Village Waxology, and loved my experience! I got my brows done, and a brazilian, and she did both in about 15 minutes! I was shocked by how quick it was done. Betsy was super helpful with finding products for aftercare (I for fur oil and I LOVE it), and I felt like a whole new person afterwards! It did hurt a bit, and I'd suggest taking some ibuprofen beforehand (which I forgot to do ) but it's tolerable either way! read more

I am very disappointed, to say the least. My sister referred me to Betsy, she's a regular client and she spoke very highly of her professionalism and her work; she gave me a referral card. I scheduled an appointment for this upcoming Tuesday for a Brazilian and had a change in more work schedule. I called Betsy this past Sunday to give her a head's up and let her know that I MAY need to reschedule but I was not 100% sure that I would need to change anything and for her to give me a call at her earliest convenience. I ended up being able to solidify my work schedule to fit my appointment as planned. However, instead of calling me back to confirm whether or not I needed to cancel or reschedule, Betsy went ahead and cancelled my appointment without having ever spoken to me. I was pretty upset and I found that to be the opposite of the professionalism my sister spoke so highly about. I completely understand that she runs her business by herself and she's very in-demand, but a courtesy phone call would have looked a lot better and worked out in both of our favor. read more

So I have came here multiple times to get waxed and have had the best experience with Kaycee and Brittany. However, I went with my friend for moral support and Charley was so rude. From the start just made her feel uncomfortable and kept making sarcastic comments. It was her first time getting waxed and obviously uncomfortable already and Charlie did nothing. I got my first Brazilian wax treatment today. When I made my appointment online, I made sure to write in the comments section that this was my first Brazilian wax and I was nervous about my first treatment. When I got there... the front desk receptionist was very nice and the salon is very cute and clean. When the woman who was doing my Brazilian wax came to get me... that's when it went downhill. She quickly brought me to the treatment room and told me my instructions. She told them to me so fast, I didn't even have a second to comprehend what she just said. She didn't explain the process to me or offer any "bedside manner" to it being my first time. I had mentioned multiple times that this was my first treatment and I was nervous. I honestly felt like I was on a Brazilian wax assembly line. I felt like an object being treated as fast as possible... in order to get onto the next client... and I did not feel like a valued customer at all. And this was honestly one of the most painful experiences I have ever encountered. There was no warning of any waxing or any guidance as to what steps would be taken next. I was just thrown into all of this. I was clenching my sweatshirt and literally to the point of almost tears. I was so happy when my treatment was over with. Sadly, because of this experience... this will probably be my only Brazilian wax ever. read more

That doesn't equate to rudeness I see some other reviews may have confused this with. Everything is clean, it's fast, ready to find, and we'll priced. A wax never feels great. They are many factors to how quick your "recover". I know sometimes I recover quicker than others and usually it has to do with the over all time line that I chose myself visit to visit. I was so excited to see a wax place so conveniently located in gaslight village and immediately booked an appointment (for a Brazilian) when I was back in town! This was by far the most painful wax I have ever experienced, and I was treated with an insensitivity that made me feel extremely uncomfortable. If I hadn't brought along a friend, I would have left the wax halfway through because of the horrible experience. I have had many waxes before and actually loved the process and results, but I walked away from this wax feeling violated, extremely sore, and bleeding in areas that should not have been touched even with a Brazilian. I wrote my initial review when Betsy was across town. Now she's located in East Grand Rapids, which I could not be more excited for because it's closer to my house. She does a great job with waxing and the prices are reasonable. Her salon is is cute, comfortable and easy to find in EGR. I usually get in and out in 30 minutes for my appointments making it easy to go on lunch or after work. Parking can be a little difficult during busy times of the day, but there's plenty nearby if you look around. read more
