I am not a person who has fancy nails, but I do enjoy getting my nails done and have been loyal to Serenity Nail Spa for the past three years. I understand being busy, what I don't understand is lack of communication. If the online system for appointments does not work, don't offer one. This is the third appointment in a row (over the past month) where I've made an appointment and when I walk in the door they tell me "we called you to cancel." Yet, I have received no call, no text, no email. I enjoy this salon, but having your time wasted three different times, when it's something you're looking forward to, is very frustrating. read more

Do Not Go to this nail salon! YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS! My friend made an appointment for 10am this morning and I tagged along unable to make an appointment since they didn't open until 9:30am. I'm 55 and have been using nail salons for 30 years and I never hesitated to "walk in". when they told us they couldn't fit me in we decided to find somewhere we could get mania and pedis together, no biggie. we left and were driving when my friend received a call from the owner of SERENITY NAILS literally yelling at her because she expected to get a walk in serviced, we guess??? he was yelling and not letting her explain why we didn't call first so much my friend had to say" You shut up" he kept screaming at her until she finally hung up. I was happy with my nails until after a few hours. They crack, and I saw on my way to my trip and I couldn't go back to the salon right away. Now I am back, and they are not open on Mondays and Tuesday are my busy day. And Wednesday might seem a little to late. read more

I was there today and asked for an almond shaped dip on a fake tip. Everyone was really nice but my nails came out terrible. The shapes are all over the place, they are bumpy and thicker in some areas, and some of them look like they are lifting/pointing up. I asked the lady to fix the shape but she said that's it's very hard when the dip is on a fake tip but I've had this same service done other places and it never looked this bad. I have a wedding coming up next week and I'm going to have to go elsewhere and get them fixed prior to the wedding. Pretty disappointed. read more

they trick you into paying more- I asked many questions for clarification and the owner went around in circles not answering me directly. I was over charged and got a MASSIVE rash from the lotion they use. I asked them what the ingredients were and he said "oh I have no idea" I said what if someone like me is allergic? he says "oh that won't happen" I expose my rash which covers my entire hands and down to my elbow he says "that's didn't happen here" a full set is stated to be 45 for gel - for shellack its $10 extra he said gel is shallack so why wouldn't they post on their menu that it's actually 55 ? their menu is misleading to their poor customers. not to mention poor quality and care that goes into their work I've always left disappointed from uneven nails, chips, too much solvent underneath my nails and they never last. I'm appalled that they're still on buisness but I'm sure they won't be for long. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I was a little nervous coming here because of it being somewhere new. But because a friend recommending them for their professional service, I went anyway. I received their "basic pedicure", which wasn't bad by any means, but it was quite difficult to communicate with my technician. I let her know several times the water was ice cold, but she did not understand. Next, went she went to scrub my feet and did roughly 30 seconds on each side. There was still an excessive amount of skin on each of my heels. When I asked her to scrub once more, the gal declined. So I ask again and then she did. I went to pick my nail color and she did not understand. She then grabbed one of the male technician's and he asked me which color I wanted. I stated #432 and he then walked away. When I came back he said he was out of that color and pointed at the swatch. I politely stated that was not the number I ask for, but he was persistent that was the number I asked for. Once AGAIN, I had to grab the swatch and show him the number. Not one, but TWO technician's got it wrong. As she painted my toes, I assumed she would put two layers on, but instead I only received one. I can still see my toe nails where she missed. Although I am bummed with today's services. I can say that the salon was clean, up to date, and offered a beverage. I prefer someone who listens to me and will make the corrections as needed. After today's experience, I will not be returning to the salon. read more

I've given this mail studio two chances, and unfortunately I won't be returning. My first visit was for a pedicure. I waited close to an hour for my pedicure to start (30 min sitting in the chair & another 30 with the water & jets) and then the treatment took over an hour and a half... Not in a good way. The nail tech seemed very inexperienced. At one point she removed the base coat & one coat of polish with no explanation. There was a lot of sitting & waiting. My second visit was for a shellac manicure. I was there for one hour & 35 minutes. Again, I felt that my nail tech was very inexperienced & spoke very little English. He had to have the manager (or maybe owner?) Translate more than once. I asked for my nails to be rounded - he did uneven square. I asked for them to be shaped more & evened out.. still not satisfied. My polish is very streaky & uneven. Lots of over paint on my skin & underneath. My cuticles were barely trimmed. He was very slow, actually painfully so. The salon itself is very nice, open, and has very pretty aesthetics. However, employees were eating in treatment area, one was lounging across 2 pedicure chairs with his shoes off watching football, and loud music laced with profanity. Both my services were average, at best, with unacceptable time-frames. Had they been outstanding treatments that produced outstanding results, I'd wouldnt be as annoyed, but for the quality of the end result & the inexperienced techs... I won't be returning. read more

I found myself on Alpine today and instead of driving back to my normal place I decided to check Serenity Nail Spa out. The salon was beautiful and the staff were kind. The overall outcome of my acrylic fill with gel polish and basic pedicure with polish was not good. My ring finger on each hand has an excessive amount of acrylic making it significantly thicker than all my other fingers. No cleaning up around the nail, cuticle oil or lotions were done on my hands at all. Also, no cuticle oils or lotions were used in my pedicure. I will spend the next hour or so at home cleaning up my nails as best I can and using cuticle oils and lotions. To endure this almost $100 (cost plus tip) is not wasted and I will go back to my normal place next time. read more

This place is an absolute joke. No matter if you book an appointment or not expect to spend a minimum of two hours getting your service done. They overbook and take on way more people than they can handle and you end up waiting an eternity regardless of an appointment. read more

There's maybe two decent nail techs and they are always booked up. You call to make an apt and are waiting for 15-30 minutes after your apt time. I just recently tired a different nail Tech here and he messed my nails up so bad that i told him to take them off... i walked out with nothing on my nails and they still charged me 40$....... I've been going here since they opened. Great pedicures and even got my husband to join me a few times. I always get the dip for manicures and it's done well with many choices and colors. I've had one bad experience with a tech who didn't seem to know what he was doing, took forever, and needed the owner to show him what to do. I now call ahead to request someone I've worked with before. I've been very satisfied by all the other employees for their skills and professionalism. They did fix that for me, but a week later everything peeled off like stick on nails. I called to tell them, but they could careless. Didn't offer anything to me. I have had plenty of manicures and pedicures with shellac and have never experienced this before. They are super friendly and maybe it was faulty equipment. The two stars are for the ladies that did our pedicures. The lady that did my nails however did not to good at all. I asked for shellac and she filed my nails down. Not like usual, she folded them down so that my nails were super thin. A little background is that my nails are fairly thick, I have them fairly long and they do not break, EVER. The day after I got my nails done. They broke. I was so mad based on how much I spent, granted I did not pay a crazy amount ($80 for nails and pedicure) but I did not expect them to come out so bad. I am very upset because all of my nails are now ruined and I will have to re grow them out. The ladies who did out pedicures did so amazing, but the lady who did my nails extremely disappointed. read more

BEST PEDICURE I HAVE EVER HAD!!! We made an appointment for 6:15pm on a Thursday evening. They had us seated by 6:30. Not to bad could have been better. We got a soy wax pedi . They used 2 different scrubs , candle wax and paraffin wax . Sooo relaxing! They took their time!! I scheduled an appointment for a pedicure & full acrylic set. The pedicure went good. The nail tech who had to do my full Acrylic set however, was very pissy. I showed him an exact picture of how I wanted my nails to look: exact length -- long, exact shape -- tapered square, & color. I noticed when he was putting on my Acrylic tips, he was cutting them *coffin shaped*. I asked him if he was doing tapered square, & he got mad, started to cut the nails off quickly & argued saying, "That picture, is square with a slant, almost coffin.", he then got up, & went to work on a pedicure for a different client. I was sitting there waiting for my nails to "soak" (which left my cuticles EXTREMELY dry), until 20 mins later the owner of this salon did my nails. I honestly was going to leave, (I should have), but I decided to still give this place a try. She did them very quickly & didn't even seem to care honestly. They're very sloppy! So I came in wanting just plain acrylics, having called and made and appointment, I told the girl that that's what I wanted. When I got there the artist asked what I wanted and I showed him a picture, he then said ok and had me pick out the colors. Thinking it would be acrylic, I got suspicious when he started doing dip, but because I was new to acrylics I just let him do his thing and carry on. I felt very uncomfortable the entire time this, considering he only talked in a different language to his colleagues, making me feel highly uncomfortable. Anyways I was supposed to be paying $30-$40 for acrylics with either shellac or regular, but then because he decided to do dip without telling me the price would go up way more than the usual, I ended up paying $65!!? I asked why it went up and the cashier said "oh we don't do that with shellac" okay??? Why was I not informed by the artist?! So I was very mad but I left them. While in the car, I took a closer look. They were CROOKED, ROUGH, AND INSANELY THICK. Do not waste your money! I suggest not attending this salon. read more

I was apprehensive about coming here because the reviews but I am from out of town and I really wanted my nail done so I went any way. I called and asked if they took walk ins and if they were available for immediate seating. They said yes so I came in and got seated right away. I picked a color and gave it to the nail technician. I then showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails. The yellow color I picked out I guess is a bad color that is very thin and doesn't lay nice but I wasn't told that so she went ahead and proceeded to "try" and imitate the picture. The nails were AWFUL. I finally wracked enough nerve to ask her is she was going to fix the spottiness and bad line work and she said that with the color I picked that is the best I could get. She was very willing to change it but it was an overall stressful process to watch and experience. I wanted to get a nude color with some kinda of sparkle on top but she didn't know how to do that. So I ended up getting plain black because I had already been in the Salon for an 1hr 45mins and was getting restless. My nails were okay nothing to rave about. My thumb nail is messed up (not my fault) and the under part of my nails look messy for the excess nail polish. She was nice but overall, won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend. read more
