What a strange experience! When we first arrived things were going beautifully. The building was very clean, the staff were extremely welcoming, and the vibes were overall very positive. I personally asked for a dip manicure along with a regular pedicure which wasn't a problem for staff. They quickly got my party and I in everything seemed to be going perfectly, until the end. At each station, there were VENMO codes to give your nail stylist a tip (perfect!) After I finished receiving services, I went ahead and tipped my nail artist who did my manicure. Once I checked out, she told me to go and tip the different lady who did my pedicure. While I'm not opposed to leaving a tip where a tip is deserved, I thought it was weird to tell me I needed to tip someone as tips aren't required. Regardless, I did go ahead and tip the lady who did my pedicure. While I finished for the rest of my party to finish getting their nails completed, I sat in the lobby chatting with some of my other friends. 5 minutes later, the lady who gave me my pedicure found me and claimed that I did not tip her. Confused and embarrassed, I told her that I did, indeed, tip her. To which she asked me to show her. Now completely uncomfortable, I showed her my transaction history which showed a completed tip to her. The pedicure artist continued to tell me that it did not go through (even though it pulled from my bank account) and kept showing me her phone and going through mine. At this point I'm HIGHLY uncomfortable and tell her I'm not sure what she wants me to say as it took the money from my account. The lady then proceeds to tell me I need to tip her again and pulls up her VENMO to send her more money. I refused and said I'm sorry but I'm not going to continue sending you more and more money before I finally was able to leave with my friends. Overall, everything was going good until it wasn't. Everyone was nice, my pedicure was great. The nails were not it. She asked if I wanted almond and I said no, I want a stiletto shape. I pulled up a picture. A few minutes later, she asked to see the picture again. I guess that should've been the first red flag, because I trusted the process and this is what I got. I did find it awkward how they make a scene to make sure you Venmo a tip to the person who does your pedicure. I always tip, it was just an unnecessary production to ensure I did. This place is very accommodating! My friend and I wanted to get our nails done, and didn't realize that we had to make an appointment at many places. We called this place and they said they would take us without an appointment! When we arrived, we had to wait a little bit as all the nail techs were busy, but even when someone walked in with an appointment, they still served us and took the time to make our nails beautiful. I have been to multiple nail techs at this salon on a walk-in basis. They're consistent with their work, take their time, and every time I have left with good looking nails. I get the dip, so it's pretty basic, but I've witnessed the elaborate work done by some of the techs here and, in my opinion, it's fantastic. Their prices could be considered ´a bit up there' for a basic dip, and after a tip (please tip your nail tech), don't expect to leave there without spending $60 minimum. I always expect prices to match experiences-- the work is solid and the techs take their time. I recommend walking in if you want or need your nails done on a whim. read more

I previously liked Bella nails. Linda did my nails well- acrylic as well as dip. The last time I went, I was concerned the nails would break off, and asked her to file my natural nails down as they are weak on the edges as they grow longer- she did not- and reassured me that they won't break, knowing that I'm rough on my hands- I work with dogs- and that my dip typically lasts 2-2.5 weeks max because of this. 6 days after that appointment I had 2 nails break off at the nailbed where the tips were glued on. I almost had to go to urgent care for the injury to my nailbeds. I didn't spend 1.5 hours getting nails done, just for them to snap off and leave me in pain less than a week later- all of which was preventable if my concerns of breakage were addressed at the original appointment. read more

The first time here I made an appointment which was great that I could; however, the second time I didn't and still they were so accommodating. The time without the appointment. I asked if I could wait about 30 minutes (which, thought would be in a chair in the front) but no; I picked out my color sat maybe 5 mins and when the asked me if I was to wait while my feet soaked while a chair massager worked it's magic. (Yes, please!) I opted for the deluxe (so nice!), the gentleman was very nice, pleasant and very good at feet and leg massages. Solid little nail salon. Probably would have never stopped if the location wasn't so convenient for me, but is now my go-to spot. I've had a pedicure and a few dip manicures, all with different technicians and they've all been really good. It's not the most modern or sleek place, but it is clean and well kept. The pedicure chairs are really nice and new as well. I've made appointments and also walked in on a Friday afternoon and waited less than 2 minutes. My only gripe (and it's very, very small) is the variety of vibrant dip colors. They have a million colors, but the majority are neutral or traditional shades and just I wish they stocked the newest/latest OPI releases. All in all, a really great spot! Tried this place for the first time today and absolutely loved it! There's a warm presence when you first walk in that makes you feel welcomed. I got a shellac pedicure and the staff was so lovely to talk to. The place is very clean and well taken care of. My nails turned out great and cost $45 which is actually cheaper than other nail places around the Forest Hills area. As a broke college grad (lol) my bank account loved that. The worst service and worst salon ever! I had gel polish and they wrapped my nails in foil and acetone for 40 MINUTES! Normally one should not soak in acetone for more than 5 minutes. I said my fingers were burning and it hurt. They still did not remove the foil. Finally once the foil was removed my nail shape had deformed and become concave and very painful. They blamed me and called me a liar. I showed pictures to prove my nails had not been this shape before. Again, they blamed me and called me a liar. I begged them to please remove the rest of the polish but they refused and again called me a liar. Finally I said I would make a complaint and then they threatened to call the police when I refused to pay for this terrible job. I left across the street to a much better salon and professional (LUSH, highly recommend). The nail salon then harassed my companion and threatened to file a police report against her unless she paid my bill! Only go here if you are into torturing yourself. read more

Mindy did not tell me about special on Deluxe Pedi - probably because she was extremely busy and didn't have more than 15 min for my pedicure. Booked for 4 pm, waited until 4:30 for 2 pedicures. Mine was done at 4:45, 14 minutes to be exact - ridiculous. I understand that they're extremely busy during holiday season but suggest jto not accept more bookings. Far from relaxing as she "slipped/poked" several times when cutting cuticles in a rush. I prefer to be given the choice when making a reservation - Instead of being told "It's busy in the mall as well"- Huh? Not an appropriate response for being 30 minutes late on an appointment for a 15 minute service.I really feel cheated. My daughter's technician seemed to be good w/ shellac and pedi. I think it was one of the owners that worked on me, he was very good at applying just enough pressure during the massage to leave my legs and feet totally relaxed. I've been to a few other nail salons recently because Bella Nails is far from where I live, but after going elsewhere, I know that Bella Nails is worth the drive! They are very thorough and pay close attention to detail. I typically get a dip manicure. They have tons and tons of color options and even a selection of ombré designs. The building itself is very clean and up-to-date. The nail technicians are very friendly. Another great perk is that they will text you with coupons, so it definitely makes it more affordable than some other places. I definitely recommend getting your nails done here! read more

Worst manicure ever. The pedicure was fine. But the manicure was so bad. Penny, the manicurist, immediately said "I'm making your nails a round shape." She did not even ask me if that was ok. She then shaved my whole nail with a electric filer so close to my skin my fingers were burning. She had to hold my fingers and blow and rub them. When she cut my cuticles, she cut my skin and it started bleeding. I was begging her to stop but she said "no" that she needed to do it. She had no grace. Every clip was rough like a lumberjack hacking at a tree. I had my eyes closed and my hands were trembling at this point. She told me to open my eyes but I said, "no, not until you stop." I came in for a quick pedicure due to me having a few hours to kill before patients came into work. The service was very quick, staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The lady whom did my pedicure name was Ann, she was nothing short of fabulous! I can honestly say that was the damn best pedicure I have had in years, I cannot wait to come back to have another one. I got the deluxe pedicure ($32) and it was worth every penny. My cuticles were delicately trimmed, deep foot massage, wonderful lemon sea salt scrub for feet/legs, oil&lotion(2nd massage), followed with a nice hot towel to finish it off before the polish.
