I have been going to Happy Nails since I was a little kid. I even remember their old location in Forest Hills! They are my go-to spot whenever I am home in Grand Rapids. They always provide the best service. For pedicures they give the best massages and they are long with a lot of effort put in. They take their time with your nails and do an excellent job. I also get my eyebrows waxed here and they always look amazing after. The staff is very kind and welcoming, and put a lot of pride into their work. Went for shellac manicure. Had shellac on. After taking some of existing off started to proceed with manicure without removing all shellac. I questioned it and then they did. Painting of nails is mediocre. Very thin coats and nail color varies as coats are not consistent. read more

I attached the picture of the nails I asked for vs the nails I got. Before we got started i showed her the picture and asked if she could do it, she said yes! I wanted those nails EXACTLY, down to the shape and color. I actually picked out the brown I wanted and she didn't even use it. Multiple times during the process i showed her the picture I wanted and every time she'd look at it for a second and say "you can put it away". Picked out a deep royal blue and this is what I received... after 4 coats. She knew I was disappointed yet didn't even bat an eye or offer to fix it. I never leave reviews but I'm so tired of nail salons doing a shitty jobs. All tools are also reused if someone can suggest a GREAT nail salon in Grand Rapids I would be so thankful. The gentleman doing my nails never spoke English and only directed me by moving my hand around. Very cold unfriendly atmosphere. I always did Shellac here and loved the results. Today was the first time I just wanted a simple regular manicure because my fingernails grow really fast and I don't need the polish to last too long. The technician did a good job on my shellac pedicure, but then rushed through the normal manicure. She gave no time for each coat to dry. I'm sorry to leave a bad review, but I got a pedicure here and the nail polish started chipping within a few days. Normally, anywhere else, it lasts me months! My feet still felt rough/coarse (I guess I thought after a $30 pedicure (price includes tip), my feet would feel nice and soft. Nope). The staff was friendly at least. read more

I made appointments online for myself and two friends. Pedicures at 5 and Manis at 6. We arrived early and were plopped into pedicure chairs where our feet were placed in cold water. Everyone there was busy and since it was 4:50 i can only gather they just took walk ins regardless of our appt. We waited a half hour past our appointment time. We started at 5:30. The service wasn't as nice as I have experienced at other salons. The man was always grabbing my feet and moving them around which I found odd. The water was cold pretty much the whole time. They close at 7 I guess and were sweeping and closing up while my nails were still being done. It was just an unpleasant experience all around. read more

First time visiting here today and I really enjoyed it! Very clean environment, staff is friendly and professional and the prices of their services are very reasonable. I went in for a pedi, and got treated very well (way beyond my expectations). I was offered a massage chair and the girl who performed my pedi was awesome! Ni Nails was my go to place for a pedicure until today. They have all new staff that don't know what they are doing (at least my girl did not). She barely did anything to my feet to clean them up and get any dirt from under the nail. When she used the pumice stone, she had no strength behind it, therefore, the small calluses I had were untouched. Lastly, there is polish all over my cuticles and toes as well as the nails. She kept trying to scrub it off but she couldn't get it all off. So not only are my nails painted but so is the area around it. After going several weeks, I noticed I had fungus on my nail, under my shellac manicure. When I pointed it out to the nail technician she said, "you go see doctor". I had the shellac removed and am under treatment. I obviously have not been back. Today, my daughter called me to say she also has fungus on one of her nails. I am very disappointed. I wanted to think it had something to do with the shellac but I guess not. My daughter does not have shellac on her nails. read more
