Came in for manicures with my friend for the first time. It was a little bit of a wait without an appt but that didn't bother us. Staff should be respectful when speaking behind customers backs. I didn't care for an up sell for shellac but eventually got it. Day 3 my shellac showed cracks! It is day 4 now and shellac is chipped! I'm disappointed. To top it off my gf was told she couldn't get her painted nail removed, and redone. She was unhappy with the way they turned out. When I got there it looked promising with some good reviews and cute designs the beginning was good and it went very far down hill, I'm sitting here typing in pain beacuse my nails literally burn. There's polish everywhere even on my hands the French tips look like a toddler tried to do them there so thin and uneven! I will never come back and you should not go either, tbh I wouldn't even think about it unless you want hair inside your nails and to ball your eyes out on the way home. Clean you can pick any color or in my particular situation Andy picks my colors. I don't need to pick colors they choose what's right for. Every where I go, I get all sorts of compliments. I waited to review until after my friend confronted them about the issues below. After their lack of action, either to refund or offer corrections, I decided to post this. - not clean? - dishonest prices - hit or miss quality Honestly surprised. Had great conversation with techs, but a lot of the quality was disappointing. Not sure if the files used were brand new disposable ones because I didn't see them opened. We paid for them but they didn't give them to us (most places ask first and then give them to you) Paid for a manicure that included lotion and massage and did not receive that. My pedicure was French tip gel and was crooked and not even. Some polish was even left on my skin. I didn't think I would need to watch the whole time to ask for it to be changed. After seeing how they turned out, I watched during my manicure. I had to ask for a lot of adjusting on my fingernails because they were too thick or not shaped right. Andy responded kindly to me asking for this and I did end up liking my manicure, but I shouldn't need to ask that much for a French tip pedicure right? Feels fairly basic. This was for my wedding so I was hoping they were perfect. My toe nails were shaped crooked, the white line was crooked and didn't even reach the end of my nails on several nails, the line was thinner on some and thicker on others... disappointing. My friend paid for the service for us and was overcharged. When she confronted over phone she was told it was because she got shellac. We asked for itemized receipt over and things were listed that we were not told about price wise. I was surprised because I was recommended this place. But looking at the reviews, several other people have had issues with charge discriminations. Disappointed in how they responded about how expensive it was, and the overcharge was not refunded. Andy did my nails as a Loanne did my friends' nails. Don't come here unless you can tell them exactly what you want each step of the way, ask for what each thing costs along the way, and always ask for an itemized receipt. Everyone was extremely nice and I came in 5 minutes early and they were able to set up my chair right away. I got a pedicure from Nikki and she is the best. V Nails have lost three customers! My family and I will not be returning!! While I feel bad that I'm posting this but it might save someone the experience. So a while back an employee made my toe bleed from a cheese grater on my toe and picking at my leg after I told her not too. This time my daughter and I went to get lashes. We agreed $100 each. Well got our lashes done that fell off the next day. But we ended up paying $120 each. My eyes burned so bad afterwards. Then my daughter was talked into redoing her lashes which fell off the next day AGAIN! They didn't offer a refund or anything. I also tipped her $35. I'm so mad! I work hard and I'm honest. I don't scam clients for money. Then I noticed how a lot of people get their cuticles done which when I got my nail done she never touched them. I've also noticed that people get their hands massaged I never have had that with all the manicures I have had. I've always tipped $20-$35 each time. I'm so irritated and feel taken advantage of!! So my whole family and I have started going somewhere else. This is bad business!!! I also noticed that they use the same tools on clients and they do not sanitize in between clients. Sounds like the health department needs to make a visit again! I found out the health department has already been there once. Taking advantage of people is pretty shitty! I work hard for my money and expect the quality work and good customer service. So they got $240 free money plus $35 tip. This has me burning up inside. Andy did call me and left a voicemail. Then he sent me a message. I do not want to be harassed either for leaving a yelp review. I'm repeating myself but I work hard just like everyone else. Nightmare. Staff were rude and incompetent. Unsanitary. Did not use the UV light correctly on my hands and was terrified I was going to leave with arm and leg bruises and cut toes. The speed at which the tech was cutting my toenails was unnecessary and dangerous. She was also repeatedly BEATING my legs and arms and balls of my feet with her closed fist. I had to tell her firmly and *multiple times* to stop. This would be dangerous for someone on blood thinners or who bruise easily. This place is a liability lawsuit waiting to happen. Health department has already visited and needs to investigate again. They were using the same tools on different clients in direct violation of health codes. Least relaxing mani/ pedi of my life. I was actually afraid for my safely. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

I never give 1 star reviews but I need to warn others about this place about the mistreatments I received here. This is the worst nail salon in the HV area. Upon arrival, I was not greeted warmly and have to constantly be proactive about what I need. I needed to get a manicure done and the lady who did my nails looked like she either hated her job or hates me. I was very nice throughout my whole visit. I had someone took off my powdered nails prior. She was fine. Then the next lady came to do my nails right after she finished someone else next to me. She was aggressive on pushing my cuticles in, I realized THREE of my fingers were bleeding when I washed my hands. My cuticle are still in pain an red after a day. She said "don't touch it then it won't bleed". Excuse me? I don't even want to touch it and I am in pain and bleeding. She never apologize about it. I'm not even sure if the tools they used had been sanitized since she was working on another lady right next to me prior and I saw her grabbing the tool from next seat and used on me. My nail shape was also slanted and length doesn't match my other hands. The color I picked also looked very different than the actual color applied. I've been to several nail salon here in Happy Valley and wanted to try them out since they're new. I'll never go back and will never recommend anyone going there. read more

I am extremely picky about my nails. I've been getting dip powder for the last 2 years and have grown out my nails to look like a full set. I went in to get a Lash extension fill. I had to wait for 20 minutes for the Lash tech. The greeting I got was not good. The Lash room was unwelcoming. The table to lay on uncomfortable. The tech put my purse glasses and keys on my body as a table. She did not wash me eyelash line. She said I could wash them myself in their washroom with water and a Q tip. She then plucked about 6 of my natural lashes. At this point I told her I was leaving. No way would I recommend V Nails to do anything! I cannot imagine what damage could of been done. I've been in here a few times and a man did my nails and he was great. I think he's like the dad of everybody that works there. I went in there yesterday to get a Manny Petty, and was overcharged for the exact same thing I had done before it was supposed to be 50 for my Pedi and 50 for my dip manicure and I was charged $120 that did include a 15% tip but that means I was charged over $100. It should've been 50 I just didn't have time to say anything. I was in a hurry, I had a basic manicure to the last time I did it the gentleman put a beautiful design on there and I will still charge $50. I'm pretty disappointed to say the very least. read more

I have been to this salon about 4-5 times now and at first, I had a good experience. I believe maybe this is because I was attended by the business owner on a slow day. He was kind. However, that was a one time experience. They have a tendency to add charges without disclosing to me first, such as the $2 charge others have mentioned, and now, charged me $10 extra for French tip nails on natural nails, but labeled it as a "chrome" technique. Okay, whatever, I don't make a fuss about the charges and pay them. But aside from this, there is also something off with the environment here. I can't help to notice that I am usually the only client who is a person of color there and I receive different treatment than other clients who do not look like me. For example, today, I walk in at the same time as another woman who was not a person of color. We both get seated on the pedicure chairs and the employees become so attentive to her while they ask me to go sit. They ask this other woman, "Would you like water? Juice? A mimosa?" They don't offer me a thing lol okay not a big deal. But then, they are very pushy with me and yank me around versus asking me to move my feet towards them or follow them, kindly, like they do with the other woman around me who do not look like me. Okay, again, whatever, I deal with this. At the end, as that same woman who came in when I did pays, they all smile at her and say they hope to see her soon. It's my turn to pay and the woman who is checking me out doesn't want to give me a paper receipt even though I just saw her print receipts for others. She doesn't tell me why or if she's out of paper, she just tells me she'll text me my receipt and I say okay. For some reason, the text doesn't work and she can't text me the receipt, so I stand there waiting. I got the impression that she just wanted me to leave without the receipt because after awkwardly staring at each other, she finally prints my receipt and wafts it to me while looking annoyed. She doesn't tell me thank you or goodbye, even though I do. This is really frustrating because every time I go in, my experience goes something like this. BTW, I always tip, never complain, I'm very timid and quiet (literally, I do not talk) and smile. I even hesitate to label these experiences as a race thing because there is absolutely no way for me to know if this is true. I really hope that it's not and it's just a bad business where they are this rude to everyone. read more

The staff were very thorough and did a decent job, but I was charged $8 just to remove regular nail polish from my toes which wasn't quoted to me. When I asked what the miscellaneous charge was on my bill, they explained that was the charge to remove my nail polish. I would expect that for shellac or dipped nail removal, but paying $8 for something that took 30 seconds to remove seemed a little excessive. read more

First experience but it will also be the last time I ever step foot in that place. I originally had an appointment for full set and pedicure but left that facility after my horrible experience off my pedicure. I didn't stay for them even do my nails because my pedicure experience was horrible. It was a nightmare from the beginning, the lady who was assigned to start with my pedicure didn't know how to use the nail drill or remove gel polish from my toes. Another lady had to turn the drill on and remove the gel from my toes. When she took control again, she didn't know how to cut my toe nails so I had to ask her to give me the nail clippers and I proceeded to cut my own toe nails. She try to add polish to my toes and did not color my toes properly. I asked that she re do it and was unsuccessful two times. She then dropped the led light machine on my toes which cause my left toes pain and I had to go home and ice my toes. The guy in that place came to take care of my pedicure but by the time he came to assist her I was extremely upset and frustrated with the entire experience that all I wanted was to leave and never come back. It's a negative stars for me. Can never try to convince me to give this place another chance. She ruined it for me. read more
