I called because my usual place wouldn't take my appointment today, so I found this on yelp and had walked by all the time and figured it was worth a shot. IT IS. Ariana was awesome. I don't usually chat during appointments because I love watching them work. The space was clean, busy, but they also had drinks, good music, and lots of options. I'm visiting Portland and had cracked one of my nails so went in to get a fresh manicure. I got the dip. I should have just kept my original manicure, cracked nail and all cause it still looked better then what I came out with. If it was acceptable, I would have not paid. $40 for nothing because I will have to redo them elsewhere. The girl that did them sits in the front right corner, I think her name is Tammy. I'm sure she's nice and all but barely speaks English, I tried to point out some of the things to be fixed but she didn't seem to understand. I asked to even out some of the thickness on top of my nail but she rounded the corners instead. At one point I asked if I could fix one of the nails myself... Every time that I've gone here, I've always had the best experience. I've never felt rushed or like my walk-in is a problem, and they always take such great care of the work they're doing. I always leave feeling like I got my money's worth, and the work always lasts weeks! I've always gotten my gel manicure done here, and my nails always have a hard time keeping any gel or polish on them, but that's not a problem here. It really does last. I finally bit the bullet and got a full set. I could not be more pleased (unsurprisingly). Tommy took care of me. The whole process took almost an hour and a half, and I am perfectly okay with that considering how well of a job he did. They're the perfect shape, they're not too thick, and it was obvious how focused he was on doing a good job while being very gentle. They're also always the sweetest and most accommodating bunch of people. I'm pregnant and have gone here a few times in my pregnancy, and they're always quick to offer me a mask so I don't breathe in any of the harmful chemicals or dust. I went to this place last night for a fill my nails where bulky and looked disgusting. The lady that sits at the front right chair assisted me i showed her a picture off Pinterest that was a glitter ombré and she nailed it! She thinned my nails down to look natural and did my nails exactly like the photo! She has a few nails she has designed hanging from her lamp that were awesome ! I have been here many many times over the years since I love close. They are always very nice and I've never been turned away on a walk-in even when they are busy. I've waited a while. Probably longer than some would but I know what I am getting with them. Last year they painted sharks on my thumbs for shark week. Yesterday, after my pedi, I wanted a flower painted on my big toes but all the ladies were busy and poor Ian admitted he wasn't great at them. I told him to go for it. They turned out wonderful and he added some sparkle stripes to them making my pudgy toes beautiful . I found this nail salon through Yelp and chose it based on it's proximity to my house. I have been there two times and both times they were able to get me in on the day that I was calling in. My first visit I had an acrylic backfill and major repairs were needed. They were able to fix my multiple broken nails and complete my appointment in less than an hour. My second visit I got a pedicure and it was delightful. I received a free beverage with my standard pedicure ($25) that included a lovely hand massage, heel scrub and gel polish. They have massage chairs which is half the reason I book pedicures. My technician was lovely and really took extra time to make me feel comfortable. I will be back. read more

Went in for chrome nails, I thought after saying no sparkle that the powder she showed me was not going to sparkle after it was buffed out. NOPE I didn't get chrome I got silver/gold sparkle. And the product must be super cheap because with in TWO days they were pealing and a bronze color. Come to think of it she didn't primer my nail before gel base coat. $35 for gel polish that came off immediately and turned a horrible color that wasn't right anyway. I had to go this place because it was close to the mall and I had run out of time for an important appointment. Let's just say that I was not impressed, neither they had to, but the experience was less than memorable. I don't know why is so hard to find good nail service in the Portland metropolitan area. I get much better service in Phoenix or in Scottsdale when I visit my mom. The employee seemed to be nice but was barely able to communicate with me in basic English. Love this place. Prices are on par with everywhere else, I always pay the same for my service (no surprises) and the quality is great. I get acrylics with gel polish. The lady I visit, she comments how I never have lifting (I did in other places) and she always does a great job! Best quality I have ever gotten, after trying numerous other salons. I always get a nice glass of wine to drink while she gets to work and she's always friendly. When I call in, I generally make same day appointments and even the other Team Members are friendly. I won't share who my nail lady is, I'm selfish like that! IMPORTANT: All of these complainers don't seem to understand something really important. Your nails are only as good as your technician. The worst experience! I went in for a manicure with Tiger's Eye Gels. This was my first time at D'Lux. The guy that did the service was extremely rough. He was in a big hurry. Did not even clean under my nails! Cut me 3 times and the one was so bad that it bled through the whole service and did not stop bleeding until awhile after I left the salon. He kept squirting alcohol on it - OUCH! The alcohol bottle had a big hair wrapped around the neck of the bottle - ICK! As for the tire's eye gels, the stripes are all going in different angles and a couple of nails dont have full coverage. I found the establishment to be very unsanitary. Never Again! After bleeding all over the place this guy charged me full price! I dont mind paying and I alway give a 20% tip. Not worth a plug nickle!!! read more

I wish I could give less than one star at this point. I recently went to this salon after I had an appointment fall through for a bridal party. I was getting married the 21st and had a group of 8 ladies with me getting varies kinds of manicures and pedicure treatments. They took us in and made us feel welcome at first. I asked for a deluxe pedicure, and the lady was going incredibly fast through it. Over half way through, she looked at me with almost a smug remark and said "you're the bride?" In which I replied "Yes, I get married tomorrow." Then a few of the ladies were talking amongst one another in their language and laughing. It was only after she found out that I was the bride that she actually took her time with the massage. She also filed my toe nails down very short, which I was not happy with. After the pedicure was done, she took me over for my manicure, leaving my purse and shoes over at the chair where they had already sat someone else down at. When that individual was going through my purse, I noticed it was left and I yelled for someone to get it. After this, she kept pushing me to get shellac nails done. I kindly replied that I didn't want to due to the fact I enjoy painting my nails frequently. All was done and she told me I needed to dry my nails for a minimum of 40 minutes! What?! Again, she didn't grab my purse or shoes so I had to carry them myself to the drying station, which caused my nails to smudge. When I asked the lady if she could fix it she scoffed and painted a thick coat over it. Keep in mind this was for my wedding day. I rarely treat myself and I felt as if I wasn't an important customer. To make matters worse, 6 hours later while packing my bags for my honeymoon after my rehersal dinner, I looked down at my nails and my toes were smudged and all my nails had smudges on them. What kind of polish do you use when it doesn't dry for over 6 hours. And I put drying spray on it. One of the ladies noticed while I was there that I was upset the girl didn't have time to fix my nail properly, so she gave me a free lotion bottle for bringing in 8 people of business with me. A free bottle in which my nail artist tried to charge me for when I wasn't leaving much of a tip. I shouldn't have paid at all. I regret keeping the color on for my wedding pictures, and I took it off the second day of my honeymoon. I was so disappointed. Never again will I take my service here. read more

I stumbled across this place today and I absolutely love it. I originally came to sell at the Plato's next door and saw this nail Salon and decided I should give it a go while I waited and I'm absolutely happy I did. Walk-ins are welcome and I only waited 5 minutes which was great. Jade was my nail technician and she did such an amazing job. I was scared at first because this was my first time here (and second time ever getting acrylics) and I had has a horrible experience at a precious nail salon but thankfully I had nothing to worry about. Jade was so attentive to detail and she was very clear with prices. The starter for acrylic is $25 which is extremely good, it really is a great price as the service is that of $45+. It was an extra 5 for length and a dollar if it's your first time because they use a nail file and buffer that you bring in for your next appointment. Over all I was extremely pleased with my service and the staff was very friendly and nice and the quality is amazing. The establishment was also very clean and well lite. I would defiantly recommend you to go here you will not be displeases. 10/10 would defiantly go again. read more

Thumb nail is shorter than it was before fake nails, flare of the nails, and when I asked for them to just take them off they told me no and filed down the sides until I couldn't handle the pain anymore. I'm leaving crying and they also charged $25 for a gel polish change for my toes. $70 later I'm upset and crying. read more

I was really disappointed with the service here. My friends got me a gift certificate (which legally should not expire before 5 years). It was misplaced and as soon as I found it I brought it in! They said it expires after a year and I was four months late. The girl I talked to told me to talk to the owner! I told him the situation and asked if there is anything they can do since I just found it and my friends spent so much money to treat me there. He said there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. I've worked in many service industries and if you are the owner there is always something you can do. Not only did they not do anything to help they were very short and rude with me. My impression is that they only care about money and not about good relationships with their clients. read more

I had eyelash extensions applied by Heidi and I couldn't be happier with them. She did a fabulous job and they still look great after two weeks. I have gotten a ton of compliments on them. The price was very reasonable and they look very natural. You could do more dramatic if you want. She was also able to get me in on a very short notice. Heidi is professional and friendly. Unfortunately not very impressed with the place. Dropped in for a gel manicure, and while they fit me in it definitely felt like a rush job. My nails turned out *fine*, but when I'm paying for a service I definitely prefer better than fine. I had to have her reshape my nails several times and after asking her to even out my very obviously crooked thumbnail three times she was clearly irritated. The polish was applied sloppily and is lumpy with obvious spots that are not covered in top coat. Luckily it's black so it's forgiving, but I will not be back here. read more
