Spicy Pepperoni Pizza
Allie D.

I will echo what so many have said - the atmosphere is what you go for. It's beautiful and beyond instagram worthy. Our server was lovely and helpful. They were running a special on Komos tequila while we were there which was fun, and they passed complimentary lime cello shots for their towel spinning run through that evening. I had the Spicy Pepperoni pizza, a margarita and a glass of their house wine - it was all tasty but total came to $81. It felt over priced and gimmicky - tip was included because we were a large party but the app they use at the table attempted to add an additional tip and sneak it in, then the surcharge for using said QR code, it just felt a little too new Nashville. I love they are attempting to protect their servers with built in tips but they're doing it wrong at the costumers expense.

Stunning in every way! The decor and bar in the center is so eye catching. It felt as if I left Nashville and was transported to a NYC or Miami club. The music was good vibes with a DJ. However, it is not loud so you can actually have a conversation. The bathroom was so trendy and picturesque. The greenery and live plants bring the luxury feel. At 9pm Friday and Saturday they give you free limoncello shots and have the napkin dance. The food was overall delicious. The meatballs are to die for. They are super moist and perfectly sauced. I recommend them as a starter since there are 3. We ordered the scampi and short rib with truffle pasta. Both good portions and we had left overs. Sadly they don't do birthday dessert. Drinks were also yummy. Service was fantastic. He was so helpful and gave recommendations.

I've been here a few times now so including photos from both trips! But I've had a great experience both times I've been here. The first time was over the summer for just a girls night to grab dinner and drinks, and the second time was to celebrate our engagement anniversary (December). I've gotten the same pizza both times, so there's one way to state that it really is that good. The pasta, braised short ribs, apps, and desserts, I really haven't had a bad item here. I see bad reviews and I just can't speak to that. I have only been in parties of 2, so maybe it's harder when a larger group? But that's solely me just speculating. It's also GORGEOUS in here. I think the patio is the perfect place to sit when the weather is nice, but also being indoors during Christmas and seeing all of their decorations were great too. All in, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try out some good Italian food while also being at a place that creates a good vibe.

This place was stunning! They really curated a vibe with the soft lighting, cozy seating, and house music. Although the music was a bit on the louder side so I wouldn't recommend this for an intimate date. They did have us waiting for some time even though we had reservations. Nevertheless staff were still attentive and food was brought out accordingly. The pastas were saucy and tasty! We didn't have a single complaint about the food. Another plus is the validated parking in the garage. Wasn't a hassle to find a spot.

This is a pretty chill place. The aesthetic is so nice and the atmosphere kinda upscale. The pasta was delicious but the cannoli was not. The service was okay. It wasn't crazy busy but our server didn't check on us often and we waited for her to come back a few times and she didn't. The price for the food was okay, the meat portions were not a lot if you added protein.

absolutely stunning dining area!!! Tables are low lit and very elevated. Great spot for a romantic dinner or a celebration with a large group. The antipasto tower is INSANE. such a great shareable the table with a little something for everyone. Pasta was good! A lil more al dente than I'd usually go for but the sauces were delicious. Dessert is super fun and unique. Their cannoli service includes sparklers and a staff member building it in front of you!! such a cool experience!! their tiramisu is made with baileys instead of coffee which is not my fav but it is an interesting twist on such a traditional dish! parking is included in the garage next door at moderna gulch for 2 hours ! Definitely recommend making a reservation !

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Nashville. WHAT A VIBE. Napkin twirling. The DJ had me dancing in my seat while eating. Five star service from every single server. Here's what I recommend ordering: * Bruschetta (TO DIE FOR) .*Meatball appetizer *Pizza with Spicy Pepperoni & Honey *Cannolis made TABLE SIDE with sparklers *Steak was SO FLAVORFUL *Layered Cake was light & fluffy without being overly sweet *Pasta - I liked the Truffle white pasta more than the red pasta. I'd add a protein next time

This restaurant has been in my radar ever since they opened! My girlfriend took me here for my birthday in February and we had a great time. First off, I love the vibe of this modern, rustic feel with a lot of greenery. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed kindly and were sat immediately. Our server came by to greet us and was so friendly and helpful. We decided to get the FIOR DI BASILICO and FLOR DI LIMONE cocktails to start and they were so well balanced. For an appetizer we ordered the BRUSCHETTA CLASSICA which was such a unique and tasty take on a bruschetta. For dinner we ordered the VODKA ROSA and the ALFREDO DI STEFANO, both of which were very good and perfectly cooked. If I had to pick one, I'd probably say get the VODKA ROSA but I feel like you can't miss here! For dessert we shared the gelato which was the perfect ending to the meal. Overall great experience and will definitely be coming back!

Have to say as a Nashville local I don't pop down into the gulch for a bite very often but I'm always monitoring the coming & going of eateries in that area. It just so happened I was looking for a reservation at a nice vibey spot with short notice for a party of 6 on a Monday & came across V Modern Italian on OpenTable. The occasion was to celebrate the birthdays of two German teachers in town with a student exchange. The photos of the decor & comments on the atmosphere were enough to warrant investigating. The descriptions were accurate. The space is quite pretty & the seating & tables give a modern upscale aesthetic but the vibe is more business causal than cocktail imho. The service stellar with our server giving us plenty of time to have drinks & conversation in between starters & entrees. There was never the feeling of being rushed even though we probably spent nearly 3 hours here. I let our server choose my cocktail & my entree & her choices were excellent. For starters we tried the focaccia & the bruschetta. Both were good enough but nothing incredible. I had the Fior Di Basilica cocktail (chosen by my server) it was light, fruity, & refreshing. For my main the Glazed pork chop was chosen. This was one of the most perfectly prepared pork dishes I've had in town. The balsamic glaze & roasted potatoes were perfect with the sizeable pork shank. Highly recommend this dish. She also chose the garlic butter mashed potatoes as a premium side. Bold choice to double up on potatoes but to her credit they were excellent. I'd recommend this spot for a nice dinner, special occasion, or to hang at their very pretty bar for a drink.

Focaccia Tasting
John S.

I began with their standard espresso martini, which offered a robust, dynamic duo of flavors from the Evil Bean coffee liqueur and espresso. To start, we ordered the Focaccia Tasting, which consisted of warm rosemary focaccia bread and sides of balsamic olive oil and house marinara for dipping. The bread was delicious -- cooked perfectly -- slightly crispy on the edges and warm and fluffy inside. The bread paired well with the olive oil and marinara. For my entrée, I ordered the Black Truffle Pipette. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce was delicious, but the black truffle was subdued. And the dish had only a few roasted portobello mushrooms, which was disappointing. Regardless, it was so good and the perfect size -- it left me satisfied but not stuffed. For dessert, I tried the Baileys Tiramisu. It was definitely a unique take on the classic. Rather than coming in traditional cake form, it was served in a glass and comprised of mascarpone cream, Baileys-soaked chocolate cake and cocoa powder. I thought the dish was overpowered by the mascarpone cream, which seemed to dominate the dish. The chocolate cake seemed more like crumbs on the bottom of the glass, and I didn't taste a hint of Baileys. However, the cocoa powder on top paired well with the mascarpone. In hindsight, I should have ordered the almond cake. I loved the decor and ambiance inside the restaurant. I felt cramped navigating between the tables, but everyone was mindful of the limited space, so it wasn't much of an inconvenience. Our waiter was fantastic, and I was amazed by how quickly our drinks and food were brought to the table (in courses, not all at once, thankfully). I will definitely return to explore more of the menu. The sourdough pizzas looked divine.

Inside bar

Wanted to love this place but the food was just ok. The inside is absolutely stunning with great decor and ambiance. Our server was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The Mediterranean Olive appetizer was just a cup of Kalamata olives... like you poured them out of the jar at home. 100% not worth it. The Vodka Rosa pasta lacked flavor. The pasta wasn't anything special. I was expecting pasta that is made fresh daily but this clearly was not. The Barolo Braised Short Rib was tasty but there was too much gravy/sauce on the plate. Pizza was good, classic style but for the price you can get just as good elsewhere. Floppy tasty crust. Loved the red onion on the Spicy Italian Pizza - it was caramelized and added a nice touch to a pepperoni pizza. Cocktails were well made. It's evident the bartenders know their craft. Decent wine list. Happy to see a super Tuscan available.

My husband and I visited V Modern for a nice dinner out! I love this restaurant! This atmosphere is so welcoming and absolutely beautiful. I love that on beautiful nights the hostess stand is located on the front patio, it unique compared to other restaurants in the area. Our waitress was also so sweet! She catered to a few extra request we had (allergies, food preferences) and made the experience super easy. Now the food! To me honest, it wasn't the best steak or pasta in town but it was pretty tasty. My favorite part of my experience here was the aesthetics and the music! I definitely recommend for a date night

This place is as cute as it is on their social media page. We actually snowball up upon this with my friends accidentally for dinner. The whole entire staff was incredible! Especially our beautiful server miss April. Not only were the people amazing but so were the food. I normally don't do dark espresso martinis, but their velvet espresso martini is incredible! Don't be scared of not having any cream in there because it is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much to you and all the stuff for making my birthday celebration so beautiful.

Cake cutting fee or do they even allow outside food?

If you book an event or "private dining" with them, then there isn't a fee! But if you are dining in for a regular dinner, I believe it's $25-30 for the cake fee.

Do they take walk-in's?

Yes but recommend making a reservation online

Is there plenty of Parking?

There's plenty of easy/convenient PAID parking but you won't find a ton of free parking anywhere in the Gulch or downtown Nashville these days.

They cost $8 a piece. The chili package included a bag of their store-made pasta and a big packet of spices you can add depending on how much firepower you want. The basic recipe does call for you to add a lot - 3 cans of beans, a can of diced tomatoes, chopped onion and garlic and pepper, some ketchup, and ground meat. But once you're done with the chopping and browning of the meat, everything comes together pretty fast. And how was the Classic Chili (more like a chili mac)? Well, let me tell ya, buddy it was pretty darned great. The sauce came out perfectly, and I loved the flavor and zip level of the spice. I dumped in the whole package because I like spicy, but you can go with a lighter hand if that's what your taste buds tell you. It was a lot of fun putting this together, and as I said - it came out great.

It's a cozy space, we were seated in the outdoor area which has been completely closed in with plastic for the winter. The heat was blasting and it was a perfect spot, very inviting, and had outdoor TVs. We had two servers, young and very polite that checked on us. The menu includes appetizers, pizzas, calzones, pastas, salad, etc. We ordered the garlic knots, small Cesar salad, 14" pizza, and chicken parmigiana. Food arrived extremely quickly, starting with the salad. It was perfect as an appetizer, the dressing was light - more like Italian and the lettuce was crisp. Next came the garlic knots, which were drenched in butter. The knots were crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. We would 100% recommend them, even though pasta are served with the knots (which we didn't know). The pizzas came in four sizes 12, 14, 16 and then one bigger. I thought the pan size looked small for the 12 so I ordered the 14" chicken BBQ pizza. It arrives next and was quite large! It was thin crust with a crunchy crust. It was delicious, perfect amount of toppings. Then the chicken parmigiana arrived, and it was heaping with freshly breaded and fried chicken with marinara pasta underneath. It was a big portion served in a bowl and my daughter loved it. We will be back to try more food, would highly recommend. Also, if you have a car, there was a lot of paid street parking available. I was so afraid I would never have another good bagel again that I literally took bagel-baking classes at the Culinary Institute of America. I was right to be scared. The kind of thing someone hands you and says, "It's basically the same," right before you question every decision that led you south. Then this place showed up.
