We had such an amazing time! Food was extraordinary and the staff was so attentive. Alli was the BEST!! She made us feel so welcomed and made sure we were able to get our order placed expeditiously. Our out of town guests were very pleased with our suggestion of PennePazze! Romi, great job!!! read more

This is a bit of a non-traditional restaurant set-up. It seems they offer to-go orders, as well as sit down service. When you are seated, you are greeted with a QR code at the table- no paper menus and no servers to take your order. I was hoping for a more "traditional" service when going out to eat. I really enjoyed the Pinsa sticks. My friend enjoyed her pasta. read more

4.5 This place was incredible. Very modern Italian vibe with an amazing drink selection. I even found an Italian beer that blew me away. We got the carbonara, which was wonderful, a pepperoni pizza they drizzle honey over (something I always love), and a lasagna baked to perfection. Every single dish delivered. Overall the drinks, food, and atmosphere were all amazing. A little pricey, but every bit worth it. read more

For my birthday, my wife asked where would I like to go for dinner. My reply was that I would like Italian food somewhere. We searched Yelp to find an Italian restaurant that we hadn't been to and came across PennePazze in the L&L building on Charlotte Ave. It had many positive reviews, so we made our way there, and let me tell you... the positive feedback was no exaggeration! I had the Campanella Pazze with added shrimp. It was to die for! The portions were plentiful. Not only that, but it was happy hour from 2pm til 5.30pm with buy-one-get-one on beer, wine, and cocktails. I finished off with a delicious cannoli cone. I will definitely be going back. Enjoyed mingling with the waitstaff. They were efficient and very friendly. Large parking lot with some street parking. Some tables are community-style. Order online, not through a server. Go! You won't be disappointed. read more

Found this place due to reviews on-line. Stunned it's been open 7 years or so! Located on the bottom floor of the L&L Building on Charlotte Pike. Indoor and outdoor seating with many community tables. Plenty of parking. Friendly service from Shanna and Kenna. Order online with your phone. Takes a moment to catch on, but after you get the hang of it, it's a fairly good process. Fantastic food! We had a couple pasta dishes, a pizza, and bread. Far too much food, yet reasonably priced...especially in Nashville! Great happy hour. Cannoli was delicious. read more

This place is baller!! Seriously amazing food. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The pesto pasta dish we got was some of the best pasta we've ever had. The mushroom pizza and cheese pizza were incredible. Such a cute and quaint restaurant, with BIG flavor. They take food quality seriously which we appreciated. We will be back soon! read more

The best pasta I've ever had (outside of Italy). So fresh and so flavorful. 10/10 experience and highly recommend

I went to PennePazze during happy hour and there was no wait. Their happy hour consists of bogo drinks but did not appear to include any food. The service is unique in that fact that it is very hands off but still a sit down meal. You will scan a QR code, order through the app, the waitress will bring your food, and then you close the bill on the app as well. The pasta was excellent and super fresh. The gnocchi was prepared perfectly and I think it might be hard to get me to try anything else. There are longer tables inside for larger groups and some where you can watch them prepare the food as well as more options on a covered patio. read more

Since this was our first time here, we wanted to try a pasta and a pizza that we shared (and we had some leftover for a snack later) Pinsa Maleducata - Tomato sauce, Fontina cheese, Pancetta (Italian Bacon) & Onion Jam (yum!) Gnocchi Crema Di Gorgonzola- Pecorino & Roasted with Pistacchios on top. Both were delicious, the Gnocchi was light, exactly how it should be and the Gorgonzola-Pecorino creme sauce was was smooth and perfectly made. We couldn't resist a good finish, so we split a Tiramisu - Mascarpone cream & Coffee lady finger cookies topped with cocoa powder. I had an espresso & my wife opted for a cappuccino (even though it was after 11am... shh, don't tell anyone). The server was attentive & helpful and we enjoyed the food. We were actually between the normal lunch & dinner shift, so the restaurant was not too busy. We opted to sit outside which was a little noisy from the road traffic at that hour, I did take a look inside and at the kitchen area. On our next trip here, we will be sitting inside and try some of their wine, and other offerings. Both the Gnocchi and the Pizza were very good, and we look forward to our next visit. read more

Absolutely incredible food, but the vibe is a little odd. My friend and I stopped by here to grab dinner during the week, and we were sat immediately. The staff here are super friendly, and gave us great recommendations once we were seated. The restaurant is semi-full service. You are sat at a table, but you have the menu online and can only order online. At that point I'd rather just take it to-go. My friend's phone was dead, so we also had to pass my phone back and forth to order. There are a couple of servers taking care of all of the tables once the orders are ready, so it feels like the restaurant is trying to get away with paying less people. I ordered the nonna paula, added pancetta to it, and made it spicy. The sauce was absolutely incredible. It was smooth, nutty, and creamy, and the house-made pasta was cooked perfectly. I wish their version of making it spicy didn't also make it more oily; it also didn't really add any kick to it. I'd definitely order to-go, but I'm not sure if I'd dine-in here again. read more

DISCLAIMER: Food was 5 star worthy, our service was good too, but they do things non traditionally here, and not in a good way... We tried to make a reservation for valentines day, only to find out after getting directed to other websites that they do t take reservations. Upon entering, we see placards on tables saying "reserved for valentines day".... um what? We tried that... They Seated us noy by ourselves at our own table, but right next to 2 strangers at a larger table.... Are you joking? I didnt ask for this! A valentines day meal into cant even have in private with my lady, we had to share our conversations with the two people right next to us. This was a HUGE turnoff. Upon bringing us our water pitcher, they brought out paper cups for us. If im paying $18 for a pasta dish, I don't want a paper cup for my water, I want a glass, thank you very much. But apparently thats too much for them to do. If youre saying you specialize in authentic Italian cuisine, but your salt and pepper shakers are pretty ground, and not the twist to grind ones, you're contradicting your claims... The 3rd drawback was their digital menus. Any place that has a digital menu is always a red flag. Not only do you order online but you pay there too, which is whatever I guess, but just odd. That being said, our food was great, the carbonara pazza was better than the amatriciana in my opinion but both were very good! The pinsa sticks were also wonderful, especially when using their olive oil soaked with hot pepper flakes and a little salt on top. All in all, a small spot with very good food, but just beware, you might be sharing your meal with complete strangers, sipping water out of paper cups, and browsing a digital menu read more

Always a great meal at PennePazza (their takeout and UberEats options are also solid). Ali took great care of us and we love sitting at the bar to watch the open kitchen and pasta making (yes, pasta is made in house). The Shrimp Mama Rosa is one of the best pastas we have ever eaten. The pana cotta is always delicious. The meatballs in bread bowl are a great new addition to the menu. Three hours of free parking if you validate at the hostess stand. read more

If you're in Nashville and love fresh pasta, you have to check out PennePazze! It's located inside the super cool L&L Market, which is such a fun spot on its own with tons of other shops and restaurants to explore. When we got there, they told us the wait would be about 45 minutes, so we decided to wander around the market. To our surprise, they called us over in just 15 minutes! Once we sat down, we had a great view of the kitchen. They have glass panels so you can actually watch them making the fresh pasta right in front of you. There's no traditional waiter, you just scan a QR code to order and pay, and everything moves really quickly and smoothly. I ordered the Nonna Paula pesto pasta and it was SO GOOD. Between the fun atmosphere, the fresh-made pasta, and how easy the whole experience was, I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Thankful we knew someone who had been here and they recommended it and guided us in. Tucked in a building with several other businesses, at night, it's pretty unassuming. Even after entering, it's pretty simple. We took a seat and our server let us know how to access the menu (QR) and order (online). Pastas are home made, wines are Italian and imported, yada, yada. So we order, food begins arriving. My one negative was the food arrived as it was ready which meant not at the same time so a bit awkward. (expect that with Tapis but not when all get an entree). I ordered the Pannini Caprese. Wonderful bread! Great flavor, and it is a lot of meal! Husband had the AMATRICIANA and that pasta was amazing! While I enjoyed my dinner, I will definitely have a pasta dish next time! read more

I've been here before but tried a new-to-me menu item this time! The Panini Caprese. It was delicious. Half of it filled me up for lunch. If you're coming here for the first time and can only pick one item - go with the pasta!! It's out of this world. But, truly, if you eat anything with pesto on it - you'll be happy. Best pesto I have ever had! These dishes are authentically Italian and I love coming here for lunch/dinner and happy hour! read more

Alli was amazing! She made all of us laugh and went above and beyond! Food was amazing!

Amazing! Love all the food but the Panino Caprese is amazing! Staff is all very welcoming & helpful as well

We were excited to dine in after having ordered take out and delivery many times and enjoying the food. But this was an awful experience that may have turned us off to the entire establishment. To begin, there are no servers. There are however, glorified food runners that give you a carafe of water and two paper cups, classy, right? You place your order on your phone and pay before the food even arrives. I got what I usually order, the Caprese panini, which arrived fairly quickly but was cold in the middle. We pressed the call button, which didn't work I guess because we had to flag out "server" down. She apologized and took it back to the kitchen but returned almost immediately informing us that the manager said "it's a cold sandwich." We explained that we've ordered it before and it was warm and melty, and we asked if they could just warm it for us. The hostess returned with the dish this time telling us it's "against health code and would be unsanitary." Fair but this also implies the server doesn't know the menu (if it's supposed to be cold shouldn't she have know this and said so?) Furthermore, the appropriate thing to do would've been to remake the sandwich, warmed and explain that this was a modification we'd need to state when we order. It's obvious that these owners cut corners to produce what ultimately amounts to a passable but not great product and sink more into the to go packaging than paying "servers" a decent rate. Although the last time I ordered to go it was in generic packaging rather than the fancy black and gold branded packaging I'd gotten every other time so maybe they're on their way out, like so many other Nashville restaurants. read more

The seats were very comfortable. The Waiters were so kind and attentive, and the food was...AMAZING homemade and fresh wish we had one in my home town. (For the Germantown location) Food was good, but otherwise would not recommend. The environment was pretty loud and crowded, and the atmosphere did not match the prices. There is no waitstaff, so you order and pay by phone, which was a disappointment. Basic cocktails were $17, they had paper cups for water, and we kept having to flag down staff when we needed anything (like silverware). To me, the expectation of classic Italian without any personal interaction was disappointing. Food was good but I probably won't be back. read more

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary & my birthday a few days late at PennePazze on 9/8. We've been here a few times and always love their excellent food, great wines, beautiful atmosphere, and incredibly nice staff. I was a little hesitant to try this place at first because the pictures on their website looked pretty generic, but I was completely fooled once I actually had their food. Everything was bursting with flavor and far exceeded my expectations. My husband had the Nonna Paula topped with four cheese, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, confit garlic, and olive oil and it was full of flavor and so satisfying. My kids went for the Carbonara Tagliatelle, a creamy egg yolk sauce pasta topped with crunchy pancetta, and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Pinsa Maila with tomato sauce, mozzarella, salami, sausage, and porchetta and added burrata over the top which made it even better. All the pinsas are finished with basil and olive oil and mine was incredible. One of the best parts is that you can add extras to your dishes which makes it so tempting I wanted to try them all. We sat out on the patio which felt private and intimate and it was the perfect setting for a relaxed dinner. The ordering style is interesting since you place your order and pay through a QR code but the staff is still very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. read more

PennePazze is THE place you want to go when craving pasta and Italian food. Couldn't just pick one entree, so we chose multiple and all shared! The lasagna was really good, but not as great as the Broccoli/4 cheese pasta or the Gnocci (which was my absolute favorite dish of the night). The arugula salad was also very delicious - I could eat that every day! Also, the cannoli's were amazing, but stuffed with chocolate instead of being more traditional. The concept is interesting - you walk in, order at a counter and then seat yourself! They have a TV that shows the orders their working on, and those that are ready to be picked up. It took about 25 minutes to get our food! Highly recommend, I can't wait to go back and try more dishes! read more

A local friend of ours recently told us this was one of the best Italian restaurants in Nashville. After 3 years here, my husband and I finally made it to PennePazze and I can't believe we waited this long! It's located at L&L Market on the first floor, with plenty of parking, which made it very convenient. We sat at a large group table indoors and ended up having it all to ourselves. Gerald, the GM, welcomed us and couldn't have been nicer as he walked us through the menu, the fresh pastas made in-house, and how to order with the QR code. At his suggestion, I went with the Nonna Paula pasta with chicken, and it was honestly the best pesto I've ever had, achingly flavorful! The portion was generous too. My husband ordered the Amatriciana and loved it. Adding a touch of chili oil midway gave it a whole new dimension. We left completely impressed and are already planning our return. Next time, the flatbread is at the top of our list. PennePazze just earned a spot in our date-night rotation! read more

This was our first time visiting a restaurant with the type of ordering process used here and not a huge fan. While it is a sit down restaurant, you do not have a wait person to take your order, all orders are done with your phone. Given the type of menu they have, I feel it does a disservice to the restaurant by not having someone to explain some the details about menu items. Even when a server brought something to the table, it was rushed and impersonal. With all of that said, the food was outstanding and helped to redeem for the odd ordering process. Not sure if we would return given the many great dining options in the area. read more

I want to love Penne Pazza, I really do. The good: As far as I'm concerned, this is the best Italian food that I've had in Nashville. Bar none. I've been to Italy and this is real Italian food. Every single item we've ordered has bursted with flavor. The Pinsa (pizza) is fantastic and the pasta dishes off the charts good. You will literally hear people as you walk through saying "This is the best Italian food I've ever had!" The bad (and this is SO easy to rectify): The ordering system. Plain and simple. Look at other less than 5 star reviews. You'll see it. Ordering from the app is wonky and inconsistent. We've had issues of various sorts many times and often ultimately a staff member just writes it down. Fortunately, for the most part, we don't get a prevailing "ok boomer look". But here's another kicker: If you're with another couple, you order, they order, and the food comes out at different times. Sometimes significantly later. It's uncomfortable since either your food starts to get cold, or you eat while they're waiting. But wait, there's more; Once, a very nice staff member, I believe from the kitchen, came and checked on us to see how the food was. He gave us some wonderful insight about how the restaurant started, the owners, etc. So, I said "I love this place except for one thing." Guess what he said? "Don't tell me, the ordering process." What does that say??? You know, yet you won't change it. This place easily deserves 5 stars, but I just can't do it. The food is so good that we continue to eat here, mainly because my wife has more patience than me. I grit my teeth when ordering and try to get through it. It shouldn't be this way. Why not change something that's so obviously causing problems?? Tell me another place in Nashville that has this kind of ordering experience. I really and truly hope the management reads this and responds. I just need to know. Does this concern you? Are you willing to make a simple change to make the Penne Pazze experience fully a 5 star experience? I look forward to your reply. I'll so gladly update this review if you'll just make the change. The good point: the food was good, not spectacular. Definitely better than the average Italian restaurant. The areas for improvement: 1) for new customers to the restaurant it would be helpful if the waitress even asked the patron if they had any questions, were able to navigate the full menu in the app. Our waitress merely said use your phone to see the menu & order. 2) they provide each table with a "call" button but it is useless. We pressed it many times & twice I had to leave the table to go find a waitress to ask a quick or get assistance. 3) we were provided a bottle of water when we first sat down but had to track down our waitress to request a refill 4) it would be grand if all of the plates for the same table are served relatively close together 5) consistency between plates could use improvement. 2 plates were ordered the same at our table but one had significantly more pesto than the other. 5) if you want a waitress to actually do their job, well maybe dine at a different establishment. Where they had an absolute FAIL: I expressed my severe food allergy to the waitress. Her nonchalant response was "they should change gloves between dishes". I had to ask her to double check with the kitchen because I wasn't looking to die today. A food allergy can be life threatening & should be taken seriously! Overall I don't think we would return. The menu was a bit difficult to find everything the restaurants had to offer. The waitress was terrible. If I was her employer I would be looking for a replacement hire. read more

In a town where people claim to have good pasta, and incredibly under deliver many times, leaving one incredibly pissed off, and not satisfied, as well as hating the establishment and dragging it into the mud because of how badly and how much money you spent for a piss poor representation of what Italian food could be.......this place excels and more ways than you can imagine this food really left you with a very satisfying conclusion meaning that you don't have to feel like you left a 72 hour buffet having to crap yourself something silly at the end of the night. This food and the service and the integrity behind it was next to none and our waitress Alley was incredibly helpful and even after the meal was done the owner came and offered his thank you for coming to his establishment, I was with two beautiful ladies, and they felt the same as I did, and boy oh boy as a snob of pasta and someone that has so much integrity when cooking in ways that would be arguably better than your establishment, bowed down to the fact that your food was incredible and I would come back with these two beautiful ladies time and time again and sing your praises. Congrats on the new model opening up in Germantown and we want to thank you for not sucking because sucking sucks when you are trying to eat and spend money like 100 bucks or so and feeling like you wasted your money, I'm tickled that there's no way I felt like I wasted my money here, we felt satisfied it was incredible so good for you. Bummed, but this restaurant just did not deliver quality for me. Stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday. Parking is validated for up to three hours if you visit any L&L market business. Just remember your license plate and then wait to validate when you get to your restaurant/ business - very easy, but a little confusing since you shouldn't scan the QR code where you parked. First - it's a bit confusing to find if you are already in L & L Market. You have to go down some stairs and then you feel like you're in a basement / non restaurant area but the black door with no window actually opens to the restaurant! Tip for the future: Much easier to find this place if you park outside it and just go directly in. The waitress was prompt in seating me inside (it was too hot to sit outside) and she explained how you scan the QR code and order on your phone. I went for one of the pizzas (called Pinsa here, they are going for the native Italian thing). I went for classic flavors of pepperoni with hot honey and also got a bottomless soda to go with it. The sodas are by Stubborn Draft Soda - a craft soda company with classic flavors like Coke and Root Beer and some fun ones like Black Cherry Tarragon and Pineapple Cream Soda. I'm not wild about the stranger flavors (tarragon is overpowering, to me) but the a Coke served me just fine on this visit. My pinsa came rather quickly. No plate provided, just the entire pizza on a serving tray, which was a bit difficult to eat. I like having a dip with my pizza but the waitress was nowhere to be found. Mind you, there was only one other table at the time I came it so it was odd to me she didn't check on me when my food came to make sure all was okay. After almost 10 min, the waitress finally came back over. I asked for ranch for dipping and she told me her chef would be insulted for asking for ranch. It's cool if you don't serve that here, but it was silly to be rude to me, a paying customer about it. I asked for more of the hot honey because the pinsa had very little of it and I was fine with that as a substitute for ranch. She brought it over. Even more hot honey did little to make the pinsa more appetizing. They had put far too much cheese on it and it was falling off the sides and altogether. The pizza dough was rather bland and the whole thing felt like a cheesy, flavorless mess. The pinsa was (unfortunately for me) quite large - ideally shareable between two people, but I could not stomach taking the other half home. When I told the waitress I didn't want a box for my leftovers, she still brought one over. I'm not sure if she was purposely trying to give me bad service, but it was strange. I did like being able to pay for my meal from my phone and be on my way, but the below mediocre food and extremely poor service and just weird vibe of the restaurant in this basement really put me off. I've had catering from here before at events and remembered liking it, but it felt like the in person restaurant experience was entirely different food. Not too keen on returning, especially when there are loads of other wonderful eateries at L&L to choose from. read more

Truly outstanding. The pasta is unbelievable. Great portions and fantastic service. Highly, highly recommend.

The food is excellent, best tasting pizza this side of Eufala, Oklahoma! Service was great, but they weren't very busy; we were the early dinner "crowd". Order with your phone using a QR code, needed some instructions for that part. Not really intuitive. The place considers itself Italian, but the interior is starkly modern; no vineyard pictures on the walls, no Italian maps, no Italian sayings or slogans. Uncomfortable chairs for a better turnover.
