We finally made it to Luogo's this past Friday for a family birthday dinner, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Our server, Jason, took great care of us from start to finish. He recommended some fantastic drinks and guided us through the menu with excellent suggestions. From the appetizers to the entrées, every bite was outstanding. The only "disappointment" of the evening was having to wait for the cannolis--but they were well worth it. Absolutely delicious! Not one to take pictures of the presentation, but considered doing so. Nevertheless, the pictures don't convey the flavors. No picture could capture how great those were! We'll definitely be back. We were in Nashville for a few weeks and passed Luogo every day to and from work. It looked beautiful, it was always packed, so one night we decided to stop in. We know why it's packed now. The interior is stunning, the service was on point. Professional and personable at the same time. We had the pleasure of sitting outside on a beautiful evening. It was perfect. We started with the tuna tartare and marinated octopus. I'm iffy when it comes to octopus. If it isn't done right, it's horrific. This was so tender, sliced thin, and was a perfect bite with the chilled potatoes. The tuna tartare was equally as good, but the octopus stole show. The tuna has a burnt orange vinaigrette around the outside of the plate. It's more than just a garnish. Make sure you get a bite with the tuna. For dinner we had the bolognese, duck ragu, and braised short rib. All three dishes melted in your mouth. The duck was my favorite, I added a little whipped ricotta to each bite and it was just 10/10. For dessert I asked if they could make a pistachio martini, and gave them the ingredients. Their bartender hadn't heard of one, free poured it, and absolutely nailed it. The cannoli filling was too sweet and too thick for me. It tasted like thick buttercream icing. Personal preference, but I prefer a lighter filling. All in all, I would say don't walk to Luogo...RUN. Reservations are highly recommended. read more

While the restaurant's decor is beautifully done and sets a great ambiance, the overall experience unfortunately didn't live up to the aesthetic. We arrived for a 7:00 PM reservation and were seated quickly. The host was warm and welcoming, letting us know our server would be right out. However, we waited about 15 minutes just to have our drink order taken. When our Limoncello Margaritas arrived, they were a major disappointment--watered down, lacking flavor, and with no detectable alcohol. On a positive note, the meatball appetizer (one large, delicious meatball cut into four) was excellent and the highlight of the night. Unfortunately, the entrees didn't maintain that standard; my rigatoni and my coworker's pappardelle with duck ragu were mediocre at best. Dined at Luogo's for my husband's birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience. Was it over the top memorable?? No. Nevertheless, it was a good meal. I would definitely recommend the meatballs as an appetizer but skip the Calamari and/or the Chopped Salad. For the entrees my son loved the Gnocchi but the Chicken Piccata was a little funky for me as they have it on mashed potatoes instead of pasta. For dessert, the Gelato was huge and very tasty. The cannolis were super yummy but the cheesecake wasn't that flavorful, albeit large and enough to share. Parking is a $15 valet and very easy to manage. Overall, good solid restaurant. read more

We celebrated a birthday here and enjoyed the food and bright, beautiful decor. The chicken, veal parmesan, and grilled octopus were all very good, and we appreciated the birthday card from the team. That said, the prices feel inflated for what you receive. Expecting guests to pay extra for complimentary standards like table bread or a small side dish of plain pasta takes away from the warm, high-end Italian experience you'd expect at this price point. Let me start off by saying I went here when it first opened and I was blown away. I recently went and I was a little disappointed. They must have changed the menu because they did not have my favorite dish, spaghetti with white clams. I recently ordered the lasagna and it was insanely dry and over cooked. It was the Monday special and it seems at 7pm to be sitting out all day. The potato and zucchini chips had way too much Gorgonzola that it took away from the chip flavor and texture making them soggy. The service was great! Friendly waiters, however, it was odd the waitress tried to up sell us on everything we ordered. The ambiance was nice. Overall vibes, decor, and service were all impeccable. The appetizers we ordered were all phenomenal. The meatball appetizer is easily one of the best meatballs I've ever had. Authentic Italian! Recommendations from our server, Hunter, were all on point. Four ladies in our party, all with very different dishes we were debating between. Hunter helped us settle between gnocchi and Fritto Misto, chicken Marsala and meatballs, Tiramisu and cheesecake, the list goes on and on. Each and every thing we had was delicious - Arancini and Burrata to start. Arancini is normally 3 Risotto balls, somehow we got lucky and it came with 4. Burrata with prosciutto was delicious and creamy, also worth noting there is something very special about the flavor of the balsamic vinegar on the arugula. We actually ate all of the arugula because it was so good. My duck ragu was excellent, full of fresh tomato flavor that complemented the duck. Fresh pasta was cooked perfectly, and tableside topped with fresh grated cheese. Service was very attentive, and we were visited by the Manager as well as the Sommelier. With such different tastes, we opted out of ordering a bottle of wine on this visit but they had a great selection on offer. Portions were plentiful and none of us finished our entrees. The backwaiter was very kind in boxing and individually bagging each of our entrees, and later, the unfinished desserts we had to have. Our table for four was in the middle of the dining area. It was a bit loud for an intimate conversation, but after a cocktail, we no longer noticed. Pulled up to Luogo to take the wife and fam out for her birthday, so you know I had to roll in with a little style. Valet was fifteen bucks. Yeah, I know there's parking across the street, but sometimes you gotta flex a bit lol especially when it's wifey's birthday. Inside, the vibe was coo. For my plates I had the Frito Misto which was crispy salty seafood goodness and straight up delish. The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was good and I would not have been mad at a couple more slices. The Beef Meatball alla Toscana was basically a whole meal in itself. All it needed was some toasted Italian bread and room temp butter. The Creamy Polenta was an ok side but I would choose a different one next time. Just personal preference don't hate : ) I did do the Pasta Tax tho and tried everyone's food lol. All smackin, all worth stealing a forkful. Closed out with the Ricotta Cheesecake and a Limoncello on the rocks. Cheesecake was bomb, fluffy and creamy. We went to Luogo with friends to celebrate my birthday. My husband made a reservation and when we got there we were seated right away! The decor and layout was so chic and I loved all the lemon painted walls. Our server was great and very knowledgeable, gave us great recommendations and helpful with everything! The manager came to our table and introduced himself, the rest of the wait staff was great also, very attentive! We got 4 appetizers; large Meatball, zucchini chips, fritto misto, and ceasar salad. Food was all goooooood and not nearly as expensive as I'd heard. Portions were generous, too. We had 9 people (including an infant!) and tried many dishes with no disappointments. The food and service here were phenomenal. We started with the meatball, arancini, and salmon crudo. The crudo is a small portion but it was easily my favorite of the starters. I had the gnocchi and loved it. My boyfriend had the chicken Marsala and we all thought the sauce was excellent. They have a nice wine and cocktail list available as well. They have a chips Gorgonzola thing that is also tremendous Because Thursday, they had veal special which was tender and giant. While incredibly full, we did get the cannoli dessert. It's basically a whole bunch of to tiny cannolis in a giant one! Who says no Server was excellent but definitely giving us the upsell. It's fine. We started with the Beef Meatball alla Toscana, which was rich in flavor and seasoned beautifully. It could've been served hotter, but the taste made up for it. Before that, we were given breadsticks that were more like hardened pretzels -- not our favorite -- but the spiced olives packed a flavorful punch and balanced things out. For mains, my queen had the Pocantini with Charred Cauliflower -- bold flavors, but she didn't quite finish it. I went with the Pappardelle with Duck Ragù, which was delicious overall, though a few bites of duck were overly firm and almost bone-like. Still, the pasta itself was cooked to perfection and carried the sauce beautifully. Service was a bit inconsistent. Emma, our server, was sweet but disappeared for long stretches. Our drink from the bar took quite a while and had to be tracked down -- though to be fair, they did comp it in the end, which we appreciated. The real showstopper? That creamy ricotta cheesecake. They brought it out with a sparkler, and it felt like a mini 4th of July celebration at our table. Light, indulgent, and the perfect birthday touch. Heads up on parking -- valet is on 12th Street and will run you $15. Not ideal, but manageable if you're prepared. All in all, Lugo delivered on atmosphere, flavor, and celebration. We all really enjoyed their summer caprese with peaches. The focaccia was also very good. The service was great. I liked my pasta (the fettuccini) but I would give it like a 7/10. We came here on a Friday evening and it is a very pretty space. It is a lively but it a little loud, my mom had a hard time hearing. Overall I think the food is good but the cost for the quality is a little steep. My favorite item was the braised short ribs which was great. I understand that the Gulch is a high real estate area but I travel A LOT and the pricing here rivaled what I've spent on 4 and 5 star meals in NYC, which is crazy. Our service was great. The Burrata was delicious and was a perfect size for two people. The Octopus was good and we were shared it greatly between four people. For the main course, I got the Chianti Braised Short Rib with Creamy Mashed Potatoes. It was melt in your mouth amazing. So flavorful and tender. My husband got the Bolognese. My wife and I love Luogo's sister restaurant, Pelato, so we were very excited to come here for Valentine's Day. However, the taste of the meal just didn't live up to the expectations. We started our meal with a nice glass of wine and the Luogo 75 cocktail, both of which were tasty. We also had a red prawn scampi special and it was pretty good overall; the bread that came with it was a bit hard, but the dish was nice overall. However, the big letdown of the meal was our main course, the branzino. Branzino is one of our favorite dishes and it was actually why we came here in the first place. The fish was cooked well, but it had no flavor at all. Simple preparation is best with branzino, but it was just completely lacking in flavor and the accompanying vegetables were bland as well, so we definitely wouldn't recommend getting it. We were able to finish our meal on a high note though as we tried the olive oil gelato and amaretto gelato, both of which were unique and very tasty. We also had an espresso martini and their homemade limoncello, which were also good and both drinks we'd recommend. Our service was good throughout the meal despite it being a very busy weekend, but the bland main dish was a huge disappointment for us and killed the meal overall. I can recommend the drinks and definitely the gelato, but I wouldn't recommend the branzino here and we likely won't be returning again. read more

When my meal arrived, it was lukewarm. I expressed my concerns and the manager brought out a hot dish with polenta. I have my Nashville favs; the city has such a brilliant restaurant scene. But we resolved this year to break out and explore new places, even if they were not all that new. Luogo was where we began and we quickly added it to our favorites. What a great experience, from the attentive, professional service to the relaxed setting. The food set it apart. Brilliantly concocted cocktails; a wine list that was reasonable yet full of great choices. The best Ceasar salad in Nashville. Creative and generous appetizers. The eggplant pie was a delightful surprise, for instance. We will need plenty of visits to explore all of the pastas and entrees, but we began well with the seafood pasta with mussels, shrimp, salmon and more. What a rich dish, with such a mix of flavors. Wow! Then we took the plunge, into the desserts. We stayed away from the pastries and cake and chose the amaretto ice cream and the lemon sorbet. First of all - bonus stars to our server Simran. Some of the best service I've had at any Nashville restaurant. I chose this restaurant because they have such great gluten free options. I was so excited to have arancini and they were INCREDIBLE! But also massive - one order is 3 tennis ball sized balls. Splitting that between two people, we were already full after that! They had gluten free pasta to sub for any pasta dish. So fun to have gluten free pasta that isn't just penne! I wanted the pesto, but I didn't love it. More of a personal preference so I wasn't even going to say anything about it but Simran noticed I didn't eat it and offered to take it off the bill and bring me a different entree. Luogo is truly a beautiful restaurant with a more luxe and chic vibe, it didn't feel like I was in Nashville! I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese which was absolutely delicious. It was a big portion so if you plan to go out after, you may not know what to do with your leftovers! We also ordered a Ceasar Salad. Be warned that it does not come chopped, but they gladly will if you ask! Very good! We also shared Arancini. It was very good and crunchy but if you're not big on cheese you may not love this as it is full of cheese, for others that's a major plus! I also had an Espresso Martini which was also very good!
