My favorite bagel in town! I lived in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania as a sprout, so you can imagine my pretentiousness when it comes to bagels. I love a perfectly executed bagel in the same way that Dale Cooper loves a damn fine cup of coffee. As such, I had kind of given up hope to find an actual bagel in town. Bagels are my birthright. I am a New Jerseyan / New Yorker that left the godless north for Nashville 10+ years ago. I was so afraid I would never have another good bagel again that I literally took bagel-baking classes at the Culinary Institute of America. I was right to be scared. For years, Nashville bagels were just bread donuts. Soft circles of steamed sadness committing breakfast fraud. The kind of thing someone hands you and says, "It's basically the same," right before you question every decision that led you south. Then this place showed up. It started as a pop-up inside TKO, R.I.P., and now it has taken over the whole space. This place gets it right. The bagels are boiled, rolled, baked, chewy, crusty, and spiritually accurate. Not "good for Nashville." Not "pretty close." Just really freaking good bagels. No apologies needed. The place looks the way a bagel shop is supposed to look. Concrete floors. Friendly chaos. People working hard behind the counter. And the people? That's the real thing. Mr. Aaron, his wife, and the whole crew are amazing. They know your name. They bust your chops. You bust theirs. That is community. That is customer service with a pulse. They even have a Mets fan, which proves their commitment to authenticity and long-term emotional damage. It's the kind of place you want to go every day, if your wallet, doctor, and basic sense of shame weren't constantly trying to ruin your life. Nashville finally has a real bagel place. I do not say that lightly. I say that as a man who has opinions about crust, chew, schmear, water, and most things. But this place rules. Go. Eat. Complain about the Mets. Order another bagel. After hearing about Mr. Aaron's for months, I finally realized it was in the Inglewood area and that I have driven by or near this spot without even knowing it was there! But in my defense, they are located on the backside of an unassuming brick complex located directly on Gallatin Pike in Inglewood, and the only roadside notice of their existence is a wooden sign. I guess that adds to the mystique of this spot...hidden in plain sight slinging some tasty and fresh bagels for the folks in NE Nashville! I came in seeking a bagel and a coffee, and I was able to get both without issue. I went with a classic iced coffee and the BEC on a plain bagel. I was a little bummed to see several of their bagel varieties sold out, even though I made it in about 20 minutes after opening. I guess that just leaves more reason to come back. The coffee was solid and the BEC was tasty. The bagel was crisp on the outside, pillowy on the inside and stacked with a good amount of bacon, a nice egg and gooey cheese. In addition to bagel and coffee, the strategically placed cookies from River & Wood were calling out, so I scooped one of those up as well. Service was okay. I wouldn't describe the associate at the counter as friendly, but also not as rude. Slightly indifferent probably best describes. It was a rainy and cold early morning, so I will chalk it up to that. Delicious spot for a breakfast treat! Some of the best bagels you will find in Nashville, they also offer really unique spreads for the bagels but be sure to get there early because they do run out. The staff is very friendly and the cashier was super patient with me as I tried to figure out their menu. They use abbreviations! A fun spot for a tasty breakfast! I've heard Mr. Aaron's can get pretty busy, but I stopped in early with a friend on a weekday and didn't encounter much of a crowd at all. I'm a big bagel fan (seriously, it's the perfect breakfast food), and these bagels totally satisfy that craving. I went with a classic order - a toasted everything bagel with some of their veggie cream cheese. My friend ordered a sausage egg and cheese with an added hash brown. The cream cheese was delicious - definitely veggie forward, with some fun textures throughout. The bagels themselves are on the softer side, which I'm a fan of too. Service was quick, and there's even a free parking lot right behind the restaurant, which is worth noting since that's such a rarity these days in Nashville. My wife and I shared an everything bagel with scallion schmear and it was better than any bagel I've ever had anywhere in the world and we also shared the Bacon, egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Hands down the best bagel in town. The BEC was absolutely perfect and the lox was surprisingly not *too* messy despite generous portions of toppings. We got bagels to go and they heat up super fresh from our freezer. We went at peak time on a Saturday morning and there was quite a crowd, but they were well equipped for it. Pretty solid egg + cheese. Eggs are a bit overcooked (shouldn't be browned at all). Cheese is different than your typical orange cheddar, which was a good change of pace. The bagels were delicious, and they definitely get busy for a good reason. My spouse is from Jersey, so naturally, the standards are pretty high. The only thing we weren't huge fans of was the price, $65 for 3 bagel sandwiches and a dozen bagels feels a bit crazy. But other than that, I highly recommend this spot! read more

Thx to Eater I went this morning. I love bagels but rarely eat them so I was really hoping this was going to be great and IT WAS!!! Toasted everything bagel with 1/2 plain and 1/2 scallion. I ordered a ELO Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel and it was one of the best bagels I've had in town. I always try new bagel spots with the same order that I get everywhere and this one lived up to the hype. It's a little on the saltier side but I couldn't tell if they were just using a more sodium rich lox than what I've been used to. I tried the everything bagel with cream cheese to start but I'm excited to go back and try their cool ranch bagel or cream cheese. My husband had a breakfast bagel sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. The sausage was very good. It's located in the same space as TKO. Modern, nice plants, and it was kid-friendly. I was really impressed with Mr. Aaron's bagel effort. Crispy on the outside and chewy (not "bready") on the inside. This is really the first place I have found "true east coast" type bagels. There are other good bagel shops like H&S, Proper Bagel, etc. This place is a standout. I would also like to give a shout out to their fresh pasta and sauces, dips, other kitchen pantry ephemera that is available- that must be "the goods". My husband and I drove over from hendersonville because we saw the bagel sandwich special they had ON IG. Sausage burger on sesame or your voice (we got everything bagel) with all the stuff. It's inside tko - which we've only ever had via delivery, and is always bomb. Super good and def plan to come back, hopefully when the bar is going too, I think that may be later in the day. If I could give this place 6 stars or 10 stars or 100 stars I would. Quite possibly the best bagels I've ever had, made fresh daily via wok. The everything bagel is always my go to, and it's divine. Fresh smears if you like. Extremely nice owners, great service. Everything on the menu is delicious; you really can't go wrong. The SEC (sausage, egg, & cheese) is my go to for breakfast; the Italian or BLT are the sammies I go for at lunch. Fresh made pasta is in the fridge beyond the register. Grab the meatball or granny sauce to go with the pasta, if available. I almost forgot to mention the pizza bagel is pretty swell as well. They operate out of TKO, and there is plenty of seating if you'd like to dine in. Be advised that they do frequently sell out of items, so go earlier rather than later. And we also got a BLT on a cheddar jalapeño bagel, at the suggestion of who I think might have been Mr. Aaron himself- which was also amazing.
