We were seated in the main area and our server stopped by quickly, she was great, went over the menu and made suggestions when we had questions. I tried the Nashville Amber beer; it was very smooth and light and I enjoyed it. We started with the Big Italian salad, it was enough to split, I got it without cheese. It was great. I am newly into olives so I ordered Olives and Oven Bread. I wasn't a fan of the olives, they were so hot temperature wise, I couldn't eat them till after the pizza, and they were just to much seasoning for me. I loved the Oven bread. Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. A great char from the oven. For pizza we ordered the classic Margherita and added pepperoni. I was delicious! Lots of pepperoni, great chew on the crust. yum! On our way out we chatted with the manager, he was super nice and I enjoyed talking food with him. My husband and I had our wedding at Nicky's Coal Fired, and we could not recommend it enough. Caroline, the co-owner was quick to answer our inquiry, provided us a PDF of what they offer for private events and quoted us a very reasonable price for a food and drink minimum for 120 guests for a seated dinner. Their food and drink minimum included set up, clean up, servers, bartenders, A/V system, plenty of free parking, and a day of coordinator who was amazing. We met with our day of coordinator, Katie, a couple of times before the wedding, and she was also very easy to communicate with via e-mail. She made the day of our wedding run very smoothly so we didn't have to worry and were able to enjoy ourselves. Nicky's also has a lovely atmosphere with a modern and industrial feel, with brick walls, high ceilings, large windows, wood floors, mid-century modern art and lighting. Our guests had a great time and still talk about the food, especially the focaccia bread. The staff start prepping the food well before Nicky's opens and make everything from scratch including their bread, pasta, and pizza dough, which is very evident in its fresh taste. Before and after our wedding, we have dined-in several times and have always had excellent, friendly service. Our favorite night to go to Nicky's is Tuesdays for the $10 pizza. I recommend Nicky's to anyone looking to plan an stress-free private event with yummy, fresh food or just looking for a quick and delicious meal at a cozy, locally-owned Italian restaurant. Beautifully decorated for the holidays! I'm so glad I came here for the Christmas pop up. It definitely put me in the holiday spirit. Food and drinks were really good. The pizza was phenomenal, the wood fired crust was light and tastes better with the coal fired method than a regular oven. For the table, we got the garlic bread and I can drink the homemade marinara. So fresh and the bread was baked perfectly. For the pizza, we for the pleased to meat you and think of a meats lover pizza but not too heavy. It had Spanish chorizo salami, Pepperoni, and Italian sausage. The espresso martini was delicious, they added some holiday touches to it. They have a great happy hour but sadly we missed it due to the wait, but I'll be back! read more

Nicky's has been on my list of restaurants to try since I moved to Nashville over 3 years ago! So to say I had built up anticipation would be an understatement. Lauren was our server and she was so sweet and attentive the entire time. She answered all of my menu questions and made sure we had an incredible experience. She is fantastic! We got the Classic Margherita (heart-shaped for upcoming Valentine's Day), warm olives (only $5 on HH), Tiramisu (MUST ORDER ITEM!!) and my friend's little girl ate for free from the kid's menu because kids eat free on Mondays! Everything was phenomenal and was made quickly by the kitchen. Nicky's absolutely exceeded every expectation I had and it was SO worth the 3 year wait! Me and a friend went to "Saint Nicky's" because we wanted to do something festive but low key and heard good things. We started with the focaccia which was like a crunch cloud - perfect! She got the ravioli and I got the ragu with fun tree pasta. Her ravioli butter sauce was quite rich according to her. The ragu was perfect and the fun pasta shape was a perfect temperature. I loved the music (they played a lot from the 80s made for tv classic "once upon a Christmas" with Kenny & Dolly which I loved). Lots of fun decorations inside and out. It was like a Christmas nostalgia capsule dialed up to 11. Can't wait to go back next year, but until then I'll still go visit for a less festive but equally delicious meal! read more

They're the Soup Nazi's of Nashville. Great product, and they know it. But it comes with attitude. If you're ordering online for pickup, good luck. They cut off online orders very early in the evening, some nights, not others, with no explanation. They don't answer the phone and don't respond to email. They also add the sneaky gratuities charge into the bill and don't tell you. If you're not careful, you end up tipping twice. I give them 5 stars for pizza and 1-2 stars for service. First time using Nicky's for catering and certainly won't be the last. I worked with Caroline who is a gem, and a fellow Chicagoan! Menu first... phenomenal. They cater to you. Need gluten free? Done. Need vegan? Done. So helpful for work events. I ordered so much: kale Caesar, cauliflower app, chicken piccata, famous meatballs, a few pastas, tiramisu and some cannolis. Everyone raved about the food! My personal favorites were the salad and meatballs. Caesar dressing was so fresh and the red sauce with the meatballs you should jar. When the meeting was over I legitimately scraped the extra sauce into a ball jar and took home. Best red sauce ever, and I'm critical. Delivery was a breeze and they were perfectly on time. My first experience here was not good. It was not because of the restaurant, but they were having an event and way too many people showed up which meant we kept getting hit by people passing us and I was annoyed the entire time. I believe the pizza was suffering due to the sheer size of the crowd, but it's been a hot minute since that and I recall that I liked it. Skip some pretty good but not remarkable visits. My last experience with this place involved me and the fam absolutely demolishing the tastiest pizza I've had at a (currently existing) sit down in the state. It was one of those pizzas I will have to learn significantly more words for describing how the flavors complemented each other and nearly everything screamed "this is done right, yup." My kids who are not pizza oriented like me both destroyed their offerings (except the crust because my kids are weird,) and we had crust to dip in flavorful marinara sauce. I've had a few experiences here but that last one was something I still think about and you know, I'm just going to have to go there when it's not busy again and try some more. While it may be a faulty memory talking I'm pretty sure the place gets tastier when it's not packed... or time has just made them better. read more

I want to start by saying I want to give a 4.5 star review. This place is definitely better than good, but I pretty much require perfection to give a 5. Anyway, I went for dinner with my daughter, her husband, her friend, and my infant grandson after going to see the lights at Cheekwood. I really thought there would be a wait at 7 p.m. but we were seated quickly. Maybe it's because it was the Sunday after Thanksgiving and people were tired of eating. I originally chose Nicky's for their Christmas pop-up decorations and themed drinks and was not disappointed. The lights and decorations were abundant and my cocktail was delicious. We shared two pizzas - the Santa's Super Shroom and St. Pasqual the Second. Both were delicious and I really liked how thin the crust was. The focaccia was definitely a favorite. Hands down Nicky's makes delicious and fresh Italian cuisine. They are known for their meatballs and yesterday I finally tried them--huge and full of flavor! Typically, I'm not a spaghetti and meatball kinda gal, but I thoroughly enjoyed this entree. Might I add that this dish is big enough to share or pair with something else and have leftovers (as I did with my salad). Went there with my boyfriend for his 21st birthday (we're both men). Got seated at a table directly in the sun despite the restaurant being empty. Waited half an hour for a server to show up, and none did. Yet other people who were seated after us were not only placed in the shade, but served fast. When we went to walk out, the host was incredibly dismissive and apathetic. Not sure whether it was homophobia (which is incredibly two faced given that they decorated with pride flags. Capitalism at its finest I suppose) or the fact that we are both college students, so they didn't think we'd be big spenders. Though mind you we were dressed up in button downs and slacks (and would've spend a sizable amount plus a generous tip had the service been even somewhat friendly). What an incredible time I had last night. I went for the first time with my parents who have been before - they were taken a back that there's now a wait staff. The service was incredible. I give very few restaurants a 5/5. This restaurant earned it! Food is so fresh and delicious! The Burrata with heirloom tomatoes and watermelon was the freshest thing I ate in Nashville. Their pizza is thin crust with great flavor and a variety of toppings to choose from. Corn and bay scallops pasta was full of flavor in a creamy sauce. Pasta with red sauce was simple yet perfectly cooked. Not many restaurants cook their pasta perfectly al dente but Nicky's knocked it out of the park. Kale Caesar salad was very tasty and healthy. My husband hates kale and he even ate it! Service was phenomenal. It is a casual place where you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I think it may be a Nashville thing. There's patio seating and inside is beautifully decorated with modern decor. They have a full bar and TVs at the bar if you want to sit at the bar and catch a game. It is a mom & pop shop and I was more than happy to support a local business. I loved it so much I made sure I went back right before they closed to order two more meals. Highly recommend! read more

Nicky's is the name, pizza is the fame and long line waiting was the game! This coal fired pizzeria had all the fun & glorious holiday decor for Christmas time! The pizza was delicious. The service was overall pleasant. I'm just really glad I didn't know how long of a wait we were in for upon arrival, or I probably would've bounced. Not sure if this is the norm or it's mostly because of the whole Christmas vibe. I mean this place is totally decked out so you'll notice on social media. The certainly put a lot of effort into the interior decor. It's impressive. Standing in line outside in the cold isn't ideal. Definitely would not do it alone; And just when you think you're close and your time in line is ending, you get inside the building to see that you are only half way!! Because like an amusement park ride, the line must curl and wrap around lol. This may not be everyone's experience, especially outside of the holiday period, but it was mine. They offered a holiday drink menu while outside in line. We didn't partake. There is a patio also. While the food is tasty, it seems to me a bit overpriced. Even while splitting a pizza and a salad, my friend and I still both spent at least $50-60 individually. (we each had an alcoholic beverage too) You order and pay before you're even seated which was a bit different to me for a sit-down dine-in. For our salad, which came out first, we did the kale caesar which was a good size and enjoyable. We had some kind of White Pizza that included ricotta, other cheese and mushroom I believe, which was good. For my bubbles I had the Snowflake Spritz which was prosecco, raspberry, pomegranate & snowflake swirl for $14. By the amount of drink in the glass, I felt a little short changed (even when comparing to my friend's and others), but hopefully the glass was larger than it seemed. She had the Frozen Egg Nog and enjoyed it but agreed on my small serving size. I'm happy we got to experience Nicky's in all it's west Nash instagrammable glory. I enjoyed the food & company, but not sure I'd rush back because I am not a fan of standing in lines. If I pulled up and saw it, I may reverse and find another place. There were some people who did just that once they got to line. If you want tasty coal fired pizza or Italian cuisine in a cool bar, try this place out. Just beware of long lines when there's a Holiday pop up buzz a-buzzin. Perhaps it's not so bad when you go close to Christmas, be prepared to dedicate 1.5 hrs of standing waiting and $50+ to dining. I came here with some friends around 5:20 pm on a Thursday. Unbeknownst to us, they were having happy hour until 5:30 pm. I was a little annoyed because I had checked their Instagram, website, and Nashville guru to see if there was a happy hour but it only mentioned happy hour from Monday- Wednesday. So I am not sure if it was a one off happy hour or what. Anyways, we ordered the happy hour pizza for $10 and got a glass of wine for $5. You order at the host stand and take a number and they'll find you. I got the margherita pizza and it was quite delicious!!! I would definitely eat this again. My friend got their Christmas pasta, which I did not get a good photo of at all, and it was also delicious! Once we sat down, we were able to order more drinks and food using a QR code. This was a nice feature, and it may have been because they were so busy. I'll say I understand the usefulness of the QR code, but generally if I'm going to a restaurant I do like the personal feeling and talking with the waiter. This is a personal preference for sure. And again once we ordered stuff with the QR code it was very easy, quick, and efficient getting our orders to the table!! The other thing I did not like was the presentation of the drink I ordered. I ordered a holiday drink from the menu! I was pretty excited because I had seen some drinks come out with candy cane rims or gingerbread men. However, my drink didn't have any of that holiday pizzaz so I was a little bummed. The drink itself was delicious. There is parking in the lot which is very nice. The Christmas sweaters hanging up were a nice touch. It felt festive. I would visit again because the food was really good, but with the understanding that I order from the host stand and won't have a server in person experience. When sitting at your table, you can scan a QR code and order drinks right to you which is great when they are busy and a server can't come to you. I ordered the corn and scallop spaghetti, but there was some confusion between the guy taking the order and I so the food runner brought out spaghetti & meatballs. After saying I wanted the other spaghetti, they brought out the correct one within 5 minutes no problem. And it was DELICIOUS! So much flavor and it was good as leftovers the next day. Love this place so much! The pizza is Neapolitan style, some of the best in Nashville. If they have the scallop and corn spaghetti available, you have to get it. It was creamy and delicious.
