I started this as a 4 star review because there was a really long wait for my pizza. (Tip: order ahead!) But as I sat and waited for said pizza, I learned why. This place is IN DEMAND. This pizza was SOOOO good and is honestly one of my favorites in Nashville. The crust is so crispy with cornmeal on the bottom and there's so much variety of toppings and unique flavor combos. What surprised me is how good their vegan pizza is--I even prefer it over some of the traditional meat and cheese options. The cashier grabbed my pizza with his bare hands for the other employees to heat up. Immediately after checking out at the register the same cashier pulled up rugs and swept the floors. As a customer, I'm left with the question: Was he cleaning right before grabbing my pizza with his bare hands? While the cashier was cleaning I notified another employee who heated up two different slices of pizza for me after I made them aware of the situation. Nothing was said to this employee about his actions. If this occurs openly at the counter/front of the store it makes me wonder what type of priority hand hygiene/sanitation is behind the counter. The interior has charm though limited seating, so plan to get takeout unless it's nice outside and you want to use the generous outdoor seating options. I appreciated the fresh toppings (5/5), the crust was OK (3/5) though there are more doughy, delicious options around, and the overall flavor was good. The staff asked discretely if my kids would like cookies and discretely packed them, which was a great unexpected touch in this area. The salads are large (and I don't mean the even larger family-sized ones), so we shared a salad and large pizza for two adults and two little ones, and all were satisfied with just enough room for the cookies. I recommend Two Boots over a lot of the bar food in the area, so give it a try. Got a pickup order of a calzone with mozzarella, ricotta, mushrooms, pepperoni, and bell peppers, came with two containers of marinara as well. The calzone was HUGE! Oh no, I don't like giving "bad" reviews...located near our hotel, we decided to order a pie and pick it up to enjoy in our room. I called around 5pm and placed our order of The Bird and an order of garlic knots. The friendly guy on the phone said it would be ready in 15 minutes but we asked if we could make it ready at 6pm and he said yes! We ended up arriving a little early; 550pm. The parking lot has about 20 spaces in it. Inside it was really neat retro look and I loved the VHS tapes that appeared to be all my favorite classics. The guys working all greeted everyone as they came in, when I gave them my name they said my order was about to go in the oven and would be about 9-10 minutes. We were early so no problem at all! We got our pizza and in the short ride home we both kept licking our lips because the pizza smelled soooo good! But...the pizza was bland. My hubby asked me twice if it was "hot chicken" and I read the description for him "it says buffalo chicken" couldn't take the blue cheese...the crust was good I suppose...crispy. But the toppings were super bland. The garlic knots were dough balls with large amounts of Parmesan cheese on them...service and ambiance have 4-5 stars from us. The food left everything at 2 stars. Though I have not tried every pizza, yet I have tried many and so far, Two Boots is probably my favorite in Nashville. I had a slice of the pepperoni and their Nashville Hot Chicken slice. Both slices were wonderful, and I ask them to cook them a little longer for that extra crisp and they knew how I liked my pizza and that I was a pizza fan in general. Everyone working at was great to deal with it and the interior of the place was the kind of place you wanted to hang out at. I came here with my partner after a long day at the lab. As a New Yorker, I have high standards when it comes to pizza. This was probably the closest we have gotten to an authentic New York slice. It does help that the business started in New York though. I would say the place gets pretty busy on weekends, especially at night. We went on a Saturday and despite the amount of people, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance had a lot of retro themed items like the old tv and the vhs tapes.
