Today we had the fried wontons, grilled beef and the grilled chicken. The fried wontons I wasn't a fan of, but Eric loved them; which was surprising because h isn't a fan of sweet and sour sauce. I love the grilled chicken, its tender, savory and perfect when you get some lettuce and rice with it. The chicken broth that comes with the grilled dishes is so great; it has chives, onion, broccoli and carrots in it. The grilled beef was sweet and smoky with a hint of char to it. Whenever I would call in a order to-go, I always do 2-3 orders for other people and every time I called in, they always screw up one way or another. I'll ask for no cilantro and jalapeno's and SURPRISE!!!! There's the cilantro and jalapeno's in my order. I don't know if it was because I was really hungry, but I grew up my whole life eating pho. Because my dad is Asian pho was my first food. I was so excited when I saw this pho restaurant, but when I was reading the menu it had a definition of what pho is... I was concerned. I thought it was going to be extremely americanized, boy was I wrong. It was the best pho I had ever eaten. I also had the spring rolls and they were delicious! I love this place because of their food...but that's just about it. The service there is horrible. Every time I go there, I am always waiting to be served. I used to come here when they first open and it was really good for a Vietnamese spot in humble. I came tonight and got the spring rolls and pho DAC biet. Spring rolls were hard no vegetables and seemed as if they'd been sitting. The pho had plenty of meat decent broth but could be better. I love the spring rolls!! On a hot Texas day it's the perfect thing to eat. A nice soft-crisp bite was refeshing and a dip in the peanut sauce was heaven. I had the L1 combo which is pork, steamed rice and cucumbers and tomatoes on the side. Just the right portion. Great place for lunch. read more

V Bistro is small, but the food is good and the service is fast. It's hard to come by Vietnamese in the Humble area, but V Bistro is adequate enough to satisfy a Pho craving. I've had the Pho, the Bun, the Rice plate, the strawberry smoothie with tapioca, and the fried egg rolls. I liked it all, except the fried egg rolls are just ok. It's always crowded here, but they keep the place clean for the most part and some of the chairs are showing the padding already. I actually came to this location originally due to a Yelp review. I love Vietnamese food. However, I am the type of person that really judges a location from the outside (I know, I'm working on it), and from the outside, it is very deceiving. The place is really small, with simple tables and chairs inside. However, it is always packed. And I mean always! They have a very simple menu with your traditional Vietnamese entrées such as Pho and rice bowls. I'm not much of a smoothie fan, but my son and daughter love their made to order, fresh fruit smoothies. My kids claim that they are the best in Humble. You can tell from eating their food that it REALLY is fresh. I always feel satisfied when I leave, not that 'overly full' feeling due to all the grease and whatever else they serve at similar establishments. The prices are great! My son talked me into this place. It was actually better than I expected! I had grilled shrimp that was served with steamed rice, cucumber and tomatoe and some kind of sweet dipping sauce. My son got the beef version of the same thing. My youngest son had a bowl of wonton soup that was very good and had veges in it. We also had the egg rolls and spring rolls. I always order the Hot & Spicy Pho with an order of Egg Rolls. Both are very tasty and much better than these mediocre places around town. The food is not fresh. I expect the noodles in my pho to loosen up immediately when I pour the broth and it doesn't. It's as if it was prepared way ahead of time and has been sitting. I suspect they create balls of noodles a day or two ahead of time and nuke it in the microwave once ordered. Also the banh mi bread is not fresh. The bread is really crumbly like its a few days old. Do not waste your time coming here. I went there last week because it was closer to my house and I can honestly say it will be my last time going. It is stuffy with terrible service. You're elbow to elbow with strangers and you certainly do not get what you pay for. For food to take so long you'd expect it to be good, but it was the opposite. I bought a medium bowl of pho for six dollars something and was not the least bit satisfied with the price nor the quality. If you want great pho or any quality asian food in general, go to Pho Danh No 3 on veterans-- much better service, atmosphere, and you'll leave completely satisfied. With 6 dollars, you could buy a large bowl and leave with a happy stomach. I wouldn't go back to V Bistro even if it were free and I was starving! read more
