She finished my chin and lip electrolysis in 15 minutes so we moved to my underarms to use up the rest of the time. I was very happy with my first visit. Unfortunately my second I left much less happy. I developed a deep painful pimple on my lip line a couple days after electrolysis. We discussed it at my second appointment. She started on my chin and moved to my upper lip. I only have baby hairs on my lip line. But she focused on getting those first instead of the black hairs. I physically obviously reacted in pain every time she did a lip line hair. I ended up ending the appointment early before she finished my lip. It was a 15 minute appointment. She focused so hard on invisible baby hairs leaving many black hairs behind. It felt like she was intentionally targeting hairs you can't see to drag out my appointment. There was noticeably less hair my second appointment which was 4 weeks after my first so I don't understand how she spend the same amount of time on my face yet treated less hair. She also coughed 3 times during the electrolysis process and covered her mouth but didn't change her gloves after coughing. And pay attention when you pay because the payment system is set for an automatic 20% gratuity

I showed up promptly for my appt and was taken to a treatment room to wait. After about 10 minutes the receptionist popped her head in to let me know the tech was running late but was finishing up and would be in soon. Finally at 30 minutes past my appt, with still no tech, I gathered my things and walked to the front desk. I told her I couldn't wait anymore and left. She apologized and I walked out. I honestly doubt the tech was even there in the building, I think it's more likely a coverage issue they were having. A couple hours later I received this text (photo), offering me a hydra facial. You guys couldn't even treat me for what I paid for, why the heck would I let you touch my skin? FYI, this franchise is also high pressure sales so be ready if you decide to waste your money going there.

Call wait times are lengthy and it is nearly impossible to actually get a hold of anybody in the office itself. - Paradise Valley Dermatology now charges an office fee for each visit. This is on top of your treatment fees - even for chronic ongoing or autoimmune diseases. The reason provided by the front desk manager is they need to rediagnose your condition at EVERY appointment- even for life-long incurable issues undergoing existing treatment with their office. Depending on your insurance, this office fee can exceed $300. Many insurances will NOT cover this additional charge. - Dr. Blair - after more than 30 years, is no longer with Paradise Valley Dermatology!!! (Probably because of the awful office manager and her terrible attitude). - Kenan Arkawi is also no longer with Paradise Valley Dermatology!!! I found this out two days before my appointment when I was offered an alternative time with a physician I had never met. - Two practitioners leaving the practice in such a short period of time, combined with a significant reduction in the office support staff has led to a sharp decline in Paradise Valley Dermatology's ability to effectively manage patients. - The front office manager does not like patients. She's rude, condescending, unhelpful, and does not care if long time patients leave the practice due to her behavior. It's easy to understand now why so much of the support staff has quit or left the practice. I'd put her name in here, but I've never actually seen this manager at the office before today. I'll add it later if I can get it from the escalation teams. Recap: please avoid this office at all costs. The quality in service and care has gone down significantly. Instead of making it a smooth conversation by just looking at my past appts to see who my techs were, she said, "do you remember their name?" No I just know it was the first girl I saw." "Ok well you've seen 3". Ok so the first tech." It was just going back and forth like she wanted to make things difficult and to keep asking me questions guessing the name of the techs. So I asked her if she could read me the names of the techs so I'm not guessing. Why do people purposefully make things more difficult? I am a Fitzpatrick 4 and when I called to ask about the Fitzpatrick scale, the girl didn't know what a Fitzpatrick scale was. Not a good sign. I only decided to come to hello laser for the specific laser GentleMax-Pro and they are extremely close to where I live. So basically out of convenience I'll give them a go. It wasn't until I called about one of my last appts out of 6 to see how long I should be off hydroquinone before doing laser. She didn't know what that topical cream was, which is shocking as it's a BIG contraindication with laser. She said, "I'm sure 48hrs is good." I said, "oh wow, really? Only 48hrs? Are you able to ask to make sure? I don't agree with guessing when it comes to laser and people's skin." She abruptly repeated again, "48 hrs." So I decided to wait 2 weeks to be sure and then go in for my laser. Glad I did. The lack of education and care of their customers, is frightening. Be careful customers. Laser is not a device to play around with. Once something goes wrong it's nearly impossible to undo. With laser studios, you sign your life away so they can't and won't be held responsible if something goes wrong. Even if they guided you incorrectly. Those girls have way too much downtime and not having enough knowledge. Maybe they should be studying so they can learn proper contraindications with medications and devices before booking anymore appts. And stop arguing with customers. It's extremely unprofessional.
