SAFE SHIP

Safe Ship is a broker. You re better off just hiring a moving company yourself and not supporting…read morea middle-man. The Safe Ship sales rep had us do an inventory a month or two before the planned pickup. The quote was more than we expected as it was difficult for us to accurately determine our cubic foot needs. To help reduce cost we gave away a lot of pricey stuff to the VFW and other charitable organizations. We didn't have time to sell things. We were still living in our home and had items in closets and cabinets that required an increase of box count. Before the move, the rep reviewed the new inventory and it increased our cost to them as well to the movers that they hire. The cost should have gone down, not up. On move day, they showed up in a UHaul truck and couldn't get everything in it, requiring us to figure out how to get the rest of our stuff to our destination by ourselves. To be fair, after several phone conversations, they admitted the cubic foot error on their part (truck not big enough) and refunded a portion of the cost. Do yourself a favor and call a moving company who will come to your place and do their own cubic foot calculations and please stay away from brokers. They are just another layer that can cause avoidable problems. Brokers hire the actual movers so if there is a problem, you have to figure out if it was in the broker's wheelhouse or within the moving company. I wouldn't use them again, nor would I use any moving broker.

Then they do a confirmation of the inventory a few days before the pick up, after they have already collected a 1/3 deposit. We sold two couches, tables, chairs, etc to reduce our inventory but they raised the quote to $17,500. Almost double. It's a scam company and I would never recommend.

Warrenton, VA. The UPS Store. Dec, 2025. We needed to do an Amazon return. While we were not…read morefamiliar with this particular UPS store, it was convenient as we would be passing through Warrenton on route to another destination. The store is in a small shopping center with its own parking lot. Between construction work on Lee Highway directly in front of the store and a lot of movement in the shopping center's parking lot, the area was very congested. Once inside, there were two employees helping two customers, while I waited in line. The line was slow-moving but once I reached an employee, she was friendly and helpful. My actual transaction took less than a minute while the wait was closer to five. The shop was clean and well-organized.

She got very, very rude very very aggressive about me and my shipment whether I accept it whether I sign for it that I can't check the contents to make sure that the $400 bottle of wine was not damaged since the box was damaged. she did not do customer service at all correctly! She in fact, made it that I will go somewhere else, especially since she got in my face about how this "the UPS store" was privately owned. Since it is a privately owned business, there is one down the street that I will use and is closer to my work and in fact from here on out, I will continue to tell people about the horrible experience I had today. I never had a problem with anybody before but this experience I will not use UPS again ever! Too many each other choices in the world to get my hard earned money

Attempted to ship…read morelive fish per the instructions on the UPS website as I have several times at this location but was told they don't ship fish. After pushing back they said they ship fish but don't make the label. None of this is outlined on the very thorough UPS website or UPS Store website. In fact, it says the DO ship live fish. They continued to say that they are not the same as UPS. I understand they are a franchise, but why would their policies differ that greatly from UPS? I asked how to make a label in store and they refused help, referring me to make a label online. I told them I have received several packages of live fish from UPS and they insisted those must have been contracts with large pet stores (untrue in my cases). Even so, I'm not sure how that is relevant. Absolutely ridiculous and obviously uninformed on their own policy. They had nothing in writing to show just their own arrogance that they "don't do that". Will not be returning.

We had a sealed box and QR code as instructed and the attendant insisted we pay for a shipping bag. This is not what Amazon had instructed and I have never had to do this at any other locations in the past. The man at the desk was rude and I wish I just left and went to another location.
