Great hours of operation, and best of all it's a ghost town! Quick in and out. Everywhere else is closed after normal workweek hours...

I have gone in to speak with the supervisor with a handful of mail for the entire building just stashed in the magazine slot (or sometimes strewed out on the floor) but that hasn't helped. I've put a sign on my box kindly asking for the carriers to put MY mail inside MY box. But my mail still winds up stashed in the magazine slot for the building along with everyone else's mail. I'm trying to give the carrier who's doing this the benefit of the doubt but it's happening over and over and over again. I clear out my box daily and timely so I'm not understanding why my mail isn't in my empty box? I work for usps so I get important work related mail, in addition to bills and checks that can be compromised if in the wrong hands. What's the point of having a mailbox if you're just going to put the mail wherever you feel on any given day? I finally sealed off the magazine rack and hopefully now our mail will be put inside our boxes. But given the crummy morale of whatever associate is doing this, I won't be surprised to find all of our mail thrown on the floor or just not delivered at all. I do your job, it ain't that hard! Get it together!

After a few loops through the area, I eventually found a parking spot along N Kenilworth Ave right outside of the entrance. During my loops, I was astonished to see the beauty of downtown Oak Park which I have never seen before. I will have to visit the area one of these days to go food hopping, or maybe even pick out a run route that would take me through it on foot. Now as for parking, it is 1-hour parking, 9 AM - 5 PM Monday - Saturday. Many of the visitors I see try to secure those parking spots along N Kenilworth Ave because you will have to pay if you choose to park along Lake St, which is pay by the plate. An adorable, classy looking building is this post office not only on the outside, but inside as well. I must say that this post office was my life saver due to its closing time on the weekend which will surely result in future visits for me. During my visit, there was absolutely no line of customers inside which resulted in an in-and-out visit (no pun intended), tehehe. As someone who visits post office locations regularly whether it be for Poshmark or eBay shipments, the clerk presented a friendly vibe during our brief encounter at the counter. I was on my way in minutes after she weighed and scanned my package, as well as presented me with mailing stamps for my postcards. I am terrible at doing the surveys on the receipts pertaining to my visits at post offices, but rest assured I always share a review based on my experiences. I had a great experience and would gladly utilize Oak Park Post Office again for any shipments I may have. ~ Embrace the journey. ~ Thomas G

As a Poshmark Ambassador, I always strive to ship my items within at least two days which keeps my shipping status at 1.3 average days. This post office was my life saver due to its 5:00 PM closing time on a Friday, and it being along my route towards Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway. I am also grateful that it is near my job too because I did not want to have to place my package inside of a blue collection box. During my visit, there were absolutely no customers inside. Walking up to the counter, I joked with the clerk that it appeared as if they were closed which struck up a brief conversation. The clerk mentioned that it was likely due to the recent construction. As someone who visits post offices regularly whether it be for Poshmark or eBay shipments, the postal clerk presented one of the friendliest vibes during our brief encounter. I was on my way in minutes after the clerk weighed and scanned my package. I am terrible at doing the surveys pertaining to my visits at post offices, but best believe I always share some sort of a review. Being that I had a great experience, I would gladly utilize this United States Post Office again for shipments since it sits on my driving route. ~ Stay Sassy Y'all. ~ Thomas G

I had a shitty experience at the post office in Park Ridge. Yay…read more I was driving by and thought I should stop and submit a change of address form I'd been driving around with for weeks whilst I was thinking about it. I'd started filling it out when I got it, but you had to drop it off in person with ID so I decided I'd come back since I was in a hurry at that time. When I came to turn it in on this day, the woman said I did it wrong because the address of when I wanted the mail to be rerouted (around the date I moved) didn't match the date I'd signed the document (which I signed just before entering). Nowhere on the form do I see anything about it requiring the dates to match--in fact, that makes very little sense, since someone might submit a change of address two or three weeks before they actually want the change to take effect since it can take that long for the mail to be diverted. So she made me get out of line to complete another form, which wasn't particularly easy whilst holding a one year old and completing it one-handed. On top of that, why is it just a given that the post office sucks? I mean, I promise that if visiting the USPS wasn't worse than getting your teeth extracted that they wouldn't be bleeding money the way they are. I avoid the post office like I avoid COVID. I thought that the post office was one of the federal government's handful of PBOs (performance based organization) but there's no way given how customer service seems to be of the lowest concern to them. The post office building is nice and fancy, and the parking lot is confusing (a lot of it is one way, which I wouldn't expect with a larger parking lot like this). But like most post offices, just gird your loins upon entering.
