I second Stephen's comment. I ordered a package online that said it was delivered on 1/18/13 and I've yet to receive it or get an explanation as to where it ended up. I've contacted 1800-ASK-USPS who then directed me to Consumer Affairs who said they would contact the post office responsible and get back to me. Well that was a week ago so I've contacted this office directly and we'll see if they decide to follow up like they've said. My roommate has had several packages delivered to the wrong house as well and has to rely on neighbors to return them. I've decided to post a 1-star review to this branch every time when they claim my address is incorrect and my package is undeliverable. Well, this happens AGAIN. So here I am. This leads me to think that UPS guys, FedEx guys are WAY more clever than USPS guys since they could always deliver my packages without address issue. THEIFS! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR PACKAGES. I sent 3 identical packages out on 7/7/2014, out them in the INSIDE drop box. 2 of the 3 made it out and the 3rd one is miraculously missing. Ashley, who claims to be filling in for the supervisor Deborah, was of NO HELP. Told me they received the electronic ticket but that the package was not at the post office. Really? Funny, whomever was scanning in packages that day STOLE my package. They said wait a few days to see if it show up. Wow! First time for everything... the best customer service I've ever experienced at a post office. Quick wait, maybe 3 mins. Mrs. Mary was so incredibly helpful and didn't make me feel rushed. Even the elderly customer that was before me came back in panicked she couldn't find her credit card. We helped her search her purse, wallet and even coat pockets. Another customer had just walked in and picked the credit card up from right outside the post office doors to return it to the employee right next to us. The sweet elderly lady was delighted for the amazing customer service and all this while a small line was forming behind us the week before Christmas. WORST post office location. Whoever decided that the location for this was a bright idea is truly a complete idiot. As busy as this post office stays, there is literally about 15 parking spaces, if that. Right now during the busy holiday season? NONE are available because they are filled up or people are parking on the street. SERIOUSLY?! How is anyone supposed to do their business when it's this ridiculously busy. To add to that, there are only 2 people that work the counter. In addition to this nightmare, don't even try calling their phone number because it will give you a busy signal or keep ringing. You know what? Don't have a phone number listed if you AREN'T GOING TO ANSWER IT!!! I'm absolutely FED UP with not only this location but with the USPS as a whole. It's gone absolutely down hill. If you don't have the staff to run this smoothly and efficiently, then maybe you should consider paying them more in order for SNAIL MAIL to actually get to it's desired location. read more

This PO has been a nightmare. The counter help is a joke. I don't recall his name, but the older, Asian gentleman is a complete "ARGHH" (i'm to nice to say it) but he is USELESS! The times I have had to go there, if I am next in line, and he is the agent I have to work with I let the person behind me go ahead. Because I simply refuse to deal with him. He has lost packages and charged my card double for international shipments to my in laws with no follow up, until I went back in person and had to speak with a manager. Who, when I explained to her the situtation, was like "oh, that's you? no worries, here is a refund." He had done nothing but chat to her about it, but no follow through, until I showed up in person after 5 days of crickets and nothing from them. Also, our latest bad experience- a missing registered mail piece coming from Europe also. The tracking number says it was in NY and 10 days later was logged in Austin and out for delivery. OUT FOR DELIVERY. And my hopeless, but well meaning mail carrier doesn't have a clue. We went to the office last week, and still have heard nothing, and Mail Lady X - still has no idea where she could have dropped our letter. My guess, the clutz I know her to be, because she's broken things in our office, when rushing to go pee in our facilities- had it fall between the seat or something, and doesn't know where the heck it is. So many lost packages this holiday season. At least 10. I placed a group of prepaid packages up on the counter where instructed since they were too big for the slot. Never were scanned and never seen again. Many times I drop them in the slot before closing and they are not scanned in until the next day. The lines are very long near the end of the day with shortened hours from every other post office in the region that I have seen. (They close at 4:30 and are only open for 3 hours on Saturday.) I tried pickups from home but they are not reliable either and that has been the case in general at 3 different addresses. Maybe 60% actually picked up my packages. Usually routes seemed shared with one employee who cared and tried and one that didn't give a crap. I put up cameras just to prove they were not even showing up as they would say they tried and something was wrong. So I walk 1.6 miles each way every day to send my orders out and they can lose them before they get scanned, and even lose them mid transit. And I don't ask for perfection. I just expect an organization such as this to be dependable when they are such an important part of our daily life and commerce. What happened to the work ethic of the pony express that the entire thing was founded upon? I cannot speak of specific staff members at the branch. I have no issue with them or any individual. I just want accountability. And when I file a complaint or a claim I actually want to be contacted at some point instead of fully ignored. I don't feel I'm asking a whole lot with this. read more

Watched "Mrs. Fran" belittle the man in front of me about his inability to find the proper envelope when he was asking for shipping advice and then just talked over him and said next. I came up and she stated "I can't give you tape to close the box if you aren't shipping it priority." This is after I waited in line for 20 minutes and I had went to the other Cedar Park store yesterday and they had no problem putting a piece of tape over the top of my box. This place is super inconsistent with pricing. The only consistency is the power service and extremely poor attitudes from the ladies at the counter. One day I go in to mail a package with 2 of my products I sell all the way to Minnesota. It was $4.00. The very next day I try to mail just one of my exact same products, not 2, just 1 this time, to Georgetown... 25 miles away. It's almost double the cost. I say forget it and the lady is so extremely rude and makes a huge deal about how she already printed the postage... I explained to her that the cost isn't adding up and she took it very personal and started raising her voice and getting snappy. I also needed a stamp to mail a bill and she made sire to take her sweet time and do all the paperwork and voiding before she gave me stamp. There are 2 men in there that are very kind and helpful. It's the women that are rude. I waited in line several times listening to them talk to foreign people poorly and rudely because they didn't understand mailing procedures.. they have chairs at their desks so they don't have to stand and be active. They are lazy and unkind. Government's finest. I will make the drive to Cedar Park, they are much nicer. David from Chicago is kind and wants to truly help. read more

Ok Just the other day someone put on our porch a stack of mail they had received in their box by MISTAKE it was date FEB 19th YIKES! And we have had to pay LATE TOLL CHARGES BECAUSE WE HAVNT RECIEVED OUR BILL! WE CONSTANTLY GET THE WRONG MAIL TOO! 5 days in transit after leaving Dallas and it still hasn't arrived in Austin. It sat in Dallas for a week as well. The package is now 10 days late for delivery. Tried to file a case online, after entering all the info multiple times, the website let me know the email function was down. Not before I wasted all that time, naturally. So I spent 8-10 minutes navigating their stupid phone tree, finally got to an agent line and it's a 35 minute wait with no option for a callback. This post office supposedly services the 78717 zip code. I live in Platinum Lakeline Apts and I feel fortunate to receive my mail. There is no way to mail from here because the outgoing mail slots are stuffed full all the time. The branch never answers their phone and the office here is clueless. They suggest going to a mail drop but there in none nearby and I dont drive. I walked to this branch once and felt as though I was in a foreign country. Personnel there were like robots with no ability to process incoming information. This post office has been refusing to deliver our mail for about two weeks solid now, including life-or-death blood thinner medication for an elderly relative. They keep leaving notes with BS excuses that don't actually match the facts. Excuses include "No secure place to leave mail" and "Mailbox full". Both patently false. There is also someone available 24/7 to answer the door and accept mail/packages personally. We have a secure parcel locker, empty. There is also a locked mailbox with slot on the front porch, also empty. There is a privacy wall around the porch to put packages behind. We even went into the USPS delivery platform and gave them permission to leave unattended packages. Nothing. And don't think shit-rating them is our first step. We reached out through email, they said 'sorry, come pick it up, no secure location' once and then stopped answering. We reached out through Facebook and Twitter. We tried going through the online interface. And the one email response we did get threatens to send all our mail back because we can't make it to the post office during their limited hours. Now they won't even answer the phone. We are missing bills, life-saving medicine, and lord knows what else. This last time, they left a note in the empty mailbox letting us know there is a "box full of mail and parcels" being held at the station. What the hell?! read more

I drove to this location because I had a bad experience at my neighborhood post office. The clerks were kind and accommodating. They had someone greeting customers and getting our transactions started before we were even at the counter which made the whole process more efficient. I was mailing out two packages, and all of my options were thoroughly explained to me. It was busy and there were some ornery customers but the staff kept their cool and maintained a professional and kind attitude. It was just such a huge difference from my experience at the other post office. Courtesy goes a long way. read more

Nothing special about this place, I'm giving it one star because the supervisors there are idiots and unprofessional, and you have to wait a ridiculous amount of time at the door after you knock to get you packages. Only reason I'm giving it a single star is because my mail lady out of that location is great. VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES WORKING HERE. I show up with a package and a prepaid label. The guy behind the counter tells me that I need to tape the label onto the package and expects me to pay for a roll of tape and do it myself. When I ask him if he could just use the tape that he is using, he decides to show an attitude. Ok, wow. I didn't know that spending 5 seconds to tape on a prepaid label onto a package is such a big deal around here. Great attitude, guys!!! read more

I have been coming to this location for awhile but not too pleased with the customer service. Some of the workers are friendly but others are quite the opposite and seem like they hate their job. The guys behind the door who get my packages are friendly too and try to help me out with anything I need there. The waiting line is always pretty long but that is understandable. Note that this post office is called the 'McNiel Office' even though it is actually on Lake Creek. This is a small office, with only two clerk positions, but two factors make this PO well above the average Post Office. 1) Employees here seem satisfied with their jobs, and will actively try and help. Whoever manages this location treats his or her employees with respect, and thus the employees treat the customers with respect also. 2) They do something here that I've never seen before. Even though they have only two counter positions they almost have have a third clerk with a portable scanner and credit card machine. He goes up and down the line asking if people just want to buy postage or merchandise with debit or credit cards, or if they need him to find a package for them. This technique greatly reduces wait time. All post offices should follow this model. read more

This maybe in fact be the worst post office in the US. I have lived in my home for 5 1/2 years and have had to come here at least 10 times for packages that have failed to be delivered and I don't get much delivered. Despite my multiple complaints they can't tell the difference between Trail and Cove in the address. Aren't you the post office? It's been the same carrier the entire time! No new employees. This post office does not have good customer service ... A package sent to wrong address and the so called manager which I think she not a manager at all at this location is fit to do her job. The only thing need to be done is retrieve the package and either return to sender or let me pick it up.. This is fairly common among USPS facilities. Under staffed, no self-service equipment, uncaring employees. I've tried to use the on-line hold mail app twice. It says it works but don't tell this PO staff that. Both times came home to completely stuffed mail box. When I asked the staff, they didn't have a clue as to why the mail wan't held. If you miss a parcel that needs a signature, you go to the PO and ring the bell at the pick up door. Rarely does anyone come, so you go inside and wait in line and they direct you to the pick up door and shout out to someone in the back to go to the door. This location is completely lacking. They lack a mail drop for packages. They lack a machine to mail packages. They lack a postage machine for regular stamps. This post office is pretty much useless outside its business hours. And about mail delivery: I recieved a notice that my package was delivered on 12/31. Guess what, it's not in my mailbox and hasn't shown up by 1/2. So I called the post office and they said to call back between 8:30-9:30 am to speak to the carrier. Ok, sure not a big deal. Except the phone is constantly busy between 8:30-9:30 am and when you call at 9:50 the carrier has left. Two stars only because the customer service people have manners and when this PO is open you can actually pickup your mail (unlike Bluebonnet PO). Take home message: If you want to mail something, I highly recommend going to the Jollyville PO or even the Far West PO since both those locations have postage machines and drop bins for packages with posted already affixed. If you need customer service, try the old McNeil post office - the line there is usually non-existent and they are friendly. read more

I stepped in the the office at 4:31, just to get a stamp and drop the mail into the box... The security guard treated me as a terrorist , yelled at me three times "we are closed"super loud and firm. I was simply asking if there is a drop off box and a machine that sells stamps in this location. Everyone started looking at me, and of course, no mail was dropped off that day.
