Sweet home movers is the worst, dirtiest company I've ever worked with in my life…read more Was quoted $615 for my one-bedroom move and was charged $1,065. Like, true story. Told the owner I would have around 30 boxes and his words were "if you want a company that will give you a flat rate and stick with it, that's us." Not only was I charged almost double the quote, but they broke a $250 industrial lamp, my safe was tempered with and permanently locked me out, scratches on dressers, computer monitor, a small lamp didn't work again, handle gone from vacuum (can't make this up), my office chair somehow cracked and not useable AND they must have put the bed frame back together in 30 seconds bc half the bolts and screws weren't even in halfway. In addition, when I spoke to owner regarding my 6 foot floor mirror, a piece I really loved and valued, and was clearly forgotten by the movers,, the owner said any additional times not moved day of isn't in contract. I definitely stated that mirror needed to be moved.. as did everything in my apartment. I am beyond the point of frustrated and am just sad this man used me, took my money, had no remorse and then gets away with it. Unless you want to pay double the quote, lose $1,500 in broken, damaged or left property, to then be told the next day they aren't going to refund me for floor lamp and damaged property , nor move the item their movers forgot, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Joke of a business. 1 STAR. Oh, all the new reviews are clearly fake and not from real customers.

It was easy to schedule with…read morethem and their pricing was fair, but the experience was one of the most stressful moving experiences I've ever had. I've moved myself and also hired all sorts of movers and labor 7 times in the last 10 years. I don't recommend sweet home movers. They showed up with the smallest truck I've seen. We had a Pods load of furniture and boxes in a garage. They backed into the driveway. They didn't need to carry things up and down stairs or take things apart. They moved SO SLOW. They couldn't fit everything in their truck. It took 2.5 hours just to load that into their truck. I think they were taking extra long to puzzle as much into their small truck as possible. Their English wasn't great so they couldn't read the labels on the boxes. They took an extra 3 hours more than expected and you bet they charged us for it. In the end my husband and I and our parents did about a third of the loading and unloading. And spent $300 more than we thought we would. The guys were nice and were able to handle a tricky move of a large wine fridge into the basement. That's basically all the nice things I can say about them.

They were also cheaper than all the other companies. Day of, they came in prompt and wasted no time. I booked them for 2.5 hour min and had them move me out of my studio. I was out in an hour, which includes them breaking down my bed. They set up my bed and also unloaded everything in about 2hrs. They were not like cheap cheap ($500) but they were cheaper comparably by a couple bucks and were beyond professional, nice, and just really amazing. Cannot recommend highly enough.

1 Star Very…read moredisappointing experience. My original estimate was $6,225, and I ultimately paid $8,100 for my move. Despite paying for a full packing and white-glove moving service, multiple valuable belongings were damaged while in the company's care, including a 65-inch TV, a 55-inch TV, my mattress, a marble side table, a patio chair, and a rug. One of the most concerning examples is my mattress, which was delivered folded in half. I have included a photo showing its condition upon delivery. The white-glove service was also not completed as promised. The movers disassembled my bed but did not reassemble it upon delivery, even though reassembly was included in the service I purchased. I had to hire and pay a TaskRabbit professional to assemble it myself. I have been working with the company on my damage claim since July 20. They have received photographs and videos documenting everything. The company is relying on the $0.60-per-pound valuation provision in the contract. I understand that provision is included in the agreement, but given the number of items damaged while in their care, I find the outcome extremely disappointing. Their Claims Department initially offered $124, then increased it to $275, and their final offer is now $325. After paying $8,100 for the move and dealing with multiple damaged belongings and incomplete white-glove service, I do not consider $325 a reasonable resolution. I gave the company more than a month to resolve this directly and in good faith. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with how the claim has been handled and would not use this company again or recommend them to others.

Moved from Chicago to California and I was impressed with Reebie Storage & Moving/Allied Van Lines…read morefrom start to finish. They made what can be a very stressful event into a seamless and satisfactory process. I could not be more thankful that everything turned out exactly as planned. PRE-MOVE: Andrew was my Estimator/Moving Consultant and he was very easy to work with on our quick virtual survey. When I received the quote, which was very competitively priced compared against the other companies I had quote, he was not pushy and did not follow up an excessive amount to try and win the business (like some other companies did!). He answered questions quickly over email and was very transparent through the entire process. Everything was then handed over to my Moving Coordinators Amanda & Angel, who were also lovely to work with. A few days before my move, I received a text message to confirm when my movers would arrive to my apartment. MOVING DAY: My moving team led by Nicholas was scheduled to arrive on January 13 between 8-9:30AM. They arrived at 8:45AM to my high rise apartment and had fully gotten everything (about 70 boxes & free-standing items total) into the truck by 9:45AM- they were so efficient! I opted to pack all of my things myself, but they did disassemble my bed frame for me and added any additional padding where they thought necessary. He walked me through my inventory list and explained that my things would first be delivered to their warehouse in Franklin Park, then when they fill a truck headed to California my things would be on their way. DURING THE MOVE: They loaded my things on January 13, and I got my first call from my Coordinator regarding the status of my move on January 24. She let me know that my things were scheduled to depart for CA soon. I also received a call from my driver, Santiago, the night before my delivery to confirm what time he would be arriving. DELIVERY DAY: The estimated delivery day was January 20-30 and timing was 8:30AM. My things arrived on January 29 at 8:15AM. All 70+ items were accounted for and nothing was damaged. The boxes all seemed to be in decent shape considering their 2000 miles voyage. Santiago unloaded the truck himself, leaving all the boxes in the rooms I specified and reassembled my bed frame. He was incredible!

Filed a claim with the company. Received a fast but disgraceful reply. I expected about $2,000 but was told I'd get less than $200! Reebie's rationale tells all one needs to know about the ethos and culture of this outfit. I was told that because the chandelier was old, it must not be very valuable. I'm not as stupid as Reebie apparently thinks I am. (Old things can be very valuable, duh.) They also told me who they are when claiming that since I'd been in the warehouse a couple of times, things can get lost. Knowing where stuff is pretty much defines the very purpose of a STORAGE business. Old family owned businesses unworthy of your patronage.
