Love this place!. I bring my pup of 75 lbs here every time we need a bath. I never feel rushed. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I love that the tubs are at waist height and there are ladders so my dog can climb up and get in safely. They give you as much soap as you need and even a doggie biscuit to either tempt them into the tub or a treat for afterwards. They also have products to purchase and food. read more

Pros: - Full enclosure with separate drying and washing areas - Full supply of products to clean all the bits and pieces - Clean and orderly. Cons: - A bit of a rude treatment when the store opener showed up late - Slightly more expensive than competitors unless you visit their website and look for coupons or buy a prepaid card. I ended up really liking this place after having a bit of a rough start. The stalls are huge and there is a separate drying area from the washing basin. The loss of the 5th star comes from showing up at 10:25 (they opened then at 10:30). The owner/operator showed up at 10:35 looking frantic (it happens to all of us). I gave him a couple of minutes to settle and left my car at 10:40. He was rather abrupt in saying that they weren't open yet and to come back in a couple of minutes. I'm sorry but its the first rule of retail (or one of the first rules) that you need to be fully prepared for the next day when you close the previous night. I'm not sure what I was supposed to do but stand around outside twiddling my thumbs. My dog didn't have thumbs to twiddle and was already anxious about getting a bath. Once we were in, it was a great experience. The same previously mentioned owner made a point to show me where everything was and tested the water personally to ensure it was warm enough but not scalding. They supplied ear cotton and cleaner which is a nice touch. I'm not sure where the other complaints about inferior supplies was coming from. Yes the shampoo was thin but is designed that way to go through a sprayer. You just use more. It is all you can use. If I lived in the area, I would return often. I live a good bit away so it isn't worth making the trip more than 5 miles or so. read more

It's a little out of the way, but I'm willing to go that far for great services which get my dog looking clean! After driving long distance to adopt our pup, we found this hidden little gem. Our dog was in desperate need of a bath after being at the shelter. 20 minutes here and he walked out like a new pup! I booked an appointment online as it stated on the website and had to pay $18 up front, at around 10 am for an 11.15 am appointment on the same day. I called back to see if I could change it to a later time. An hour later, an employee from uShampooch called me stating that if you can't make the appointment you would lose your $18 and you cannot change the appointment to a later time or a later day, as stated in their terms and conditions. I emailed the owner, Lily, and she told me the same thing. What kind of shoddy business charges people for a service up front and when they couldn't make their appointment, to not refund or change the appointment to a later time. They claim that they're open at 20% capacity and that's why they don't refund or change appointments!! Why are they open to 20% capacity when everything else is practically open to 100%. No excuse for their dumb policy! I highly recommend you do not go there as you only get 45 min to wash your dog and god forbid if you cancel or change your appointment. I booked the appointment on their website one hour and 15 minutes before my actual time of my appointment time and I have the right to change it! Better business bureau will hear from me! read more

I have been a loyal customer since 2012. The last two times have been really disappointing. I have taken my dog, who has a lot of hair, to wash at 445PM as that's the earliest I get off of work. It's not like I showed up at 530. A month ago, I was made to feel very badly because they needed to leave at 6PM. It was 540PM and I had to leave with my dog half wet. Today, I showed up again at 445 and was told I now had to leave at 530. I got into a disagreement with the woman who worked there and she said "you always pretend like you don't know the rules". She told me I could take my business elsewhere and waived goodbye to me. This, after I rushed from work down PCH, fighting Friday holiday traffic, to make it on time (75 minutes before closing). As someone said, it's like forcing the people at a restaurant to finish their meals with 30 minutes before the place closes because they have a social engagement to attend. I tend to avoid places that make me feel bad about frequenting their business. Regretfully, I think I'm done with uShampooch. read more

I just adopted a shepherd-mix that hates water and being handled, but it became harder to ignore the walking-2-miles-in-the-sun-in-a-fur-coat fragrance just rolling off this 70 lb dog; it was bath time. And Max does not do bath time. We attempted to bribe and wrestle him in to the tub, but the big teeth came out - forcing us to consider tranquilizers and shaving cream. That's when the owner so generously, and patiently, worked with us to calm Max down and eventually got him to associate the stairs and tub with treats. Seriously, Max ate his weight in dog biscuits and now probably thinks they grow on step ladders. The customer service didn't end there, the owner invited us to come by any time to practice bath time. We were there for over an hour and received so many helpful tips and support from the staff. I was ready to give up on baths altogether, but thanks to some serious customer care, they got a loyal client and Max will soon be rid of his cooties and pungent aroma. This place is not suitable for larger dogs such as german shepherds. I found this place a huge hassle for me and my dog. I came in at 5:11 and they need you out by 5:30 even though they close at 6pm. There shower area is quite tiny and uncomfortable for self-service for both the dog and owner. Id recommend going to "the pet wash" in el segundo. There pretty cool if you show up past 5:11 and there wash sinks are larger . Their washing apparatus is far more convenient also. I wont be coming here again. read more

I went in after reading reviews on good customer service, but sadly my experience was far from it. My dog got a shampoo + basic grooming for $40+tip. To be fair, I am content with the grooming job itself. The rest of my experience here... HORRIBLE! To start with groomer here an attitude problem. Also I don't think communication b/t staff was clear either. I made an appt for grooming service the day before with a lady at the front. I explained what I wanted done for my dog, and she recommended that I talk to the groomer directly and I would get an accurate estimate. Great. On the day of appt I talked to the groomer told her I wanted his hair in b/t his paws on his belly and butt trimmed. And with an attitude she went "do you want his entire body trimmed? I was told it was just a basic cut!" I specifically told 3 areas I wanted cut/trimmed. I don't know if that's basic grooming or what else they call it. Then she pretty much told me what she was gonna do for $40. After my husband and I left the dog there, we both agreed that she came off with an attitude and bullied us around. After I picked up my dog from the groomer, I noticed that his collar and tag were missing. I call them right away, and they couldn't help me but told me to wait to speak to the groomer directly. After a short hold, I got through the groomer and was told ,,,., I don't have it. You must have it. I will call you "IF" I find it after the day's over because I am too busy right now..... WHAT?!! You were'nt too busy taking cash from me. I know as a fact that the dog had the collar and tag on him when he was left there and when I picked him up they weren't there... You can't even give me a benefit of doubt when your customer is potentially being inconvenienced due to your wrongdoing??? My husband calls the place up again, and this time he was told by the owner or receptionist that she's too busy to be on the phone with him. If so why did you even pick it up? It turned out that they had them after all, and my husband had to drive all the way from El Segundo to pick them up. Yet no apology offered for losing items or wasting our time for having to drive back. With this level of customer service, I can only imagine how my doggie is treated left alone. This place has a cool concept, good location and great potential, but is seriously lacking customer service especially under pressure. Dear owner,,, I have been running a small biz myself, and here's my advice to you if you care to read this to improve upon. 1. NEVER bully someone who's about to spend $ on your biz. Hear your customers out, and then recommend what you think. 2. Also as a business owner, you need to take an ownership. When we called in about missing collar and tag, no one is taking an ownership over the issue, and everyone's excuse is they are too busy. The groomers may be independent, but they are still working under your roof affecting your reputation. 3. When you mess something up, do apologize. We never got a "sorry" from this establishment after all this drama. No one. Not once. 4. NEVER tell customer whom you just took money from that you are too busy to talk when the customer is being inconvenienced by your business' shortcomings. 5. I am sure you were busy, and I can appreciate trying to attend multiple clients at the same time. But It's not about what you say, but HOW you say it. 6. I also wish I was told that payment options were cash or check only for grooming service when I was making an appt. 7. Any legit business should offer an receipt. I've been washing my dog here for nearly 6 months. It's cleanly and convenient. Really was disappointed when my dog and I were recently turned away at 5:29pm. They close at 6:00pm but refused to take us because the attendant working there stated that she had already cleaned up for the day. Not sure why this was not stated when I called and drove across town after work. Word of advice: get there an hour before they close, at 5:00pm, or you will be turned away. My husband just loves his bi-weekly visits for wash and bonding time with our Wally, a black English lab. The place is always clean and attention is excellent. First time we walked in we were explained everything in detail, and when we were done my husband tried to clean up (which he wouldn't do at home, but that's a different story, ha!), and they immediately came over and stopped him to start cleaning themselves. I have been coming here for over a year with my 10 year old Golden Retriever. Over his long life I have used many different dog washes but never quite fallen in love like this. Ushampooch used to be just another dog wash but the new owner has put so much TLC into making the place so much more. From the fresh coat of paint, to the whole wall of treat selection, to the high quality food products this place just keeps getting better. The staff is always friendly, greeting you as soon as you walk in, and are attentive to getting you anything that you may need while there. And Lily, the owner, is always up to give you some handy advice or get down on the ground to trim your dog's nails for you. I am glad I ignored the negative reviews and went to this place. I have a senior boxer and I feel terrible leaving her at the groomers so I decided to bring her here. Not only is it super clean and you get to watch your dog be mad at you while you bathe them but they have every supply you need plus treats :) It made washing your dog a fun thing actually..plus I didn't need to clean up the mess after.
