I usually don't leave 1 star reviews , but boy am I livid . I called this establishment with very specific questions , I asked for their first available appointment to ensure my dogs would be first to be worked on . Not only did the owner say sure just come on in , I asked again saying if this an appointment . Barely took any info and just said come at 9am Tuesday June 2nd . A simple shave down is what I wanted for my two dogs , my wife is there at 850am to be early . Another gentleman is there but we drop off our dog first then the gentleman , come 12pm we call and come to find out she hasn't even worked on our dog. 3 hours and first dropped off and not even touched , as a first time client I am in utter shock. My wife notifies me and I tell her to get our dogs , we even stated we live close by so if one is finished we can pick them up. We pick up our dogs and she gives us a poor excuse stating she had to be on the phone with her insurance . For three hours ? I call her to demand an explanation, she then is confused about what dog, that she has "many 9am dogs " so it's not even an appointment. This establishment just books dogs at any time and will be worked on whenever she feels like it . If you're under staffed please hire help or don't be greedy , these are peoples loved ones we treat them like children. My dog in a cage for 3 hours while you're dealing with your insurance is unacceptable. Do better , a fair warning to anyone who comes here read more

I was nervous about getting my long haired kitty groomed but came to this place at the recommendation of my vet who I trust. He has dense fine fur that tends to get matted and he doesn't like being brushed. I was told they were really good with cats at this shop. I tried to make an appointment the day before to minimize the experience my kitty would have to go through but was told to just bring him in. I got a quote for $50 for bath and lion cut for a cat with long hair. I dropped him off at 11am the following day and asked for an estimate of when he would be ready "it'll be a while I got a few others ahead of him". I waited until 4:15pm to call and was told he hasn't been done yet and that they were behind. I asked about their closing time of 6pm and was told they close whenever they finished up and that I would get a call. By 6:15pm I still haven't heard from them and decided to come get my kitty if they hadn't started on them yet. I came and found him hovered in the corner of the cage, I asked if I could take him and the lady said he's drying and in the middle of the haircut. She said it would be another half an hour. I became more worried and waited in the shop until she finished at which point she decides to come get him to expedite the process. The shop was small and had a strong smell to it. I ignored that since my vet told me they were really good. I should've took it as a sign. She finished at 7pm, his haircut was uneven and botched but I just took him because I didn't want him to stay any longer there. I asked how much I owed and she apologized for the wait and said she will charge only $40 instead of $60, which is not what she told me over the phone. I gave her the amount and thanked her and left. He still had some matted fur I had to cut off in the remaining fur in the front. The people here were able to take our dog in for same day wash and cut, which is really nice. We weren't very impressed by the cut, there was a lot of uneven hair, and her chin hairs were very long when we picked her up. But we really appreciate the fact that they could take our shih tzu without any trouble. We will come back on days that we don't have as much time to go to our normal groomers, since this place is closer to our house. But as far as the quality of the cut, it's not the best. I brought my puppy here did a first time cut. The place smelled really bad or pee and cats, but because I still decided to look past that because hopefully they could do a good cut. He is a small curly haired Maltese poodle mix. I specifically asked for a teddy bear cut (fluffy all over not to cut too much hair) that they reassured me more than once over the phone and in the shop they could do it. I come back and they cut all of his hair in his body down super short (cut all of his curls off) as well. They cut the hair on top of his head (Afro is gone and now the hair sticks up or back off the back of his head!!!). Not only was the hair cut short but it is uneven with long spots all over. that night after getting home I realized they cut his by his eye and he has a scab and bleeding. Puppy Tails has been grooming our dogs for years. They have done an excellent job working with Gunner, our large long haired Husky/Rottweiler mix. Kim's experience with grooming made a huge difference. We brought him in because his fur was thick and really hard to manage. He needed special shampoo treatments because he had dry skin and matted fur. Kim also was able to clip his nails without upsetting him. We couldn't get him to cooperate with us at home. Reaches for him without pay much attention to me. They don't take appointments just told me walk-ins welcome at 11am. Appointments make the world go round....just saying. With an appointment you can manage things better such as other time factors....it took 3 hours! I ran all my errands and had to make up a few errands to spend my time waiting for my 25 lb terrier's basic bath. Sorry I'm ranting...anyway the lady takes my dog and asks me nothing but to fill out my dogs information and my contact information. I think she's the only one cleaning these dogs because again...it took 3 hours. She charged me $25 which is a good price but you get what you pay for. His nails weren't trimmed enough. I had for me a unique experience. I have four cats and the oldest is 14, so I know a little. Anyway, one male cat, Tripp, is part mainecoon, alot of hair. When I walked in, I had to greet myself. No questions were asked. I had to ask the questions. I asked for a trim and wash. I mentioned and pointed out that my dogs tail and top of the head were fluffy/raggedy. She said okay. I asked when I should come back, she said an hour to an hour and a half. When I came back, no one greeted me again. I had to ask if my dog was ready before someone acknowledged me. When I seen my dog, he looked exactly the same!! Just clean/washed. My first visit there, i took my Mut (shiu-tzu + chiuhauha) there for a bath and hair cut.. my sister gave me him literally 4 days before i came in to get him groomed and pampered for a few hours.. so i didnt know how he was supposed to look after his cut, not did i care to ask her how his hair was supposed to look, i just thought since i was going to a professional they were experienced enough to know.. boy was i wrong.. i am always in the area and i always noticed a cute groomers on the way to the freeway. i decided to bring my smaller dog here and left my golden retriever at home,.. (a smart decision) i walk in w/no appt. to a woman... who i'm assuming is the owner.. doesnt care to greet me.. she later walks up to me after i get a good look at the place. doesnt care to speak, so i asked if she took any walk ins? my dog needed a good bath, nail trim, and cut. she said ok, fill out some information. (being a 1st time customer) and usually groomers will give u an estimated pick-up time. she didnt. so i had to call and ask. It was a tiny place, looked old n run down and she was the only one working.. i came back exactly 5 hours later.. and i forgot to bring his harness so i thought i'd purchase 1 there.. i walked in and my poor dog was just sitting in that cage UNFINISHED !!!! SHE SAID, "I JUST HAVE TO TRIM HIM UP GIVE ME 15 MINUTES" SO I WAITED THERE THE FIRST 3 MINUTES AND SHE BROUGHT OUT A SHAVER.... YES, A SHAVER.. THOUght she was just going to use it for some parts, like his butt, so i walked out to my car unfazed. i waited in my car... 25 minutes.. saw her tatted up son walking some different dogs, thought to myself.. hey, THATS nice of them to take them out for walks... but he just put them on the leash, walked maybe 30 ft. sat down near a pavement and smoked. then went back in. but, at least the dogs got a breath of fresh air. so she came out with my dog, i saw him.. and was speechless.. he was totally shaved down.. i examined him closer and there were patches of long hair everywhere and i asked her to make it even all over at least she did, and i didnt know what to even think.. i payed $55 including a very OLD, dusted harness that was so ugly. i took him to a pet store, and he climbed on my lap and i noticed he smelled like a dog thats been stepping in his own urine. i IMMEDIATELY called her and asked if she had even taken a bath for him. c'mon.. urine? she said yes, before the cut.. arent u supposed to do the cut then the bath? his nails were still super sharp. she said.."we'll if you'll like u can bring him back and ill re-bathe him, we are gonna be open pretty late" it was already 6pm so i asked her what is considered late to her? 9-10pm? she said she would be there till 9pm i was considering it, but i was already by my house and DID NOT want to take another trip. i just told myself i would never experience such a disastrous place again. my poor dog. its been over 2 months and his hair finally grew back. I brought in a rescue cat to be bathed today and am absolutely pleased with the results. He is super soft and shiny and looks like a new feline. Kim was super sweet and seemed very comfortable with the cat bathing. I couldn't get a same day appt. at my regular place Camp Run a Mutt. I decided to try this place since the reviews seemed good and it is close to my house. Unfortunately my dog came out with an extremely choppy uneven haircut, a bald spot on his hip, fleas (which he did not go in with), and extreme razor burn to the point of black scabs all over his bottom. The people seem nice enough however the entire place smells of cat urine, as I noticed they have several roaming about. The cages look old and rusty. For 5 years they did a good job with my husky, but last time it was very bad. I was one of the first customer in the morning, by 4 pm my dog wasn't ready. When I called and said I would pick him up anyway, they washed him very bad, didn't brush and didn't trim the nails as I asked. I write this to protect other dog owners from this place. I can forgive the patchy haircut on my Yorkie and Morkie (both for fist time visits) but they sold me a flea pills stating only authorized groomers and vets can distribute. They sold me two Comfortis pills saying they were for my dogs weight and size. The pills almost killed them. Both became so lethargic that we rushed them to a vet. It was determined that they had a bad response / OD'd. The vet further stated that only veterinarians can prescribe and what they did was illegal. Avoid at all costs. Also, they leave their door open and cats were streaming in and out, probably brining in fleas, yikes! read more

I called and made an appointment to have my cat groomed. I was looking for a facility that did a lion's mane cut. Appointment set. I arrived early and dropped off my cat and was informed it would take two hours. No problem. I came back to collect my baby and was told he wasn't ready. I asked how much longer and was informed that she was tied up on a personal call and hadn't even gotten to him . No I'm sorry . No phone call informing me that there was a delay.
