My experience with Doggie Details was the WORST experience I have had with a groomer, and I'm in the dog industry. I have worked with several groomers in the past, and I have my own dog company providing services to people in the South Bay. In fact, across the street from Doggie Details, I have 7 clients in that neighborhood. One of those clients entrusted me to bring their Australian Labradoodle to Doggie Details. My client had already communicated very specific grooming requests through photos and videos. When I dropped Tilly off, I AGAIN clearly showed the groomer the desired style. During the grooming session, I received a call from the groomer, she thought that I had called and was returning my call. She also informed me that she had cut off some of Tilly's matted hair and had given her a short cut. I assumed this was still in line with the requested style. So I acknowledged what she said. When I returned to pick Tilly up, I was shocked to discover that she was completely unrecognizable! I thought they handed over the wrong dog!! The groomer had SHAVED her body completely, with some areas shaved down to the skin. The grooming job was uneven and rough, with portions of Tilly's head and tail cut disproportionately larger creating an odd appearance. Also on her body, there were parts that were noticeably shorter than other parts of her body. It is extremely patchy with some noticeably shorter. Additionally, I noticed significant behavioral changes in Tilly after the grooming. She became skittish, began biting at my hands, and cried a lot when I left the room. The facility did mention that she bit her groomer, which raised MAJOR concerns about whether she used excessive force when she was grooming her. To make matters worse, the groomers claimed that I had approved the drastic shave, which was entirely untrue. I had communicated the expectations. The photos and videos were shown 2 times by both the owner and me. I reached out to the business owners to discuss my concerns directly, but they never called me back and only called my client. Then said to her that I approved a horrible cut over the phone, which was 100% a LIE!! She only called me because she thought she was returning a call, and she had already done the damage. It felt as though I was being used as a scapegoat for her mistake. Also, why would you call me to get permission to shave her down completely and not the owner directly?! In reality, neither of us received a call. This was completely unacceptable behavior for a service-based business. Also, Tilly's grooming should have been complimentary following such a distressing experience, and an apology should have been offered to everyone in this situation, at the very LEAST. Zero accountability was taken from them. Only blaming others. I have attached photos to this review. It is very clear of the expectations. It is also very clear that the grooming wasn't even acceptable even if we had requested a shave. I share this experience as a warning for those considering Doggie Details. I know that there are many great reviews; however, I would hate for this experience to happen to you. Please do NOT risk it!! I also hate it if a dog is not given proper care during their grooming. It was obvious that Tilly had trauma after her grooming. It's crucial to prioritize quality and care when choosing a grooming service for your beloved pets. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions in the future. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: #1 - When your groomer reviewed the photos sent by the owner and me, she was confused, which is why we spent time reviewing the images. She mentioned she may go shorter (which other groomers have said too but still kept the same look). She was also looking at the photos the whole time we were talking. I am not a groomer, and I count on your specialized skill set to do techniques to get the desired outcome. At the end of our conversation, she said that she would try and verbatim said "if the owner did not like it, she can correct it." I assumed those words meant she would do the cut in the photos, and there would still be room to adjust if it did not meet expectations. Before I left, I asked if she would like me to send her the photos, at which point she said no. I did not agree to change her look & she did not say "do you understand" #2 - I did tell the groomer a muzzle can be used on Tilly, which was feedback received from another groomer. The difference here is what happened after her grooming. This time, she was noticeably skittish and would run away from people that she loves. This was noticed by several people. Tilly had some trauma. This groomer likely did not know how to deal with dogs that are uncomfortable with grooming. #3 - When the groomer called me, she thought I had called and was only returning a call that she missed. No conversation around permission was done; she only said she already cut off areas, and mentioned there were some long parts too.

This is how she came back

Had my dog walker drop off and pick up my formerly cute Australian Labradoodle here at the recommendation of my neighbor. I gave a visual example in the form of a photo and video with specific hair length guidance on each part of the body. The groomer failed to follow instructions and my poor dog was shaved to the skin without my consent. When I called to ask why this happened, she lied and said my dog walker agreed to this cut. See photos of what she looked like before, what was provided as inspiration and how she was returned to me.

Amazing amazing amazing!! Can't recommend Doggie Details team enough. My golden retriever pup got her first groom appointment here and she came back smelling & looking adorable. Pricing is really fair and the staffs are really communicative. Will definitely be back!

We've taken our mini labradoodle here for 9+ months now and have loved every single hair grooming. They're super affordable, the people are so nice and the hair cuts look incredible. The ONLY down side is I don't think they're a secret cause they've gotten very popular and you have to schedule an appointment a week out. But that's because they're so amazing so I'm not complaining!

Found this business on yelp and so very glad I did. First the staff was welcoming and We could tell they are dog lovers. My dog Zuri was a little shy at first, but the staff was patient with Zuri, sat on the couch and waited for her. When we picked her up she was so clean and beautiful, they addressed all doggies details. A huge plus is she embraced the staff bye on her way out! This is definitely our new spot! Thanks to the whole team.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. They not only messed up my 7 month old dog's haircut, but gave her RAZOR BURN ON HER VULVA. At first the haircut upset me, but at this point, I am more concerned about how uncomfortable she is on her crotch. This is the 2nd and last time she will be brought here. She did not get burned during her first visit. I brought her in 1 day prior to her spay so that she can get an upkeep haircut. Whoever spoke to me on the phone on 4/20/24 at 10:20AM confirmed it would be a "butt, feet, and face" groom. When I got to her appointment on 4/25/26, I spoke to the groomer. I made it super clear that that is all I wanted, including the typically ear cleaning and nail trim, just to get my baby all cleaned up before her surgery that would have been the next day. She asked me if she wanted me to cut the top of her head and I said NO. 3 hours roll by and my mom picks up my dog. She sends me photos (as I was at work) and I'm horrified. Before they took my dog to the back to groom her, I explained to the groomer that I only wanted her to trim the hair close to her lips that was getting in her mouth every time she ate. She cut my dog's whole beard off. They also trimmed her ears and the top of her head (despite it not being in the instructions I gave her), but that same night, she started excessively licking her vulva and scooting it on the floor, yelping. It is now 4/27/24 and she still has the cone on and is still uncomfortable. After my dog was picked up on 4/25/24, I had my mom call Doggie Details since I was at work to explain my concerns with her haircut (not yet being aware of the burn on her vulva) and they called me to say that the OWNER of DOGGIE DETAILS will give me a call between 8AM-9AM on 4/26/24, which would have been the day of her spay. I confirmed that would be okay. On 4/26/24, my dog and I waited in my car in front of her spay clinic (drop off time is 7AM) until 9AM waiting for a call back from Doggie Details. Mind you, I even called them TWICE myself that same morning. I also left a voicemail later that same day explaining that my dog also has razor burn. I feel like I gave them enough time to contact me to sort this out, but no one has answered my calls or contacted me. It is now 4/27/24 and I have not heard back at all. Overall, I decided to postpone my dog's spay appointment due to her experience at Doggie Details. They injured her and failed to contact me when they said they would. They gave my dog a bad haircut at her first appointment as well, but I thought there was no way they could mess up a simple butt, paws, and face haircut. BEWARE of this place. They injured my dog.

We took our new Baby, Harper Lee, to see Antionette for her first haircut. I could not be happier with the result. I was really picky about the type of cut I wanted for Harper, and Antionette delivered. Thank you for caring for our pets...and their neurotic parents! Here's the before and after pics.

I love how well they handled my 2 American Staffordshire Terriers! They look feel and smell great! Owners were super kind even though my dogs gave them a bit too much of their vocals in the cages. Hard to find places that take bigger dogs. Really happy to have found this place & would definitely recommend.

    Fresh cut!

Is doggie details permanently closed? Really hoping they are either doing renovations or moved to a new location. My husband tried calling but the number seemed disconnected. Really hoping they are still in business because we love them!

Not permanently closed. Had to relocate, but we are now open at 5118 W 190th street Torrance CA 90503. Same shopping center as the 99 cent store. Hope to see you again!

Do you take "sensitive" dogs? I have a 7lb rescue who can be timid and sometimes nip if she gets scared

Does anyone know if they crate the dogs while waiting to be picked up or do they have somewhere to roam or be leashed to as an option? My dog has crate trauma and doesn't do well in a crate.

Yes, we do crate our dogs while they are at my shop. However, we are very accommodating to to leash your loyal companion if you so wish.

She didn't really have any behavior problems that stood out to us aside from all the normal puppy hyper mayhem zoomies, teething and impatient-ness--since she was figuring out how to be a dog herself too. She started school at 4 months and now she's done at 7 months. We are very busy, and we could only bring her in once a week and it still worked out! Even with a month pause in between because of her spay procedure. You won't regret enrolling your pup in their program because the trainer really understands dog language--a dog whisperer for sure. I waited until our second visit before writing this review because I wanted to be sure -- and I can confidently say I absolutely love Bella Banana! First of all, the salon has a fully open concept with large windows where you can actually see the dogs being groomed. This is very important to me.
