We had a really great experience with our dog. She's very timid and isn't a fan of new places, but she didn't mind being here at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful right away. They explained everything (and it's all very intuitive as well), as this was my first time visiting a self-wash station. I love the shampoo that's used here. It is dispensed from a small hose which makes it very easy to use. It has a good, mild smell, and best of all, it's kept my dog smelling great. There are handy scrub brushes and a little leash to keep your dog contained in the tub. Our dog hadn't experienced a dog dryer before (sort of like a reverse shop vacuum), but she actually seemed to enjoy being air dried. We'll definitely be returning! (Also, it's really close to the Redondo dog park, which makes it very convenient for us). read more

I generally like this place very much, but was disappointed to walk in at 5:20 PM and be told that I had to finish by 5:30 PM even though the window clearly said 5:45 PM. The woman explained that the window was out of date but that the website and Yelp were both up-to-date. Well, I just read the details on Yelp as of today, January 16, and it says last bath out by 5:45 PM. Guess she just wanted to go home early. read more

My Great Dane loves this place. They treat him like a king. Washing him is so easy here. They offer grooming services if you don't want to do it yourself but with everything provided and clean up done by the staff it's worth trying to do it yourself. The staff is super friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else! And you shouldn't either. read more

Having tried all the various do-it-yourself dog bathers in South Bay my wife and I have settled on Ushampooch as by far and away the best. In terms of price and facilities they're all on a general par (none particularly better, worse, cheaper or more expensive than the other) but Ushampooch stands out for a few reasons: the exceptionally friendly ambience (owner Lily and her staff are great, welcoming, seem to know all their customers personally (canine and human)) - one of our little rascals is a determined escape artist, and others occasionally relieve themselves indoors, all of which Lily & co take in great humor - there's a wonderful atmosphere to the place; the proximity to the Torrance dog-park we frequent, which the dogs love, but always pick up fleas from (so its STRAIGHT around the corner to Ushampooch after for a de-fleaing); the MUSIC (check out their 'stations' on Pandora - excellent - if you're an Eighties kid particularly - I could hang out here all day and night, like a bar/club, with this DJ playing - and yes, Lily takes requests); and just nice touches such as when we ordered a claw clipping, and the lady did indeed clip them up but then said "You know, they didn't really need doing" and didn't charge us - a lot of places would have taken the money anyway - they didn't - and that was appreciated. Loved this place! Been trying to figure out the best way to bath new long legged pup. Place was so well laid out. Super organized. Very sweet and attentive staff. We will def be back as the super pup gets bigger and bigger. Make sure to call for specials as they change weekly. Thanks for a great first trip and being so helpful. I was happy with the place and the staff was very friendly. I noticed a customer review that griped about hair in the store...really? It's a dog wash...dog's have hair - it isn't a restaurant. During my visit, the staff was very attentive to cleaning the stalls and vacuuming after each dog. I will definitely return with my dog. And yet another star off for very slippery floors, my dog has screws in his legs (received them from the previous owner) and my dog was slipping and sliding on the wet floor. I went to this groomer for about 2 years. I can't really say that I had any complaints until as of late. It was time for my dog to get groomed, and I noticed, as I was examining him, that his dew claw nail on one of his paws had not been trimmed for quite some time. In fact, it was so long, it had curled all the way around and was a 1/4 inch away from pressing into his skin. I felt really bad for him. Yes, I do feel dumb that I didn't notice this before, but it's nonsense that it happened in the first place. I also called to make an appointment recently and was told that the main groomer was sick and there were no appointments open for a month. Went to Lovely Dog Beauty Salon on Torrance Blvd and had a great experience. I will be returning to Lovey Dog. Sorry uShampooch. read more

Very disappointing. I took my pup here for the first time for a bath and we were immediately greeted by the worker with an attitude and told that it was about to close (even though it was still 30 before closing time.) They have a policy where they close at a certain time but the final wash is actually earlier then that. Why not just close 30min earlier??? Anyhow the woman was rude and quickly hurried us into the stall. She showed the annoyance on her face and didn't want to show us what amenities they have and where everything was. My friend also came in with her dog and were put into a dirty stall. I heard from a friend that frequents regularly that you can choose your scent of shampoo however we were only given one option. I did ask about others but I was dismissed with the idea. Once it was time to dry my pup after bathing her I was directed towards a big blower almost like a car vacuum. My dog got very scared and began shaking from the noise and air pressure.(She's a small dog) At this point I wasn't offered a small blow dryer which apparently they have. The woman worker said don't worry she'll live and rolled her eyes. At the end of everything my friends pug ran into the store and the woman's German Shepherd began barking really loud. She told my friend not to let her dog get too close because he'll eat him. We left pretty upset and very disappointed, specifically over the lack of customer service. I just have to say that this place is fantastic. There are some rather interesting reviewers here who I guess do not have a grasp on reality. The premises are incredibly clean, if you are expecting to eat off the floors, guess what, it's a dog wash facility and there will be hair. The people working there do a great job at cleaning throughout the day and helping you whenever you need another towel or more soap or another whatever you nee. And for the 5:30 complainers, you have to draw the line somewhere. They have to prep the store for the next day but are nice enough to stay open for people that want to come in and buy something as it's a store as well as a dog wash. I've been coming here for five years and I have never had a bad experience. This is a great facility. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews. I have been coming here for a long time and have MANY options but still bring my bully here. From day 1 have had no issues at all. Someone complained about psychotic behavior? WTH? How? Who? I don't understand where people get these ideas. Don't believe that. Everyone there is super nice and far from psychotic. I also saw some reviews had recommended "Bubbles"? Ushampooch has much better ratings! Why bubbles? It doesn't make sense. Ushampooch is a perfect place to take your dog. This is my second review on Ushampooch. I think I may have messed something up a while back and accidentally agreed or "Liked" a bad review but I have no clue how that happened. I'm not a common user of Yelp and its clear to see from my only 2 reviews. My first review was a horrible experience elsewhere and this review for Ushampooch. I am a firm believer of the saying, "People will speak up if they either had a HORRIBLE experience or an OUTSTANDING experience. Not if they have just a bad or good experience." They've got separate stalls for each bath with all the tools you'll need to get your pet squeaky clean and smelling fresh... and an apron so you don't get soaked in the process! I take my 140lb Rotty regularly here to get washed. The best self serve dog groomer in the SB. I never have to wait and it's always fast, easy and super clean. My dog has terrible allergies and the raw and organic dog food they sell there is perfect for my him. It's cheap too in comparison to the other stores I have bought from. Lily, the owner, is great. She always has great advice on how to bathe (shampoos for shedding, dandruff, fleas etc) and what to feed Ruca. She even stores my dogs medicated shampoo which I think is great. While we use this establishment to wash our dogs and will continue to as we need the tubs etc., it has really gone downhill with the new owners. The shampoo is so diluted as to make it un-useable. I used the entire bottle and still couldn't get any suds on my dog. I left not feeling like my dog was clean. Next time I will just bring my own shampoo but you really shouldn't have to do that. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a while and it's overdue! A few months ago I wrote a rather unfavorable review about ushampooch due to an isolated incident in which they closed early and I was S.O.L on bathing my dog before family came to town the next day. Prior to that I had perfectly fine interactions there but was so mad I wrote my review based on that single incident. The next day I had a very heartfelt apology written to me on here and the owner offered me 3 free washes to make up for what happened. I was impressed to say the least! In addition, everytime I've been there since she has been very nice and knows me and my dog both by name. If I was an owner of an establishment I imagine I would be defensive about someone writting such a review about me but the owner was very apologetic and owned up to her end of things while explaining it was a family emergency and why they closed up early. Prior to that incident I was neutral on the place but after her above and beyond response to rectify my dissatisfaction I would not take my dog anywhere else. As for the place itself... it is always clean, good music, staff is helpful and their shampoos are great and leave my dogs coat shiny without a residue. Local vibe and you can tell many of the patrons are regulars. Thumbs up all around. read more

I've experienced better. I have two westie puppies and I took them here for the first time. They're puppies so they don't really need much done to their hair (as far as cutting is concerned). The cut was a little too short and it didn't look "styled". I could have accomplished the same thing with my trimmers at home. read more

Lily has turned a good self-serve dog wash into a great spa for dogs! The upgrades and refurbishing have given the place a very Zen-like atmosphere for dirty dogs, making what can be a messy chore into an efficient, easy operation. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and Lily is very welcoming and patient. She clearly loves her business and does everything possible to make sure her clients, human and canine, love it too! The variety of healthy food options for dogs is amazing and well displayed, and my golden, Abby, always loves picking out a toy or treat to carry out with her. It was our first time here, and after walking around for a minute then asking what we should be doing we got some good customer service. I thought it was a little overpriced ($16) for the DIY cleaning (and the blow dryer was cold so we skipped it... maybe it warms up?) but an OK experience overall. We had a few of our pup's nails filed down after her bath- definitely not worth $10, though. We may come back... but would need a more compelling reason to choose this over our tub at home for free.
