Tracy has kept my rescue mini Schnauzer on three different occasions this past year. The 1st time we were on an international cruise and my dog stayed with Tracy at her house. My dog is a rescue with special needs and generalized anxiety. Tracy took her to my house everyday to play and hangout to help with the anxiety. When we came home, Delilah was calm and happy. We found Tracy on Yelp and decided to hire her to take our 25 lbs Cocker Spaniel Poodle mix overnight over the Thanksgiving holiday. We nearly cut our trip short due to the experience. Tracy came by our home to meet our dog. Seemed to go well enough that she took on the job. Our dog is not perfect, he can be temperamental with strangers and we shared that with her. He is the joy of our family and especially our kids. She joked that the two other female dogs she was boarding would put him in his place. She asked us for a key to our home and that she would pick up/dropoff and also bring him home once in awhile. I did think it was strange that we did not see where she would be boarding him overnight. Just told us she's in Redondo. Day of our trip, my husband called her from the road to let her know he had left as was instructed by her. She told him do not call, only text unless it's an emergency. When she arrived, she sent us video of our dog barking at her. Without us in the home, he clearly was upset and being protective. She said she couldn't take him while he's being aggressive. Of course we understood. She fed him, then left. This went on for a few days. Our dog eventually warmed up enough to her where she created an Instagram reel of him at our home (we had not given her permission to do so). I finally asked her what her plans were, if it would be possible to take him on a walk. At this point, he had not gone out for a walk in 3 days. We walk and run him twice/day. He was being left alone other than her brief visits twice/day. She told me 'it would be too dangerous' and that she can't be liable if he runs loose. He runs with me daily and she's a 'professional' dog trainer and walker. Dog trainers we've worked with are able to get his attention and obedience immediately. At this point, my husband said he would leave the day before Thanksgiving to get him. We put the word out to our wonderful neighbors and one of them took him in. They facetimed us as they went into our house, our dog was ecstatic. I will say Tracy did refund us for the balance since we paid upfront. But also made sure to give us one last jab by telling us that 'she did us a favor' by taking the job. Clearly this was not a fit. read more

We started using Tracy with Fancy Tails right after moving to California a year ago and luckily found Tracy as a referral from our neighbor. We have two small dogs and she spends the night with them when we're out of town for long trips or comes by for visits (meals and walks) for day trips.
