This place lacks so much professionalism. First, they have a person answering the phone who sounds like she's either asking someone for the answers or is reading off a script. Secondly, I tried to fill out the paperwork online and their website was glitchy and it kept saying I was missing a field, but I wasn't. Third of all, when I called to notify them of this and to ask if there were alternatives, and when we would be able to do a meet and greet, the girl on the phone was clueless, she just kept saying I will notify my manager and she will be in touch. I just didn't have a good feeling about this place and as much as I didn't want to, I ended up taking my baby to petsmart hotel since I was able to consistently get a response and check up on my furbaby when I was out of town. read more

I called to enquire about specifics for boarding conditions for my dog prior to him being shipped overseas and was met with a total lack of professionalism. I was asking questions like size of kennel, number of walks per day, if there is staff onsite after-hours in case of emergency, whether I can visit my dog during the day and spend time with him since I am at local hotel. The office person kept referring to the pet shipper and refused to answer basic questions.Only meant to better understand how my dog would be treated. After the fourth question, she hung up on me. Would not take my return call since they can see my number. I am recommending to all those on the west coast that are investigating boarding here. My dog is a family member and this is only the first social media posting I am making in the hopes of saving other pet owners the stress of an incompetent facility. Reply to Office Manager Tim: I disagree with your response. I was not rude or aggressive. Too old for that. I was only requesting information prior to making a reservation as any responsible pet owner should. The pet shipper has nothing to do with your facility. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. When I dropped off my cat I asked to see where he would be kept and was told they don't allow anyone back there. Why not? What are you hiding? Why not be transparent? When I came back to pick him up, I wasn't even allowed in the lobby. The guy basically shut the door in my face and went and got my cat. Wow! Wish I could give a 10 star rating, since my two dogs loved their first four nights with a very caring and attentive staff. Initial impression was awesome because I started a boarding request online and saved it before submitting, because I needed to scan and upload their shot records. Within 30 minutes someone called to say they saw my saved request and did I want to book? I responded I still needed to get their medical records loaded and found out they had already called our Vet and had them. Such proactive care was the first indication this place is special. We have never boarded our two dogs in their nine years, except with trusted friends. When I was packing up their food to bring, I commented to my husband that they don't eat much when we are gone, so I was sure I packed enough. Arrival intake was very comforting. We could tell they would pay close attention and were very positive and caring. We received emailed reports daily with photos. They were not 'cut and paste' messages. They were specific to our dogs. When we picked them up, the pups were excited to see us. We had opted for a cute cabin for them along with day care. They were full of energy and happy. To top it off, they had eaten ALL of their food. I would have bet against it. They were tuckered out and have slept a lot Another sign they had fun and felt loved. Cheers to the whole team. Hi! We travel often and we are not always allowed to bring our dog. This time we went to the East coast for 10 days. We were sad/scared to leave our dog by herself for because she wasn't feeling well and was lethargic/not really eating due to her medicine. The staff was great at trying different methods to make her eat and gave her extra attention to keep a close eye on her. They called me when she looked a little out of it and gave me a rundown of what my options would be in case she had to go to the dr. while we were away (thankfully, we did not need to do that). My Husband and I had to take our Rescue pup, Ti Ti, for an emergency overnight stay due to an urgent medical issue. My Husband called another kennel, which was full, but they referred him to the "El Segundo Pet Resort". El Segundo Pet Resort accepted our 1-year old pup on short notice. Ti Ti loved it there! We were so glad they took such good care of her. Especially since she suffers from separation anxiety. Two weeks later, we experienced an unexpected hospital stay, and we immediately made a reservation for Ti Ti. When my Husband arrived, her tail began to wag uncontrollably!!! She was so excited to return to the El Segundo Pet Resort. The staff loves Ti Ti, and she reciprocates the love! The Staff said she is very sociable and has daily "Zoomies". The El Segundo Pet Resort takes time to require a medical history including proof of up to date shots, allergies, and any current medications. The El Segundo Pet Resort takes wonderful care of the dogs who stay there. They give updates on the pets in their care, including, behavior, eating habits, social activity, and how they interact with people. The staff are kind, and care for the pets as if they are their own. El Segundo Pet Resort understands nervous pet owners calling checking on their pets, (like us). The El Segundo Pet Resort is clean, well staffed, and runs efficiently. The staff are compassionate, and the prices are reasonable. Just FYI. Right now they DO NOT have a professional groomer on staff. But are charging the same price as they usually do. Woman was not very friendly who answered the phone. I rescued a cat and she badly needs to be groomed (poor baby her fur is matted) and have an appt to get her vaccinated before the grooming appt. they still wouldn't keep my booked appointment. I am sorry to say the last two times my pets stayed here have been very disappointing. The care they received was sub par and yet paid a lot to have them in the surfer room. Think I will put them in the open kennel downstairs next time. One of my dogs looks thin from not eating. Yet I was told when I called my dogs were eating and doing fine. Tim, you seem nice enough during my first hand experience picking up our dog, but your response to Ms Michele's review was simply inaccurate, untrue, and uncalled for. Let's start by stating what names we use on the internet are irrelavant. Michele. Kristen. Kevin. Paul. Whatever. Doesn't matter and makes zero difference in this review or Michele's review. So now that we got that out of the way....Sure, Sara the employee was on the receiving end of a negative response only AFTER she was being extremely rude and disrespectful to us, loyal customers of many years. Sara RUDELY declined our dog to be boarded at your facility for what seemed to be no reason at all other than her own petty attitude, and not wanting to give a dog her "go home Bath" the day she was going home and deciding to just repeatedly state that she had gotten the bath the day before, which we can all agree is not the day she was going home. A simple solution would have been to say "sorry guys, we will give Bella another bath today. Apologies for the miscommunication." Rather, Sara the employee started by being confrontational, threatening to hold our dog, call the police and was utterly and unexplainably aggressive and out of line. Timeline matters my friend, and standing up for your disrespectful employee Sara after she treats and talks to loyal customers the way she did is nothing short of dispicable. We were left with no choice and totally justified in our reaction to such treatment. I was actually on the phone for the call and at the facility to pick Bella up, and so i heard FIRST HAND every word, not watching some non-audio security feed, second hand, Tim. So I know first hand how useless and offensive Sara's bad attitude and words actually were. The problem was not that she respectfully declined to board our amazing dog, but quite the contrary....it is that she DISRESPECTFULLY declined us. And so she got what she asked for which is a mouthful from a completely appaulled and offended customer. We pay you good money. We keep you going. We, the customers, help keep you in business and employed. To hear an employee of your establishment talk to someone that has been loyally using your services for years was totally shocking to me. And to now find you, the so-called manager, on the internet trying to defend Sara, your disrespectful employee, like she was in the right is honestly even worse. We will not only never use your establishment again but we will be telling our friends and fellow dog owners ACTIVELY to not use you. It will be my pleasure to make sure I tell someone every single day "DO NOT use El Segundo Pet Resort and to take your beloved pets and money elsewhere." They may treat the animals with respect and dignity (hopefully), but what good is that if we the pet owners are not treated the same?! I have an elderly English bulldog that can be a handful when he decides to be. The first time staying here Sara was supportive, attentive, and aware of the special needs. My two dogs are home bodies and HATE being taken to daycare or boarding. They tolerate the El Segundo Pet Resort because their favorite vet tech from Animal Medical Group in Manhattan Beach, Kelli, is there. They were the least stressed I've seen them the last time I picked them up. read more

Just wanted to to update to say that we boarded our cat here two times, for several days each time, recently. We used to board him at his vet's office, but after the vet retired, we hadn't been able to find anywhere new to board him that didn't make him very anxious and upset. I also hated leaving him in a little metal cage at some other places. The boarding space here for cats is very nice, clean, spacious, and not near dogs (a problem we had at other boarding facilities). The staff is friendly and even let me accompany Baxter to see where he'd be staying. The best part is that Baxter came home both times in a good mood and stress-free. I needed to find a new and regular groomer for my cat that's closer to my place and based on the reviews, decided to give AMG a try. Well the first appointment I made, the groomer canceled and I wasn't notified until I was already on my way in with the cat. This was our first time trying AMG so I emailed them through their website with some initial questions and for a quote. Stephanie was quick to respond and was very helpful with setting the appointment. She allowed us to tour the facilities with our dogs beforehand as well to make sure it was a good fit. Our dogs stayed in the Safari cottage with their own little bed and TV, it was really cute. It costs a bit more for the added privacy of a cottage but my dog freaked out the last time we took him to a kennel-like place. His behavior upon our return was much more normal and he seemed pretty relaxed, so it was worth the extra $$ in my opinion. We(my dogs) will be back next time I'm due for a vacay. read more

My 6-month-old Pembroke Corgi, Ingrid, stayed for almost a week recently--her first time away from home. I knew of El Segundo because they I used to get food for my older Collie a while ago, with the occasional bath. She never stayed there but loved Kelli, the tech from her vet in Manhattan Beach. When I called (after 5 years!) to make arrangements for Ingrid and gave my name Kelli remembered my Collie, Buttons. Ingrid stayed in the "Surfer Room" and had a great time. WOW!! DO NOT GO HERE. If you like for you and your pets to be treated well, this is not the spot. Our pet was hurt and stressed when we picked him up and SARAH at the front desk could not have been more rude and uncaring. She even hung up on us when we called to speak to a manager. Which by the way, doesn't act like one either and won't help you with any sort of problem, and they tell you that the owner of this place is unreachable. How is the owner not ever available with a private business? Obviously no integrity. Sarah will also tell you that Timothy the manager is not there, when he is, just to keep you from actually speaking to a "manager" which is so unprofessional and suspicious. So you really have no where to go if there's a loss, problem, or injury for your pet. Best to go somewhere else with your furry friend, especially if you want to feel safe about where you leave them!! There's no security here with the competence of a decent staff and no way to contact the company owner. BTW, they told me that they've called the cops on people in the past. I had to board my cat while we were getting the roof replaced. I had to cancel several times secondary to the roofers schedule and AMG was fine with that and never charged me a cancelation fee. No cat likes to leave home, but she was safe and taken care of. The staff even mentioned I was free to call anytime to check in on her. read more

AMG Pet Resort took my two cats on very short notice and were unbelievably helpful. I was in a pinch and they took excellent care of my two sweet idiot cats for the day. They answer emails promptly, both times I was there I saw an employee happily walking dogs. The facility looked clean. Over all a happy camper. 10/10 will go back! We brought our dog in for his first haircut and Danny (the groomer) did a fantastic job. The kind staff gave me an impromptu tour of the facility. This is the best facility for boarding a pet, and having your pet groomed. The groomer, Danny, is the best in the south bay area. He left for a brief period of time, but returned about one month ago. My dog loves him, and always come back to me looking beautiful and happy. PARKING FOR THIS FACILITY IS A BREEZE. For boarding, no place is better and I can go away knowing that my dog is well cared for, looked after, safe, and pampered in quite luxurious surroundings.
