Extra Space really needs to say more about their amenities on the website. There was a red flag though: no one in the office. That had been a recurring problem with the other facility. I still had some questions not covered on the website and the chat line was busy. I called. That didn't turn out well. I was asked to verify everything that I had just entered online and was asked to enter my CC on the telephone key pad which kept failing. When the woman on the other end said she would get technical help I hung up and started over. I already had my questions answered. After that, I saw a sign in the window saying the attendant was on the property and gave a number to reach her/him. A good sign, but it had just been put there. A few minutes later the attendant showed up. All that was not enough was not enough to take off a star. When you choose a size locker, if there's more than one of the same type available you are shown a map and you get to choose the location. You pay for the lock on registration which is unique to the Extra Space, in which you insert into the specially designed doors. It's easy to use and hard to pick.

So with this unit added on, the amount raised totals $220 each month. We don't have extra money on a fixed income, Social Security. We haven't met the new crew yet, but we were always treated good and with respect from the old crew, especially the hired help Lisa more than the managers. We saw her more often, and she is an asset to the company. The previous manager Mike wanted to keep us as clients so they didn't apply as steep a raise when prices went up. The new owners raised everything all at once, taking money from food and needed prescriptions. I guess they don't want to keep the older dependable clients who have been there for years. I picked up the chairs the next day. It was a little more than $5 to rent two chairs for three days. They had another guy bring them out to my car for me. The chairs were sturdy and not terribly uncomfortable. Returning the chairs was just as quick and easy as getting them. Will be back if I need to rent some chairs or other items that they carry. Because traffic was heavy on highway 61, my car was idling in the path of the electric gates. There were people in front of and in back of me so I couldn't get out of the way. No big deal, right? By law, automatic gates require a safety feature that prevents people/objects from being crushed. Not this one. They removed the electric eye because it "kept opening" according to the owner, and my car was crushed, causing $2000 worth of damage. The witchy receptionist lady was rude from the first minute I called. No one answered the "emergency" number, which makes me wonder what was happen if the place was on fire or something. She called me back 2 days later, saying that it was my fault, and that there are signs saying that there is an electric gate. Huh? Does that excuse your faulty system? I finally got her to agree to have her boss call me back. He wouldn't give me their insurance information. When he finally did, he lied about what happened and they denied my claim, costing me a $500 deductible. Awful place, terrible customer service, dumpy storage units. Spend a few extra bucks and get a decent place with people who know how to provide customer service.

My wife and I used this service last year when we purchased our house. We were sent 3 of the…read morelaziest people I have ever seen, they could not cube out a van to save their lives. My brother-on-law moved 3 trailers full of stuff, going back and forth from Hugo to Blaine before they even got to my house the first time, we all left at the same time. I think they were intentionally slow so they could charge us 4x's the amount quoted to me for an entire day (which is only 4 hours for them). They also broke multiple items, even with their "insurance" I was not reimbursed for anything. I also had to have them correct the contract 5 times before they actually got it correct. This company is horrible, if I could give them negative stars I would. This company is so crooked they are a circle! Response: your crew did not take an unpaid lunch break, it was included in the time they added to my bill at the end. They also very much pressure me to tip them because, as they put it, "This company does not pay us very well." Not only was I quoted roughly $1500, and it ended up costing me almost $5K for the service, I ended up tipping them because they know where I live and I didn't want anything to happen to my wife, and your crew took more breaks than they actually worked. Regardless of what you say, your company is crooked, incompetent, and needs to be put out of business. My next report is to the BBB!
