Downtown Post Office - Another wonderful gift from Susan. I sure use a lot of stamps! Thank you! 09/22:26

Pleasantly surprised, based on the reviews! There's plenty of parking, although if you are coming…read morefrom the south going north toward Broadway, the first parking lot is a lot for loading and employees. To save a few steps (and to be in the right spot) make sure you go to the second lot. The exterior felt quite industical, and the post office sign had a very retro vibe, like it had lived in Louisville for awhile. Someone should clean that thing, because I swear, it is feeling historic. Inside, may feel a bit dated in certain spots, but their are gift cards, greeting cards, and plenty of packaging options to choose from. Plus, a passport sation for our convenience. Most importantly, the employee behind the counter was super sweet and efficient, making her way through a busy holiday line swiftly. Bonus points: super cute baby animal stamps!

It took forever to receive a few packages. One arrived not completely sealed and missing an item…read more This package went everywhere back and forth before finally making it to me. Totally unacceptable! I filed a claim due to the package being insured. I was told to receive money I would have to return the package and the item received to USPS to keep. The item received cost more than the item lost so why would I give that to USPS? Total nonsense! Needless to say the insurance was USELESS! I was told, by a supervisor, there is a problem with theft in the bigger facilities. I 100% blame the Louisville KY USPS facility since this is where the problem started. I am out money for an item I will never receive!! USPS DO BETTER!!! HORRIBLE service and experience!! Would not recommend especially if packages have to go through Louisville KY!

This post office location is fine, but it's easy to tell it's old and has been run down and in…read moredisrepair for many years. There are never more than 1-2 people working, so the lines can get long, and you may have to wait a prolonged time even for something that should be extremely quick and simple. They don't have anything you can use, including pens, so be sure to come completely prepared with everything you will need for your transaction. (I will add they have let me borrow a pen before, but I had to wait in line to be able to ask for it, then I had to step out of line to use it, and then wait through line again to perform my transaction and return the pen - though it took me only seconds to write what I needed, they would not allow me to do it at the desk.) They do not have any pens at the counters, and I have noticed recently they do not leave out anything - no certified mail items, no packaging items, etc. You have to wait through line and ask for everything. Because I work downtown I have visited this post office many times, but it's definitely not my favorite location in the city. That said, if you need to do something at the post office, you'll be able to do it here.

Just the worst. Going to the post office shouldn't be like going to the DMV. An exercise in…read morefrustration. The old woman who rules the Post office at this location is rude, condescending and unprofessional. She also doesn't know what she's doing. She should retire. The hours are speculative. They allegedly open at 0900 and here it is, 10am and it's still closed. They take long, Spanish style siestas as well. Basically, she does as she pleases and we just have to put up with it.
