I was running errands in Middletown recently and realized that I needed to drop something off at the post office. I pulled out my phone to search for the closest one and saw that it was in nearby Anchorage, and just a few minutes' drive. I set my map to go there and was on my way. As I approached, the hustle and bustle of Shelbyville Rd gave way to the bucolic peace of Anchorage. I followed gently winding roads veiled with leafy trees until I reached the quaint Post Office. Inside it was quiet, and a friendly (!) employee immediately helped me get my item mailed. No waiting required, as I was the only person in the post office that day. We chatted pleasantly while she weighed and printed my postage, and I was quickly in my way. A little gem of a find, this USPS location is sure to put a smile on your face as well!

When I walked in, the self service kiosk had a pretty long line, but I was able to quickly drop my package into the package drop without any issues. What I didn't realize is that the retail counter stays open until 6 p.m., which ended up being really convenient. Instead of waiting in the kiosk line, I was able to go straight to a clerk, who scanned my QR code and got my package processed in just a couple of minutes. The entire process was quick, seamless, and the employee who helped me was friendly and efficient. It's always nice when a shipping trip is easier than expected. If you have a package that requires a QR code, it's worth checking if the counter is still open. It can save you quite a bit of time.

Totally unacceptable! I filed a claim due to the package being insured. I was told to receive money I would have to return the package and the item received to USPS to keep. The item received cost more than the item lost so why would I give that to USPS? Total nonsense! Needless to say the insurance was USELESS! I was told, by a supervisor, there is a problem with theft in the bigger facilities. I 100% blame the Louisville KY USPS facility since this is where the problem started. I am out money for an item I will never receive!! USPS DO BETTER!!! HORRIBLE service and experience!! Would not recommend especially if packages have to go through Louisville KY!

The Post Master/Mistress has always been very helpful and anytime I call her she takes care of my concerns or answers my questions. A little history about Oldham County Post offices: The first two post offices in Oldham County were Westport, on the Ohio River, and Floydsburg, near Crestwood. Floydsburg, one mile outside of Crestwood, was located along a major stagecoach route between Louisville and New Castle, which went on to Frankfort. It collected mail for the central part of the county. This was a stage coach "toll" road, and people paid tolls here to pass through. There were several other major stagecoach lines that developed in Oldham County that delivered mail, one of which connected at Beard's Station, which later was renamed Crestwood. A densely forested area of hardwood trees of hickory, ironwood, beech and popular adorned the area during its early history, which began around 1850. The community's founder was Joseph Beard, son of William and a nephew and direct descendant of John Campbell -- the leader of the Campbell clan, which has deep roots in Scottish history.

You'll pay a small fee to use them at the passport agency and their clerk will help complete your paperwork, plus verify your signature. This post office offers a decent parking lot as well as a pull through for those not going in, but needing to drop off mail. I've never struggled to find a spot for a quick in and out. The passport office isn't obvious until you are at the door, which is locked and you'll knock on. I stood in line at the mailing line first and they directed me. No need to be there early. My appointment was at 10a, their first, and no one was in the office until 10a. Only one person at a time so you may need to wait outside until the current customer leaves. Friendly service at the passport desk. I'd printed and completed 90% of the application and the clerk did his part plus witnessed my signature. The picture taking was a major close up! Let's say I won't be sharing my passport photo LOL - if you can do your own within the dimensions and make it flattering then I recommend that! This little local is a post office in the area, being new to the area it's Siri that guides the way. Now this office has the ability to be used twenty four seven with lobby access. You have to wait until 9:30 for the actually building to open and you can have face to face conversations with the post officer. The staff here are very knowledgeable and friendly. It's a small local with plenty of parking. The lines can run a little longer because it's so small. Get all your mail needs met here. Thank you for your help and support.
