This is a highly trained, extremely professional police force. Possibly the best that Bullitt…read moreCounty, KY has ever seen. Four or five stars, easy. But these guys are in trouble. The city of Shepherdsville is in a state of financial crisis and the best and brightest police officers, under the looming threat of lay-offs and salary cuts, are leaving in droves. That being said, these fine men and women have the best reputation of any law enforcement agency around. If I were traveling through Bullitt County, KY and I were in need of assistance, then I would certainly hope that one of the Shepherdsville Police Department's officers would be the ones to respond. I hope the same can still be said in the coming months. The mismanagement by the city administrators and the attrition of the best, most highly skilled officers to other agencies limits my rating of this department to three stars.

No AI VOICE ,SIL. , Tiffany, answered in just a few rings. Patiently, she answered all my questions. I asked if I was receiving all the discounts available to me, and she referenced a new Indiana tax law that gives seniors an extra $100 discount on property taxes. She went on to explain the qualifications for the discount (age/adjusted gross income) and that I needed to come by the office with my 2025 federal tax return. Dreading a visit to the new Clark County Government Center, I was expecting long waits, cranky clerks - you know the drill. But I was pleasantly surprised. A short wait (maybe 5 minutes), and Tiffany was there to help. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Now, I'm sure not every day runs this smoothly, but it's great to visit a government office and be greeted with a smile and efficient service.

Haha. & they were awesome! Plz refer to events as to what "Blight Out" consists of. It felt good to gather with people of all different walks of life & work for the common good of our city. It was art therapy at its finest as well as a concerted effort to make our city beautiful in homes in which become only vacant & vandalized buildings. This was a very enjoyable project that I'll enjoy returning to next year. Thanks Yelp, Emily, for the opp, & the department for hosting my daughter & I.

The staff is always friendly, helpful and will do whatever it takes to provide excellent service. The Post Master/Mistress has always been very helpful and anytime I call her she takes care of my concerns or answers my questions. A little history about Oldham County Post offices: The first two post offices in Oldham County were Westport, on the Ohio River, and Floydsburg, near Crestwood. Floydsburg, one mile outside of Crestwood, was located along a major stagecoach route between Louisville and New Castle, which went on to Frankfort. It collected mail for the central part of the county. This was a stage coach "toll" road, and people paid tolls here to pass through. There were several other major stagecoach lines that developed in Oldham County that delivered mail, one of which connected at Beard's Station, which later was renamed Crestwood. A densely forested area of hardwood trees of hickory, ironwood, beech and popular adorned the area during its early history, which began around 1850. The community's founder was Joseph Beard, son of William and a nephew and direct descendant of John Campbell -- the leader of the Campbell clan, which has deep roots in Scottish history.

Writing a review of a courthouse seems a bit odd, really. I have been inside of this building so…read moremany times over the past 7-8 years or so that I feel like I owe it to Yelp to finally add it to the search bag. Courthouses serve a specific purpose. If you have your own case or are simply accompanying a friend/family member, you can bet that things will be just as most courthouses. Security upon entering the building, slow elevators, and not the cleanest place in the city...these are all part of it. If you happen to be an attorney, social worker, other services provider that finds yourself in the Judicial Center then you are likely just hoping to get your case called in a timely manner so that you don't have to spend the entire day at 7th and Jefferson. Some basic info for first time visitors: -park in the garage across the street to avoid having to reload a meter (you can only pay for 2 hours at a time) -if you do park at a meter, take a picture of the meter number so that you can reload it on your phone using the app...so. much. easier. -do not bring crazy things into the building, it will likely set the mags off and you will have to keep it with the sheriffs and then might be late for your court hearing -pack a lunch, snack, dinner, whatever seems like a meal you might end up having to skip (court ALWAYS takes longer than you expect) -bring a book/magazine, work, and your phone charger (just in case) -do not wear pajama pants, revealing clothing, tank tops (it's cold in this building, people), or offensive words/pictures on your fit...judges do not appreciate this -turn your phone ringers off when you go inside the courtroom (duh) -use the courthouse snack shop for drinks, packaged snacks, and Nord's donuts -the buildings connect via a pedway on the 2nd floor (you're welcome on rainy/cold/snowy days) I could go on and on but I won't. Remember, 7th and Jefferson (The Judicial Center) houses family court divisions 1-10 (only 4th-6th floors) as well as all the circuit court divisions. The building at 6th and Jefferson is district court including juvenile court on the 3rd floor. Good luck!

In today's world you can do many tasks on-line via your own computer. Sometimes, it's nice to have…read morea face to face conversation with a human being to have circumstances reviewed and questions answered. That face to face meeting was exactly what I needed to happen with the Social Security Administration. After phoning the appropriate phone number I was a tad bit worried about the experience I may have during an actual meeting. If rating the phone experience alone it would be a 2.5 stars. This is based on busy signals, rambling messages, worming through the transfer system and the inability to talk to a live representative. So I went to the Social Security Administration without having a scheduled appointment. I feared disorganization and long waits. Oh how I had misjudged this agency with wrong preconceived notions. I met my husband in the parking lot and we entered the building together. Upon entering we were greeted from a distance by a security guard who pointed to a registration machine. Wow, a nice clean touch screen system, where you enter your Social Security number, then follow the prompts for reason for visit, etc. At the end it spits out a small paper tag with your registration number. We had a seat in the clean lobby and proceeded to wait for our number to be called. Within 10 minutes we were called to window "number" B. We met briefly with that employee who determined we needed to meet with a case worker who could further answer our questions, print out our options, and assist us with evaluating the whole picture. So we went back to the lobby area to wait. I figured it would be another 10-15 minutes. Wrong again. We no more than took a seat and we heard our last name announced and were told to go to window number 11. The case worker was a delightful, intelligent young lady who understood our questions and was armed with computer print outs of our collective Social Security data. She plunked the information we presented into the system and printed out our options. We were not rushed to make a decision but advised to take the information home with us and decide what works best with our current financial situation. She informed us because we had shown up in-person to make the inquiries she would generate a letter that was good for six months to make that date be the application date. WOW, my head is still spinning with this positive experience. Now we have a phone number to call to make an appointment or we can complete our application process on-line. A true five star experience with a government agency.
