I was running errands in Middletown recently and realized that I needed to drop something off at the post office. I pulled out my phone to search for the closest one and saw that it was in nearby Anchorage, and just a few minutes' drive. I set my map to go there and was on my way. As I approached, the hustle and bustle of Shelbyville Rd gave way to the bucolic peace of Anchorage. I followed gently winding roads veiled with leafy trees until I reached the quaint Post Office. Inside it was quiet, and a friendly (!) employee immediately helped me get my item mailed. No waiting required, as I was the only person in the post office that day. We chatted pleasantly while she weighed and printed my postage, and I was quickly in my way. A little gem of a find, this USPS location is sure to put a smile on your face as well!

It's so small I didn't want to take pictures of the area because it was cramped with just five people on the waiting. What it lacks in space it makes up for in customer service. The gentleman in front of me was lost. The young woman working with him even though he didn't make a purchase. She used her data and looked up directions with a map on her phone. She was just as kind and helpful to me. There was a discrepancy between about the destination I was given and the one in the system of my package. She confirmed the address was correct. Quite happy with exchange.

This post office offers a decent parking lot as well as a pull through for those not going in, but needing to drop off mail. I've never struggled to find a spot for a quick in and out. The passport office isn't obvious until you are at the door, which is locked and you'll knock on. I stood in line at the mailing line first and they directed me. No need to be there early. My appointment was at 10a, their first, and no one was in the office until 10a. Only one person at a time so you may need to wait outside until the current customer leaves. Friendly service at the passport desk. I'd printed and completed 90% of the application and the clerk did his part plus witnessed my signature. The picture taking was a major close up! Let's say I won't be sharing my passport photo LOL - if you can do your own within the dimensions and make it flattering then I recommend that!
