This location is stealing packages. Anything I order under 50 makes it to my door. Anything 100 or more shows up as missing, and delivery fails every time. I tried calling, and it went straight to voicemail. This location needs to be shut down and investigated. Doubt that will happen, though. USPS is trash. read more

Just passed through this post office to send several packages. And despite my many packages, my trip was fast and efficient -- pretty much what you want from a post office. I was happy to find little line when I arrived shortly after 5 p.m. A quick aside here: This post office is one of the few I've found in the area opened until 6 p.m. So helpful to keep in mind! Anyway, I had to wait just a few minutes to make my way to a clerk, who was patient as she processed each package, asking me to confirm a few zip codes that I hadn't written clearly enough. Plus, I was especially grateful for the speediness considering I had my son in tow, and a tablet was only going to keep his attention for so long. When I noticed that I had the wrong address for one package, she gave me some white sticker paper to stick over the incorrect address and write the correct one on top. All in all, a perfectly delightful trip to the post office. read more

Where do I even begin? Is it the poor customer service or the carelessness with peoples packages. Without empathy of any sort the supervisor here was quick to tell me to file for insurance which would may get me a $100. My package is way more than that. THIS IS THE WORST USPS OFFICE. I typically go to the USPS on Gardiner when I need to mail something or do some other USPS activity. Since that is the main branch... things are shipped fairly quickly. This branch is also doable. As busy as the flow of people is, I've never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes if I need to ship something. Recently I needed to take care of passport things so I decided to visit a closer branch on my lunch break. As far as passport services, this USPS branch is A+. Storytime: The only weird thing is that I arrived about 15 minutes before my appointment. Fine... I can wait. There was this family in the passport office(Dad, Mom, 3 or 4 little kids). I assumed it was just their appointment time. No big deal. They kept coming out of the passport office and apologizing to me for whatever reason. And then when they were finished, they said, "Thanks for waiting." They seemed... not sure how to say this... but heavenly? Kind of like they were missionaries about to take a trip somewhere with the kids. I didn't pay much attention to it but they were frantic and unorganized during their entire passport appointment. It could've just been some entitled family thinking they can show up and get passports whenever(when you're supposed to schedule an appointment!). The last thing I'd say is if you go to this USPS, don't be in a rush. Just go in and ship your stuff. The parking isn't bad here but it isn't ideal either. This USPS is in a plaza with a bunch of other stores, restaurants, and businesses. That parking lot can turn into a madhouse under normal circumstances. read more

The post office supervisor just lied. It was a Saturday close to 1 p.m. closing, so the best she could come up with was a lie. My VA package never arrived. The clerk at the front had already told me my package of VA meds was scanned three times on 24 Dec 2024, so the post office supervisor lied so she could dispense with me and go home. read more

I used the St. Matthews PO to submit my passport application. Very simple. I made my appointment on line, showed up 10 minutes prior to appointment and was in the office at designated time. The lady who worked there was very friendly and nice making the whole process pleasant. I was prepared and had all documents, photos, etc. and that is the key for quick processing. You can also get the application forms for first time passport and renewal passports at this PO. Overall, it was easy and quick to submit the information required. You will not get a passport here, this office is for submitting your paperwork and documentation and the PO will submit to the US Dept of State. You can also get the proper photo taken here. I use this post office about two to three days a week. The clerks are always helpful and knowledgeable. During Covid, they were patient with a wide variety of clients, including some of the most entitled, possibly racist, and often wildly demanding customers. This particular office is often quite busy, as it is in a busy shopping center. But they always work through the line of customers quickly. I am very grateful to have this St. Matthews postal location. It is super handy. read more

This is my go-to post office. Even when I lived downtown I would still drive out to this one because I hated the locations near my apartment. It stays pretty busy, but it is a bit bigger than other ones that I have been to and they have more clerks to keep the line moving. I've also gotten my passport from this office and it was a very quick and easy process. If you're wanting a P.O box, they have a huge room for them. They carry plenty of shipping supplies for purchase too. read more

This post offices many new carriers with horrendous results. Mail and packages delivered to wrong addresses. Tracking is meaningless. It can be on the truck out for delivery yet suddenly switch delivery dates. Yhey should not have routes designated as training routes I have received packages from India and China faster than the time it takes for packages to cross town from my local pst office. read more

The U. S. Post Office on Shelbyville Road is located in the same development as Trader Joe's so it is a convenient spot for me when I need stamps or need to drop off a package. The parking lot is large and busy. I had super luck on my last visit. There were 5 open parking spots right in front of the door AND there was not one single person in line!!!! Amazon informed me, my carrier had attempted delivery. I walked to the front door and no notice was there. I sifted through my mail again, still no notice. I checked the USPS site and it read: "No secure location available." Which is nonsense. All carriers, including USPS leave packages for me. So I went to the post office the following day to pick up a package. Two people worked with me. Both were professional, respectful, and kind. The package was not in the building and was not scanned out for delivery, so they gave me a number to call the carrier supervisor the next morning. Fortunately, when I returned home, the package was waiting for me in the same secure location my packages are always placed. I frequent different post offices due to the fact I sell items online. This particular branch is located in a high volume traffic area but you receive great service & shipping material options. This USPS branch is very easy to access from different locations but the parking lot is shared with Trader Joe's among other shops so parking can sometimes be frustrating. This branch carries a great stock of free USPS shipping materials as well as those that have to be purchased. The inside as well as outside are usually clutter, free of rubbish and landscaping properly cared for. There is plenty room for multiple people to stand in line while waiting for an available employee as well as counter space to fill out information or sit large packages on while you wait. All of my interactions at this particular USPS branch have always been positive even when I used 14 flat shipping boxes improperly. The employees even tried to assist me when I had to repack and address all 14! They never acted as though I frustrated or bothered them. Outside of the 14 boxes I have never had to wait long for assistance. The outside lobby has clearly marked areas for prepaid shipments as well as a kiosk and letter drops. This USPS branch offers passport photos. I would recommend this post office to anyone due to the location and my positive interactions with employees. They are very personable, inviting and proficient in their duties. read more

This does all the post office things you're expecting from a post office but this is also one of the busiest post offices I have ever been to. It is woefully understaffed and I have never, ever been here and not waited in line for a lifetime. I would suggest planning your day around going to a less trafficked post office. read more

I had to run here for a friend at Christmas time. And I was not looking forward to it, but I wanted to help my friend. This is a major post office hub in Louisville and going to it during the holidays was never in my plans. But honestly, it wasn't that bad. There was a woman at the door, directing people to different areas to make sure people got what they needed. The line was long for the main area, that you pretty much had to get into, but there was a gentleman with an iPad that was helping people (in order) with smaller things, like for me, I was just picking up a package, I just had to give him my slip and sign and I could leave before I was halfway through the line. They had their stuff in order and I would assume now in the time of Covid, they have their stuff in order too. read more

I am a teacher and come here frequently to mail out items to students during virtual instruction. The staff are always friendly. I came yesterday to mail a gift for a friend, and did not have a box. This store is located in a busy shopping center. It can be a long wait depends on the time of a day. I went there to send an international package which had a lots of options to send e.g. via air/ship and prices. The lady explained to me what I can do and it was very helpful! And I got to know it surely arrived to the destination! -is because of waiting time :( read more

There's an old lady on a power trip there that wouldn't let us get our passport. My daughter is 10 and in school and this is the only time, 4:30 she could go. She didn't care. Just too busy and mentally handicapped to help us. She lied and said she had three appointments ahead of us. But, no one was there. Had to get my fingerprints done. If I had known what I know now I would've gone anywhere else. Waited nearly an hour for the employee to converse with customers who arrived after I did. Would recommend another post office or any other method of getting fingerprints done. read more

This is in regard to a particular carrier who is new and delivers near the hospitals. Her name is Heather and she helped me to locate a missing parcel where the shipper had used the wrong address. She listened, empathised and proved she cared about my mail and her service. Amazing!!! read more

We went to get our passports done today at the post office and the clerk, Erica, was so wonderful we just had to post a review. I have had many many problems with my carrier not delivering my mail. I have spoken with the supervisor, Stephanie, in their office on multiple occasions and nothing has been done to resolve this. The carrier is claims he can't deliver mail because of the neighbors dog even though the dog is kept in the back and there is no possible way this small dog could interfere with the postman. I had a package that was supposed to be delivered today, and yet again this postman didn't deliver due to "animal interference" when the dog isn't even here. This postal worker is just being lazy. I'm so tired of not getting my mail because of his complete apathy and the offices refusal to do anything about it. What a joke of a business. read more
