I had a great experience at the Crittenden Drive location in Louisville. I went there to see about…read moregetting a replacement for my misplaced passport card. It was super busy but the employees had everything under control. There were several customers for whom English was a second language who sometimes struggled to communicate. There was a woman with a rambunctious child there for services. The staff helped each of us with the same friendliness and respect. I very much appreciated the kindness and patience exhibited toward marginalized community members from a government facility. A woman named Becky, I believe, waited on me. She was efficient and informative. I didn't expect to be able to actually get my picture for my passport card taken an application submitted today, but once she realized I had brought proper documentation, Becky let me know I had time to fill out the papers and get it done before the 3pm cut off time. The process was quick and very organized. It was all women working as far as I could see and these ladies had it together! They had positive attitudes with all of the customers and with one another. They gave the impression that they enjoyed their jobs. I will definitely go back to this location when I need USPS services again.

I stopped by USPS to mail one package with a preprinted shipping label and another that required a…read moreQR code to generate the label. When I walked in, the self service kiosk had a pretty long line, but I was able to quickly drop my package into the package drop without any issues. What I didn't realize is that the retail counter stays open until 6 p.m., which ended up being really convenient. Instead of waiting in the kiosk line, I was able to go straight to a clerk, who scanned my QR code and got my package processed in just a couple of minutes. The entire process was quick, seamless, and the employee who helped me was friendly and efficient. It's always nice when a shipping trip is easier than expected. If you have a package that requires a QR code, it's worth checking if the counter is still open. It can save you quite a bit of time.

It took forever to receive a few packages. One arrived not completely sealed and missing an item…read more This package went everywhere back and forth before finally making it to me. Totally unacceptable! I filed a claim due to the package being insured. I was told to receive money I would have to return the package and the item received to USPS to keep. The item received cost more than the item lost so why would I give that to USPS? Total nonsense! Needless to say the insurance was USELESS! I was told, by a supervisor, there is a problem with theft in the bigger facilities. I 100% blame the Louisville KY USPS facility since this is where the problem started. I am out money for an item I will never receive!! USPS DO BETTER!!! HORRIBLE service and experience!! Would not recommend especially if packages have to go through Louisville KY!

Now coming from Nevada to new state, new rules. This state requires the "actual title," to be on file. My car belongs to USAA, and was registered in Las Vegas. Nevada uses a digital file system. It sits beautifully and gigantically on the middle of a roundabout with several shoppes and places to eat surrounding this. Even as a kid when visiting my old Kentucky home the thing I remembered most was the "big building that had a circle around it". Just makes it shout that it's important. Note city halls should do that. Defiantly hard to miss. From what I could gather this mainly serves as the welcoming center now but still has some branches of government work held here. The outside is beautiful with plenty of places to sit and a couple cool monuments to Bardstown heroes and famous alumni. Overall I still love driving by or around this building. Very cool site to see and I look how I can go inside it now that it's a visitors center. Cool piece of Kentucky history and architecture here.

Believe it or not, the website instructed that I should print and fill out a "form requisition" (which was online) and mail it in to get the other form. When I read that I had to look over my shoulder for a hidden camera. Since the deadline was approaching, rather than trust the timeliness of both the USPS and the Kentucky Revenue Service, I marched down to this office to see if they could hand me my needed document. Did they have my form on hand? Of course not. How would the bureaucracy feed itself if they did that? But a very kind worker bee gave me a post-it note and told me if I wrote my name and address on the form, she would make sure it got sent quickly. Sure enough, my desired form (the correct one!) arrived in two days flat. Efficiency in the midst of chaos! A gleam of competence in a sea of WTF! The little stuff does matter.

We visited this time the week before Christmas 2025 and were fortunate to catch it on a day when temperatures allowed us to linger more to take in all of the scenes. (As an appreciative observer, please be respectful of the neighbors' yards when parking, walking, and noise level. I'm sure they are understanding, but it's important to be thoughtful as a guest.)
