I called 911 immediately and they were there in less then 10 minutes and helped me get my daughter out immediately. she was thankfully completely fine because of how quick they were and offered her water. Previously, someone had told me there was a new law prohibiting vehicles from driving alongside semis, while in a roundabout. I was calling to ask if that was actually a law, to ensure that if a semi crosses over the lane (happens almost every day) and strikes my vehicle, that I would not be at fault. The dispatcher I spoke to kept giving audible and exaggerated sighs, and told me that I needed to call City Hall, not the police (incorrectly assuming that I called to complain about the roundabout). I'm not sure why the dispatcher would tell me that I should call someone other than law enforcement, to inquire about the current laws they enforce.

I got out to talk to him and he asked "are you guys ok?" And "what kind of help do you need?" Once he found out that we were already waiting for a tow truck he told me to stay in the car, get some AC,(it was 94° that day) relax the wife and kid, and stay safe. Instead of taking the information he decided not to take ownership and write himself a favorable report. Dispatch is an absolute joke and I had to offer them my location 4 different times to 2 different dispatchers. The second dispatcher wanted to argue and cancel my request. It took a third dispatcher to finally take down the correct location. It took 25 minutes to arrive. Defund these lazy folks.
