Me and my family spotted this mural by pure coincidence when driving around the Shelby park area and one of my daughter said "is that Patrick from spongebob". So naturally we had to pull over and take some photos. Overall very cool piece that will be enormously popular with the youth and probably even the millennials he grew up on the popular show spongebob. I know my kids loved it. It is a hand-carved, wooden Totoro totem, paying homage to Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki's 'My Neighbor Totoro!" I dare you to come check this out without singing in your head. It's a magical adventure for you... adventure for youuuuuuu. This is the kind of thing I love about Louisville. Random and charming and it's right off Bardstown Road--so in between shopping and eating, you can check it out! Oh, and there was also a hand-drawn picture of Totoro on the front door of this house. I didn't share it for privacy, but I love that a little kid was like, "Represent. We are the Totoro house!"

I recently visited here for my 3rd brown daughters first ever dance recital. Being the holiday season they was decorated to the fullest in cool holiday themes. Had a Santa and everything. The place was spacious and they had a nice stage area for the kiddos to perform on. Playground was very nice as I took the oldest two out to play a hot before the recital. I was telling my parents who were there to watch my daughter that this place looked familiar. They said "that's because we had family reunions here 25-30 years ago. So I guess this wasn't my first experience here. Overall very nice and quiet place that was a great host for my daughters dance team and they have a very nice playground as well.

An 18 hole golf course along with a pavilion, park and plenty of picnic tables in the shade. Inside the main building is 1 very large room with a hallway connecting 2 smaller rooms for activates. They said several activities take place here all thru the week. Zumba, sewing, kids summer camp, women of worth, stars, archery, twinkle toes, karate, tutoring that is free, indoor soccer, yoga, pickleball, silver sneakers, Tai Chi, forever fit, lots of different senior classes and lots of different card games. I know there are more things I've left out but even the workers said they offer soooooo much that they don't have everything on the Web site. Cool place......... Check it out because I'm sure something is here for you!!! I'm here for a car model contest so I'm convinced they have it all.

I went to the highlands Kroger and I stole not one but two of these horses. I was expecting to see either. Both of them were very lit up and pretty on display. Stopped by the Captain William Shannon Landmark while passing through town and ended up…read moreappreciating it more than I expected. It's a simple monument, but once you read into it, you realize how important William Shannon was to the founding of the area he actually donated land that helped establish Shelbyville back in the 1790s. The marker itself isn't anything flashy, so don't expect a big attraction or anything interactive. But if you enjoy local history, it's worth a quick stop. It gives you a real sense of how early settlements were formed and the role individuals played in shaping towns like this. I'd say it's a solid quick visit nothing you go out of your way for, but definitely a nice historical touch if you're already in the area.
