This post office is horrendous! I have been in here a few times since moving to Georgetown a year ago and the workers are super rude and grumpy no matter what time of day you visit. Crabby! I am currently out of town and have been trying to call them for 2 days and it is constantly busy! They must get to work and take the phone off the hook... This has happened on several occasions where the postman updates tracking to say package was delivered and placed inside my mailbox... Negative! Also... My mail lady comes anywhere from 1pm-9pm.. Sometimes not at all... I get it, I live a little on the outside of city limits but this is madness... Alls I want to know is what happened to my package... Worst Post Office i have ever been to. The employees treat you like trash! Went up to the counter and politely asked if they can help me tape the small box I was sending out (tape gun was sitting right there on the counter). The clerk made me spend $5 to BUY tape and also made me go sit down and do it. Mind you, I had just waited 35 minutes in line and had to go back in that line. Unbelievable. Another incident where I was charged $66 to mail a small package to England for my business. This was 2 weeks ago and now I have USPS England calling me telling me the package cannot be delivered because the POST OFFICE in Georgetown under-charged me on shipping cost. Incorrect tracking is worse than no tracking at all. Package was supposed to be here by 6pm Thursday. Thursday afternoon, I receive a tracking update that the carrier was unable to access my home and they'd try again the next day. We had a little bit of snow and there was no danger in walking from the curb to my door. I had salt out. But, whatever. If an employee of some bloated unaccountable bureaucracy can take the easy way out, they will. That's just life. The problem occurred when the next day I receive a tracking update that the package is available for pickup at the post office. I go to the post office, they go look for the package for 5 minutes, return and tell me that the carrier is out trying to deliver the package and they don't know why I got that message. If they don't know, who does? It's pointless to complain to the post office just as it's pointless to leave this review. Give Bezos another $100 billion and make him the postmaster general. Amazon runs circles around USPS, and they're drawing from the same labor force. Funny how you get better service from an organization with a profit motive! read more

Long line but that is totally expected for a post office. I miss my last post office where all the staff were so cheery and fun. This place is alas all business and dour faces. :( Usually when I buy a roll of stamps, I get to pick what kind of forever stamps I want. The woman just charged me for the stamps and then handed me a roll of Christmas Forever stamps (this was in February) without telling me first they ran out of other styles. Because she had already rung it up, I walked out of there grimacing with my ugly Christmas Forever stamps. Oh well - I needed the postage. They get the job done though. read more

Some people waiting in line are a tad bit ignorant of the fact that mailing a parcel one week before Christmas guarantees long lines. Was waiting on a VA prescription and then after 5 days checked tracking # and it said they tried to deliver it on the 8th but left a tracking card for redelivery, but I never got one. I've requested 2 redeliveries and never received it. Tracking info isn't updated online and VA never got it returned back to them. This place SUCKS in more ways than the text box will allow me to fill. Packages are routinely mis-delivered, missing all together or tampered with. I have spoke to the manager on one magical occasion who simply acted shocked that there was a problem. My neighborhood reports at least 2 to 3 missing packages a DAY.... They fail miserably at the one job they have...DELIVER THE FREAKING MAIL TO THE RIGHT ADDRESS. On top of that, you can never get a phone answered at the office. It simply rings till it hangs up. It's a post office. Expect long lines. One person working. Five people walking by at any time but not helping. Conflicting answers depending on who you ask what and when you ask... As far as post offices go this one isn't the worse. It tends to be somewhere between the annoyance of a paper cut and the aggravation of a barking dog at night. So all in all pretty average. I keep having trouble with my newer mailman, he gets extremely angry when a package won't fit in our mailbox. He then proceeds to throw the packages in his truck, angrily throws his door open, and then walks up to the end of my porch, and throws the packages at my door, doesn't even step foot on the porch. The carrier for Parkside @ Mayfield Ranch is an utter and complete moron that couldn't do her job correctly if her life depended on it! While some staff appear apathetic, I have found most to be quite friendly overall. I am moving from Georgetown so am happy to say I won't have to frequent this post office any longer. Scheduled a PRIORITY MAIL pickup through USPS. Paid much $$$ for the postage. Result: NOTHING. No pickup, constantly busy phone, and losing more than a day shipping time on an important package. If there was an option to give this office negative stars I would. Absolutely the worst! I've had terrible experiences before, so much so that I rarely try and use the post office. I had to get a passport so I went to the CVS and had my picture taken, and arrived at the post office with all documentation in hand. I made it up to the USPS employee who gave me a blank stare when I told him I wanted to submit my application for a passport. "You don't have an appointment", "he doesn't have an appointment";was echoed between him and a another USPS employee, as if the passive aggressive gesture would embarrass me out the door. I looked over my application and looked for the fine print; "I don't see where it says I have to make an appointment?" I asked. Then, obviously offended that I questioned their policy the second employee laid into me, and angrily stated "different establishments have different protocol on how they process passports". She then proceeded to tell me I would have to arrive at 7 a.m. the next day, only to schedule a time to come later on THAT SAME DAY so they could process my application! No where in the building, nor on the website does it state this: walk in hours are from 10:00 am-3:00 pm., that's it. She instead, advised that I drive to Austin and visit the UT campus to have my paperwork processed, and "they will take walk-ins" (with a smug look). So, after being refused services at this joke of a place I drove to UT and processed my application without incident. Yay, the post office. Only Walmart, or possibly Toys R Us at Christmas, can be more nightmarish than the post office. As with any post office I have ever stepped foot into, this one is staffed by the same miserable human beings that lurk behind the counter of every post office, scowling and being bitter about god knows what. The lines are long no matter when you come. The lobby with postal clerks seems way too small for this location and the line frequently goes beyond the doors. This post office gets 3 stars only because it has a 24 hour lobby and shipping center where you can avoid the bitter, scowling postal workers and mail packages yourself 24/7. There's a scale and postage machine so you can bypass those charming folks altogether, hurrah. There is also a large package drop box, so if you print postage at home you can just drop the package inside and avoid the Spanish Inquisition at the service counter about what's inside and whether you want 1,000 kinds of insurance and forms for it. Lots of PO Boxes available and those have 24/7 access too. read more

Full disclosure, I worked for this place. I can tell you first hand this place does not care about customer service. I've personally seen the Post Master (Dana) throw parcels over 20 feet into bins even tho they were marked fragile.
