Came for Passport Services not shopping/mailing…read more Arrived at 1pm as requested on my appointment (which is 15 minutes ahead of appt as requested). Walked in, excited (passport time! Yay!)-- was immediate snapped at and finger pointed back out the door to sign in on a clipboard. Whoops! Ok... no way of knowing that, but nbd. So I signed in and came back in to sit and wait. Was again snapped out to go wait outside. There weren't any seats and my leg is injured, so I asked if I could sit on the bench. I got a big, impatient NO! And was pointed back out the door. I was honestly very put off by my first impression, but once they called me in for my turn, I felt like they were very friendly and helpful. It turns out the inside is really sensitive area because of the info being processed-- so they don't want anyone waiting in there-- but there's really not any kind of signage clarifying that, so all day they are having to redirect people out of the room. That would be exhausting for anyone! So for anyone planning to visit-- don't let the awkwardness of the check in process throw you. Once they are helping you, they are quite friendly! Maybe just hearing that ahead of time will save someone else from getting upset.

It is just a neat place to mail items and it is usually not busy during the day except lunch and sometimes end of day. Pick up is stated to be 4pm so if you have something needed quicker then you should try another post office. In the lobby there is a small display case of photos of the post office from back in the day. Not a place to make a special trip, but if you are mailing something just look on the walls facing the counter.

The 1st worker at this location effortlessly walked me through the proper envelope I needed which was decided after she scanned my QR code. Her system was down for purchases(she charismatically explained she took a week off and now the system won't recognize her login) so she got the label ready for me and the next worker(Conner) continued my purchase again, effortlessly. They had a down system and I got better service here and was in and out quicker than the oracle location. Lol the lady packed the package for me to without me asking, wish I got her name but receipt said clerk 22, she rocks. That said everyone should be doing their best to come in the post office somewhat prepared, don't rely on the workers to do it all!

I've never been here with a wait less than 15 minutes, but I think that's fair of all post offices. At the time it was the closest Post Office to my house. Built in 1971 2 blocks south of Grant and 1 block east of Oracle (or Miracle Mile if you go all old school with it). It is a colorful place to say the least, when waiting in line I am usually accompanied by at least 1 hooker, a drunk, and some I cannot identify, this is one of the good things about the place at least I am somewhat entertained waiting in line. They have never lost my mail, but they are never happy to see me, every once in a while there is someone that is helpful, but most of the time it is just like a sitcom, I'm going on break, or whatever. I really can't blame them for not wanting to be there, it is depressing, from the for sale sign out in front to the blight inside. They don't really have an answer on what is going to happen to my P.O Box after they sale, but they are eager to lock me out of it 1 day late, and charging me 15 bucks to turn a key. I guess I will ride it out to the bitter end because I don't wanna go and find a new address.
