I came in for mailing a couple for the first time(recently moved to AZ). The first cashier Mike made us buy tape just to tape OUR OWN PREVIOUSLY PRINTED LABEL onto the box and made us wait in line and also laughed at us because we didn't tape the label on the box just yet, since we assumed he would have helped us... The second cashier clerk#14 was so kind to us. He even suggested for us to use a different box to save money as well as easy packaging. He had tape that we could use just to tape our label on the box. He did mention USPS does not provide tape for packaging but was able to use scotch tape to tape our printed label on the box. Not only was Mike rude by laughing at us, also disrespectful to us and also making us wait in line again without any help. Not a helpful cashier to us. Luckily the second cashier was helpful. This is my 2nd time here in the last few weeks, both times the employees were fast and friendly and super helpful! I wanted to send a "just because" surprise to my Dad in Wisconsin, so I grabbed a one size fits most box with one flat rate no matter how heavy or how much you crammed in the box. They assisted in the box formation, and even told me where to stick it...the label that is. She even directed me on how to track the package either via phone or internet. The package was delivered in the time span they gave and it put a smile on my Dad's face. This is probably the nicest post office I've ever been to. Well the building is really old, but how cool is that?! It's well maintained. But the staff are really friendly as well. I was actually surprised at how nice and helpful they are. And really helpful! They actually explain what's going on if there's ever a problem so everyone understands. read more

Paid on June 25th 2018 on Monday at the Tempe AZ post office location for a 2-3 day delivery of a small package going to Indiana. Was supposed to get to Indiana either Wednesday or Thursday same week. Today it's July 2nd, a FULL WEEK LATER and it's STILL NOT IN THE HAND OF THE RECIPIENT!! Called the Tempe location, was told no refund and only received a STORY as to why it didn't arrive when it was supposed to. They take your money for a service they promote then don't deliver, nor offer a refund of any sort!! BEWARE OF GETTING SCAMMED BY THIS FEDERAL POST OFFICE!!! read more

The poorest customer service and the one job they have they could not do. I sent out my HOA payment Sept 27th and come to learn yesterday, my association has not received my payment. I came in this morning to speak to a manager and see what had occurred and did not get past the rude employee. I explained to her the situation and just rolled her eyes, huffed and said, "well did you write the correct address?" Yes the address was correct, as I have sent payments to my HOA before... Then still with the worst attitude said that they send out all mail out of the facility and they should be getting the letter soon. First of all it's been 2 weeks and the address was for Mesa, that should of arrived a long time ago. Finally I asked if I could speak to a manager regarding the situation and she just shut me down and says we can do nothing and wouldn't get someone! At that point I was so frustrated I left because I was going to get anywhere with her. I will be opening a complaint/claim against them on the USPS site. read more

We lived i Tempe 24 years .This Post Office is top notch with Customer service. We moved to Fountain Hills area and to compare these P.O. 'S is impossible .Fountain Hills is getting better in ten years ago but it can't compare to our Tempe P.O. on Southern Ave. This review wasn't directed specifically to Southern's Mgt but a Delivery Carrier charged our friend $2.00's for a not too bulky envelope which contained a very small silk rose. Nice Valentine ! Now , I called a Manager who claimed the envelope could not be processed........Hmmm...I have sent Cd's and etc which can't be processed by machine. Wow! Hannah M. and I must have the same mail carrier and postal issues here in Tempe. Our mailboxes (two full panels of 40 boxes at least) at Onnix. apts. were left wide open Thursday night (31 August 2017) around 7:30 p.m. when I got there. When I finally got a hold of someone at the Southern Ave. location she was very pleasant but held true to the apathetic and non accountable nature of the USPS' "oversights" and self-described "training issues." I even had to Fauxbook the post office on their official USPS FB site last Thursday since no one picked up the phone Thursday night at the Southern Ave./College location. I was even told someone was there until 8:30 p.m. I understand that accidents happen but a blunder of this sort in inexcusable. They couldn't even create a file with my local address, but instead combined two addresses from two states. Unbelievable! One person's oversight has far reaching consequences but when management asked if the boxes were locked today (Tuesday, 5 September 2017), I had to wonder, how is this really helpful? I'm glad the supervisor checked in the back of the station for my mail but this is a passport/s.s. # and missing check issue. Gee, the supervisor asking the employees if she remembers anything from last Thursday (like perhaps locking the boxes) is like asking if it's hot in Phoenix during the summer. More pointless lines of questioning from the USPS. And, this carrier was described as a long-time employee doing the mail deliveries for this area. Not the first complaints in Tempe-the north side of Phoenix NEVER had these issues. Drug test, Tempe. Please! People still depend on the basics! Identity and money theft are major federal issues. Perhaps this employee could participate in her own job accountability one day! Miracles do happen! read more

Very upset with this location! I have lived in appartments for years and I don't understand why i have had such a hard time recieving packaged from USPS to my complex in this area. One of the times I got a packaged delivered, the delivery person left a sticky note on my neighbors door instead of mine. Now what set me off this time is that, who ever delivered my most recent package, felt that it was okay to leave it at my front door. In the past I've always had them drop it off at the appartment complex. I've spent two days trying to find my package through my appartment complex and the the post office. My appartment complex said USPS has been dropping off packages at the doors, and the post office swears it got dropped at my complex office. In other words, my package was stolen because it was left outside my door. My appartment complex is pretty good on tracking people picking up packages and they had no records of my packaged being there at all. When I went to the post office to ask about my package, two people just gave me a look like I'm stupid and pretty much let me know they couldn't do anything about it. I know I'm not the only one who this has happened to in my complex. STOP LEAVING PACKAGES AT THE DOORS!!! I don't usually have a problem here. Until recently, they were open until 5:30. But I checked online to make sure it was open. It as after 5:00. I did not see hours posted, but it had a sign that said, "open now" so I went, and they were closed! I went up to the door and knocked. There were several workers still at their stations. They were speaking to each other and ignored me. I came home and the internet still had that the post office was open. It just changed to closed a few minutes ago (it's after 6:00 now). I had to ask a neighbor for a ride there, and had to get something in the mail today. So, this was not a good experience. Someone should put the correct closed time on the internet! read more
