Unpleasant experience when I used this location, and I'd recommend others to find a different location where the employees appreciate that they have a job. My package has been awaiting being forwarded to me since 7/22- it is now 8/25. I moved 10 miles away. Now my package is showing that it's in Wyoming.... I called a few days ago and spoke with someone who had no clue what was going on. Then I got an email about my package "updating" me to say it had been forwarded on 7/22... wow thanks!! That is literally the reason I called but I appreciate that you wasted over 2 hours of my time to tell me that! I've called over a dozen times today trying to reach someone and no one ever picks up. I wish I could just cancel this order... I am at the point where I avoid buying from merchants that ship with USPS because they are so unreliable and unhelpful. The staff today was extremely rude and racist. My son went in to check his box he tried to ask a question they said we are closed 2 staff members said this. Even the custodian. Then he sent his white/hispanic girl in a few minutes after him because he saw that they were allowing people in to check their boxes. She was told come in take all the time you need. So she asked for those staff members name they refused. My son goes back in and ask for the names of those staff members and why did they tell him it was closed. They said they don't know even though the one saying he doesn't know. Was one of the people who said they were closed. My son is not Loud he is not disrespectful. He is not a criminal. He is a human being and he should be treated as such. He was very hurt by this situation. This is unacceptable. Both staff members were Hispanic. I wish no stars was an option. I just needed to drop off a few books and laptop to be sent back home. All of my experiences with other post offices have been quite pleasant. I walk in, show what I am sending, they throw it in a box, I pay for it, and leave. The man with an Indian accent that was working the front today was very rude, and not helpful at all. I don't work at a post office, I don't know which boxes are which, how to "properly and neatly tape" (and the tape is not free mind you). A 3 minute interaction turned into 30 minutes. I had to get out of line, figure out which boxes I could use, find the right length of tape which of course, was too short so I had to buy more tape. And then wait in line again only to be told my taping wasn't "quite right". Well if you know the standards, why aren't you guys doing it? I don't show up to a house and make the customers put their own outlets in. What are these people being paid to do exactly? Whatever it is, it's too much. I use the US Post Office services frequently for business and personal use. I used this location today to mail out packages. This location was clean and had great parking. The employees there were friendly and welcoming. I went in the afternoon and was in and out without any waiting in line. I highly recommend coming here for your mailing needs read more

if I could leave no stars I would, quite possibly the actual worst, send your packages through private mailing services if you want them to get where you need them to. This is the second time they turn around one of my packages and send it back to the seller for a supposedly "incomplete adress" when I know very well the package addressed to me has the full adress front and back. So much for public mail service, the real kicker is that this is the second time the seller has had to send the same package to me and once again here we are. Terrible customer service!!! I printed my shipping label but didn't tape it to the package because I figured they would scan mine and print A stickable label. They won't provide tape or a stickable label. They want you to get out of the very long line to go buy their tape then tape the label down and get back in line. She set her cash up and asked for the next customer, me. July 1, 2022, the USPS changed the last digit of my zip code in my area, due to increasing population expansion, and city growth. Ever since, I haven't received my daily Informed Delivery emails telling me what's coming in my daily mail. I reached out twice, through the USPS app, to chat with an informed delivery rep. Both times, they said there must be an issue with the processing equipment, and thank you for letting them know. After a week, I expected this to be fixed. Chatting again, (second time), they suggest I contact my local substation directly. I did and they are closed. At 12:00 on a Saturday. All the Tempe branches are closed, but Scottsdale is open! But I live in Tempe. Today is an excessive heat advisory, but I don't understand why my local substation is closed. read more

After trying the useless Scottsdale location, this proved to be even worse & more of a disappointment. I'm now convinced USPS has decided it no longer needs to serve the public's needs. I needed to use the self-service kiosk to simply print my shipping label & drop my package. Couldn't do that here. In fact, half of the maze of an interior is defunct. They have a lovely "gift shop" area that is gated off after hours. But, there is no kiosk to purchase or print from. The area to weigh packages is empty- the scales removed & left looking like a junk counter space. You really can't do anything at this location besides check a private box or purchase gift options from the desk area during normal business hours. It was also alarming the gate to all the trucks & sorting facility portion of the building was left gaping open at 8pm on a Saturday in an area that is a little bit sketchy. If you need to do anything aside from check a private box- this isn't a good option. And, it's extremely outdated/unkept. read more

Made an appointment to get a passport, the appointment time said 11:15-11:30. No where in the confirmation email did it say to arrive 15mins early nor did it say what to bring. I was at the post office by 11:20, would have been there sooner but i forgot my birth certificate at home. the guy was so rude and said "you shouldve been here 15mins early" and literally made me show him the email where it didnt state that at all. then he said "well we still cant take you" even though there was no one else waiting for passports and I was still there during my allotted time frame. I characterize the post office in the very same way. At the United States Post Office, you will see people from all walks of life, people who look like they just rolled out of bed, well-to-do people who are upset to be waiting in line, disinterested people behind the registers, old parents with their young children, old children with their older parents, the spectrum knows no bounds. Like the DMV (or the MVD in Arizona, for we Arizonans distinguish ourselves), the post office demands a wait. Even if there is nobody in line, you will wait. Why? Who knows. Who cares? There were signs encouraging visitors to social distance, but of course, nobody did. Not at the post office. We were all like masked sardines abiding by the Law of the Red Light: "Edge thine vehicle just a little bit forward, and the green light will surely cometh." We thusly shuffled about, reflecting upon all the other things we could be doing with our time. How long were we there? It could have been fifteen minutes or an hour. It could have been our entire lifetime, actually. We may never know. My fiancé and I appeared at the front of the line at last, and after a bit of banter, we released our outgoing materials for a small fee. Then we left. Or did we? Perhaps we're still there. I always come here to ship my packages and I always have a prepaid label. Every single time I've been here, the staff has been very helpful. There's a middle-aged (maybe older idk) white male who works there and he's my favorite. He tapes my label for me and always asks if I need anything else. I went in last week and the service from him was the same. Taped my label, asked if I needed anything else. I go in today, literally a week later, and some older lady tells me oh you need to go buy tape we don't do that. I said since when? "Two months ago" Lol I was just there last week and your coworker taped my label down for me. Which took him 10 seconds. I don't have an issue paying for tape had I known the "new rules." If you're going to impose new rules, be consistent about it. Also, don't try to say it was imposed 2 months ago when I was there a few days ago. read more

Once upon a time I wrote a Yelp about wanting to get the F outta dodge and using Arizona Vital Records to acquire my birth certificate. At the time, it was really just a grandiose idea and I really just wanted a passport because I thought it would make me seem cool. Let me tell you a little something about Nachos (nutshell: law of attraction) my friends: Anything you want, you can have. I was lucky enough to study the art of Nachos under its founder, Dallas G. and I think I have mastered this art. Case in point... Not even two weeks after receiving my birth certificate in the mail, my company gets notification that we won an incredibly prestigious awards and the prize is a trip to The Cayman Islands and I am jet setting in three weeks. (feel free to congratulate me) After about fifteen minutes of crazy jumping, squealing, and screaming, I realize, "Oh shit, I don't have a passport!!" So I research like a madwoman and call around to seven different places trying to find a place to submit my expedited app and low-and-behold, this lovely post office is the only place in the greater Phoenix area that has an appointment within the next two weeks. This story is growing long and boring, so I will jump to the point... they got me and my sister in next day, got our pictures taken, our passport applications expedited and did so with a completely unfamiliar air of friendliness you don't find very often with the good 'ol USPS. The postal line was quick, the dude who helped us made a very funny joke about his co-worker needing to stay in for lunch so she didn't melt in the rain, and I get my passport within the 3 week deadline I have! I raced for the 5 o'clock cutoff to mail some pieces for work and she was the sweetest. She warned me that rates were going up on stamps and encouraged me to dupe the system [wut] and get some Forever stamps before ...we picked out some cute floral perennials together *philatelists unite*. Also this Post Office is in the middle of the hood in Tempe, so these aren't your average suburban Tempe civil servants...they have to deal with douchey ASU students and meth heads all day. read more

This is also the post office that delivers my mail and I've had a couple of issues with mail not getting delivered that were related to the sender, not the post office. I was very disheartened at the lack of customer service that this USPS location was able to provide. I tried contacting the phone number & was unable to get any communication to the store for 2 hours & 30 minutes. The manager was quick to shield any responsibility or empathy in regards to my situation. I simple explanation goes a long way. As a customer & someone who pays taxes. This post office has the most self-righteous, rude, stupid, distasteful "female" working there. She was working June 16 at 12:30 p.m. Simply trying to mail a box of letters that I'd spent $50 postage on already and she tells me they all need another 44-cent stamp because they're not "flats". They have ONE TINY BUMP in them from a piece of paper that's in each envelope. It fits through their stupid little tester, but you have to give it one little tap. I told her "Look the go right through!" and she replies "They have to go through unassisted". Please. The post office is a complete joke. No wonder they're going broke. I will use email, UPS or even the Pony Express rather than go into this place again. Worst customer service ever. So keep it up USPS! Clean, cool, well stocked, friendly and polite staff. I don't know if there is anything more to ask for in a post office. I usually go early in the morning (9am to about 11am) or in the evening (7pm). I have noticed so early morning rushes, but one of the postal workers always opens a second or third register to help with the flow, although it might take a while. I wish they were open at 8, so I could just walk over before the day gets too hot, but there is a decent sized parking lot for the times you just half to drive. I did not inquire about PO boxes, but they have a ton of space and I'm sure the rates are reasonable. read more

A lot of these Elite members are giving this post office high ratings, but I need to jump in and speak my mind about this place. I live 1 block away from here so I'm here very often (2-3 times a month). Maybe I only catch these guys on bad days, but they look like they just really don't want to be there. I mean act a bit enthused for goodness sake, it'll help your day go by. I usually know where to go inside depending on what I need to accomplish and what day/time it is, but there is always one person who goes to the package pickup window without reading the sign and starts ringing the service bell. Don't get caught doing this. So apparently you can only go to this window during certain times on certain days, and for you to skip past this tiny, tiny sign and ring the bell anyways is like a capital offense to them. They will humiliate you in front of everyone and treat you like a toddler, i.e. "What does that sign say? Can you read that sign for me? Okay so what does that mean? Okay so where are you going to go now?". I always find this to be a very crass reaction, especially to ESL folks who frequent this place. People go to the post office only if they need to, it's like the DMV. As a post office employee, don't assume that just because you put a dinky little sign up, your workflow should be blatantly obvious. People want to get in, then they want to get out, so just get off your postal high horse and help people without the attitude. Sometimes I pay the premium to just go through UPS Store for better customer service. read more

Have been here multiple times, and they are usually pretty nice. Came in to get my passport renewed and I didn't know I needed to make appointment. The lady let me know and then proceeded to roll her eyes, very rude! So I came back in on my appointment day, the lady asked me what I was here for and then made me wait while she got other customers. I have an appointment and there is someone else there to help customers and it's not even busy! All in all it's usps, what do u expect, it's not going to get better. read more
