I have to come here to mail boxes regularly. I'm really glad they have over the counter hours. My life is going to be a mess if that ever changes. I never know how much postage to put on my mail and I still have pen pals all over the place to send snail mail to, and I don't want that to change. I will be back soon to mail more. I've had endless grief dealing with the people running this office. I was told there was strange issue in setting up a new address, and the person who was dealing with the issue, Josh, the manager, has repeatedly lied to me and his staff about handling the problem. I spent over a month calling and visiting this location to meet with him (after being told he would meet with me) only to be turned away because Josh "just stepped out", or "he just entered a meeting", or "something just came up" or any other similar excuse. I've seen Josh tell his employees to lie to me about him not being in his office while sitting at his desk. I have major medical issues and had some very important pieces of mail coming in which, because of Josh's laziness and refusal to help (and constant lying) I never received. Josh eventually passed the issue to another person named Carter who was equally incompetent and rude and very very slow to get back to me and ultimately didn't help at all. These people took months and months (again with me visiting constantly with an urgent, severe medical issue) and never gave me updates or provided a solution to what turned out to be an easy to solve issue. I won't name the person who took care of it because I don't want their name associated with a 1-star review. I consider Josh and Carter to be borderline discriminatory based on ADA protections and I hope they're reprimanded for the endless grief and time wasted and for prolonged assistance with a major medical issue. While I know times are crazy and businesses are short staffed, EVERY package I have ever had "delivered" since moving to my new place one year ago has required me to pick up the package in person. This includes very small items that could have easily been delivered directly to my mailbox, required no signature, and were less than 10 pounds. Do not have anything delivered and expect it to be on time. Even after selecting redelivery I have had to go in to receive my package with a minimum wait of 30 minutes on slow days. I have waited over an hour during less busy hours. Please note, I work from home and have never even seen anyone attempt to deliver a package. This place is horrible. I went in early afternoon on a Thursday. Needed to just pick up a package with a notice form I had in my mailbox. There's a separate line to wait in for picking up. I waited for over 30 minutes and not one of the several employees working looked at me or acknowledged my presence. When I first arrived, the main line had 1 person being helped and I saw 4 employees working in the front. I wasted my lunch break just to stand in line where I wasn't even acknowledged and I completely missed my package. The employees are rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and don't understand common decency and how to work in an establishment. I don't mind waiting when I see it's busy, backed up, lack of employees, etc, but this was unbelievable. This place is awful and now because of my schedule, I have no time to even pick up my package which is why it's getting returned to sender. read more

Welcome to the worst post office on the planet. I have lived at my address for over 25 years for about 15 years the mail was delivered like clockwork every day at about 11am. not anymore. now my mail (if it gets delivered at all) can be delivered anytime from 3 in the afternoon to 8pm. This place makes sure that I get ads, scams, and junk mail but my packages that I actually want are late, get delivered to my neighbors, or sometimes to a house 2 or 3 streets over. there is no reason for this since every package I have gotten are clearly marked with my address. carries walk the neighborhood talking or playing on their cell phones, listening to music, and ignore things left on the mailbox to be picked up. I have the phone number for this post office but the phone can ring for 15 minutes before someone answers. service and wait time are extremely long when you go there. all self service devices were removed from the lobby years ago because druggies vandalized them. read more

The mail delivery service from this post office is regrettable. Packages sit 3-4 days at each of the Phoenix distribution points before any movement, then finally arriving at the 40th St and Thomas Post Office. My most recent package arrived at this branch yesterday at about 12:30pm, July 15th. For some unknown reason, it wasn't delivered with my mail on July 16th. Unfortunately, the way customer service is set up, its also frustrating not to be able to easily reach someone to get help. read more

Very slow-moving line and icky atmosphere. Other customers were very obviously annoyed and were complaining about the line. Once I got to the counter, the service was quick enough. I asked the cashier for a small piece of packing tape to seal the package I was mailing, and he informed me that they are not allowed to give out packing tape to customers. Since I was unaware of the policy, he said he'd help me out this one time, which was cool of him. However, it seems like such a strange policy for a post office to have. Perhaps this is a universal policy for all post offices... but either way, it was news to me. I'll return here only because it is the closest location to me, but it's by no means the best. read more

Giving it 3 stars simply because I didn't attempt going in person which may have resulted in a better experience. I have been calling the office simply to be told by a recording that "The offices are currently closed.. our hours are Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm" then proceeds to hang up. I've only called during that window, but ironic the office is "closed" during open hours. Tried calling the corporate customer service number and it's impossible to speak to representative. It's the USPS so reviewing it seems sort of silly. I am not sure if the Modern Post Office invented ineptitude but they have certainly mastered it! I have been using the PO Box services and counter services at this location for about 10 years and it has been a mixture of pain, convenience, mosey, and frustration. We are finally in the process of moving our mail to a Private vendor of mail box services. While it will still require the use of the antiquated USPS to my mail I will hopefully never have to endure the agony of dealing with this particular station again. They will periodically "close" my PO Box when they meant to close an adjacent one and return all my mail. Disrupting my business and personal mail for months at a time. While some Postmasters have listened and credited me years of free box service most essentially just say something to the effect of: "we are the post office and we don't care" I personally have worked to make sure that everything I possibly can is delivered to me electronically, some things still come through the mail. It is not uncommon for me to get mail that was addressed and stamped 9-12 months before I o actually get it. Car registration? Yep, they lost that. On a larger scale I hope that we end the painful subsidy that is the USPS but until then I am going to try and take this station out of my life and look for service elsewhere. Literally the worst post office I have ever been to in my life. There is no package drop off box - you have to stand in line to hand them your packages. I have never seen such a thing. Also no self serve kiosk. I can't even comprehend. Absolutely ridiculous. I purchase labels online and I have to stand in line to drop them off? What's the point? I don't understand why it's so hard to just answer the phone and answer quick questions regarding my package that I am unable to check online for. You'd think they would put more focus on this given Covid and safety but it's worse than ever. I dropped off my pre paid packages from my marketplace sales and they didn't scan the packages. This is what tells the buyers it has shipped out and then I get paid, now there all reported as never shipped and to refund the buyer. This is one rockin' spot! Wham, bam, kaching the line is crunched out. Service is great in the main area. (I'm not such a fan when picking up vaca mail. That window doesn't seem to be monitored much, so I just have my holiday mail mailed to me. Take that Uncle Sam ;) There is a new guy the crew is breaking in named C/Karl. Hoh My Funny. He's a character straight out of a stoner movie. Except (obviously) he's not stoned [here]. He's just dressed for the part and FUNNY as anything. I'd like to buy this guy a drink funny. Rather, it would be laughable if I wasn't losing my packages seemingly every week. Their response... Someone must have stolen it. Really? I receive packages from every other service and you guys' are the only ones that get stolen? How about some accountability! The personnel were friendly and polite. However I feel like I need an instruction manual as to line protocol. I needed to mail some t-shirts for a proect. The project said use the post office and their box. I went to the post office, found a box, waited in line and was told even though I was buying theri box, they had no tape I could use. After waiting in line for 30 minutes while at least 3 employees watched the line and walked around, I would have to buy tape and wait in line again. I went to UPS-no problems and they have tape. Must be nice to get paid for messing around all day and not doing the job you are paid for. Also a mail carrier name Shane had the nerve to call my daughter the B word while he was working. this post office almost always has a line and usually only two employees working at the windows/counters. Never see a manager walk out to see whats going on and try to help expedite the service. I recently sent an priority international package to Germany two days later it arrives at my home in PHX. I go back to the post office, stand in line and the clerk was very helpful but could not explain why it came back to me despite the address and customs paperwork being correct. now exactly 23 days since i dropped it there the tracking says it arrived in Atlanta, presumably for a flight to Germany. But 23 days to get from PHX to ATL? Ridiculous and there is no way to comment to the USPS on their website. read more

My first walk experience was today. I usually add mail in the the box and run. This time I had to pay them a visit. This location was fully stocked with express mail surprise. Something I am not use to seeing at all post office. The line walking in was a little overwhelming during the lunch hour, however with three people handling the line they did a very good job in getting everyone in and out in a timely manner. The postal staff that mailed my postage was friendly. She verified my mailing information to make sure it went to the right destination. Along with double checking to make sure I did not mail anything hazardous or needed extra insurance. Then she asked me if I needed stamps. I was provided a receipt with tracking and out the door. Plenty of parking at this location. I have no complaints. read more

The people that work in this post office are the reason people use the U.S. mail less and less. The customer service here is horrible, the staff is rude and in general lazy. I have been here multiple times but my visit on 1/29/15 was by far some of the worst acts of customers service I have seen in my entire life... First off...this place is only open till 4:30pm. Not 5pm...4:30pm....so if you think your going to get there after a typical work day you are sadly mistaken. I pulled in right at 4:30, I went to go in, there were still people inside, and the door was open, immediately I had 3 representatives yelling "We're closed, you need to leave!" Now bare in mind two out of these 3 people had customers in front of them. At that time a women comes up to me and says, "I am 87 years old, I was driven all the way from Mesa to pick up a check that is here waiting for me, I had to find a ride, I need the money real bad to pay my bills, I don't know when I can come back and they said that because I got here after 4:30 they could not help me!" I looked at my watch 4:37. So she must have walked in here like a minute after 4:30 because I walked in an had literally been in here about a total of about 2 minutes from the time I parked. She was practically in tears. I told her I thought it was ridiculous, I turned and walked out. What could I do? The people here all need to be reprimanded, the Asian guy is the worst. The guy barely speaks English, how the hell did he get a job working for the U.S. government. And he never wants to do anything, I had bought some postage online and wanted a receipt for it saying they were processed, and he told me he couldn't do it, I had to get a supervisor just for a receipt...Hello. I made a transaction here...I want a record of it. Most the time I have been here they are really understaffed and service is slow, even when it is empty. This place is a joke. Everyone here should be laid off, fired or retired. For the amount of money these people get paid to basically push buttons, and sell stamps, the retirement they have being government employees and to treat the people that come here like second class citizen is truly unacceptable. Yes, do not bother calling as you never get through and my 1 star is generous one, as I would give 0 if I could! This is the main post office for our Arcadia area. The person that delivers mail to us, is never consistent. Especially when I am expecting an important package or check in the mail....mail either does not get delivered or it is delivered very late in the day! Especially before a long weekend. Ridiculous!!!
