Don't waste your time here. Go to a different post office. Everyone is rude and obnoxious and unwilling to help.

The location doesn't have an automatic postage machine and the lines are typically long. Do not recommend.

Horrible customer service! Lazy lazy workers. They don't deserve a star and looking at all their bad reviews they need new employees

I never know how much postage to put on my mail and I still have pen pals all over the place to send snail mail to, and I don't want that to change.

There's a little gas station that's closer to me, but the USPS drop off inside didn't have the small priority boxes. This is a pretty large post office. There are tons of P.O. boxes. They did have self-service machine where you can handle most transactions yourself, but I was disappointed that the send package option was not currently working. That's pretty much the only reason I dropped a star. Rich seemed to be the only employee working the counter at the time, but he was quick and got us out in no time. There were 5 of us in line. When it was my turn, he asked the usual questions about the box I was mailing (any liquids perishables, etc.) and then asked if I wanted to purchase a book of stamps. I politely declined but was curious to know how much a single stamp is nowadays (I haven't sent snail mail in a loooooong time)!! He said the current rate is $.78 per stamp and that there's talk about the price hiking up to ninety-something cents in the future. Yikes!!! I remember when they were a quarter each!! My, how times have changed... Anyway, I'd definitely return to this Scottsdale location. There's a good size parking lot outside although I can imagine it getting packed during the holidays. 4 solid stars!

They have lost any fidelity to the Postal Creed. They encourage you to spend more to track your mail. But, while it may get delivered, where and to whom is it delivered to? Yup, no printed name, no date, not even who the person is receiving the letter. Thank you Louis DeJoy for sucking so bad it hurts America.

The reason I am giving this 5 stars is for the customer service. The gal behind the USPS counter was not only helpful, she was extremely friendly. She treated each customer as if they were a personal acquaintance. She was extremely knowledgeable on all the options I asked about and recommended the best option for my request. To boot, it wasn't the most expensive option. The store is clearly marked and meets COVID standards. Regardless if there is a location closer to me, I will definitely be returning to this store in the future. They also have lots of greeting cards and unique, interesting gifts. I do apologize for not having the 5 star service employee's name and not certain what day of the week I went in. It was August 18, 2020 around 3pm. Super friendly and deserving of props. When I go back I look to get her name and update this review. Thank you for be a ray of sunshine during this time when it is difficult to even see a smile. Enjoy y'all!

I will review both at the same time along with the surrounding area. First, U.S. Post Office itself also known as the "Federal Building-U.S. Post Office" was built in the 1930s and was intentionally designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. I find all of the staff who have helped me at the post office portion of the building on the first floor have been very friendly and helpful though there is often a queue during the day. The line usually goes fast, and the post office area is kept rather clean. When Arizona State University opened the Downtown Phoenix Campus in 2006, ASU took over the upper floor, basement level, and part of the first floor. ASU has the Student Center @ the Post Office on the first floor and then additional offices and conference rooms on all three levels. I have spent a lot of time on the upper floor where the Dean of Students office is as well as offices for Counseling Services, Student Connection & Community, Student Accessibility & Inclusive Learning Services, TRIO programs, ASU Police, Human Resources, and Career Services. On the first floor is the Student Center @ the Post Office (including the Undergraduate Student Government offices for and Changemaker Central) along with Facilities Management. On the basement is a space for ASU clubs and organizations, the Program & Activities Board offices, classrooms, and additional ASU academic services and offices. While the building is open from 8 AM to 9 PM on weekdays when classes are in session and 8 AM to 5 PM during breaks including the Summer. ASU offices are closed during weekends and university holidays. The only negative to the U.S. Post Office building is the challenge with security as there seem to have been a number of situations nearby right outside the north side of the building or even in the Civic Space Park on the south side of the building. Otherwise, the safety within the building is just fine, and the students, faculty, and staff at ASU still frequent the building. With a long history already between the post office itself and now ASU being there, I look forward to seeing what comes up next in the historic building!

Giving love to the post office? What?…read more You would if you went here as often as I do. My first need for the good ol' USPS arose when I was an undergrad thousands of miles from home. I stood in line frequently between the hours of 9 and 5 to mail letters and packages to those people Far Far Away who would send me the same, as I was in what seemed to be The Middle Of Nowhere. And since then, having lived and traveled extensively abroad, and having as many connections internationally as domestically, I have a great need for the USPS. And have patronized heaps of offices since my little 18-year old self started making my weekly homage... I have been to post offices where the clerks flog you for not knowing how to prepare a package according to Official Guidelines. I have been to offices where there are seas of unhappy customers battling heat and their patience as they wait in line - with only one employee behind the counter. I have seen postal workers who couldn't care less about your dilemma or crisis - you simply are another annoyance in their day. And I have been to many wonderful places where the clerks smile, care, joke, help, and make what nearly always is a significant wait bearable. These are my ladies at Mill. There's an older brunette woman with an easy smile who last helped wrangle a package of mine into acceptable measurements. There's another older woman - with salt and pepper hair - who kindly told me that my international packages would be cheaper if I used their new standard Global Priority mailers. I could carry on about other mundane postal dealings, but my point here is that these clerks are some of the best out there in an environment that can be very tedious. It's the post office, for crying out loud. There will almost always be a wait. There is little variety in what to expect. And the process is very routine. But my ladies at Mill always have me leaving with a smile because, it seems, they make an effort.

One of the employees actually came out into the waiting area and queried those in line personally about whether they were merely picking up or dropping off a package that already had postage, instructing them to report to the far left window. At the far right was a newer employee who is extremely tall and muscular and friendly. As each customer left his window, he apologized for the wait, as there was a long line. But he works very fast, so the wait is not because of him. The female at the far left pickup window was a little strange. She had a big head bandana and crazy eyes. She had no one at her window and wasn't doing anything, nor was she announcing to newly arrived customers that if they only had a pickup or drop off they could come to her window -- other employees seemed to take on that "heavy mantle" FOR her. She only gave confrontational stares to customers in line, like she wanted to jump over the counter and fight with them for looking at her (probably wondering what her job was). The other employees were working a little slower, but not as slow as PAST longtime employees used to (maybe they finally retired). There used to be a middle aged lady with short spiky hair that worked so slow it was almost impossible to tell if she was moving. Just watching her made me feel like I was going into a coma. Maybe she is finally gone. SHE is the one who always SHOULD have apologized for the wait... Dare I say things are improving slightly over there. At least they had 4 active windows going. I'm curious as to what accounts for their sudden new motivation to actually do the jobs for which they are being handsomely paid... It is in a convenient location with good parking access IF you are going northbound on 7th Avenue. Otherwise you are pretty much SOL.

They'll make fun of you in the back, and wait forever to hopefully make you go away. There is no enticement for anyone to do extra work for customers, and pride is all but ignored here. Just go to another place, pull your poboxes (where mail is stolen from, I have seen it), and don't give them your service.
