Trying to figure out how to get everything there was challenging, and we used college boxes despite the multiple negative reviews. We had success with it and I thought a more detailed evaluation would be helpful to other parents. The irritating thing is that there is no price transparency. It costs about $50 for a starter kit of 5 very good size boxes, but you don't know the shipping cost until you print the labels for the boxes, and it is quite pricey. On average it is $85 per box. They state on the website that the shipping is free, however they are charging you for storing and then delivering the boxes. The second hidden issue is that each college has one delivery date, and that is the only date included in the cost listed above. One of our daughters date was her move in day, so it was not problem. Her boxes actually arrived and were delivered in her dorm room 3 days before she moved in which was excellent. We just walked in and started upacking. My other daughter's date was 2 days after she moved in. You can pay an additional fee, around $200, to get it delivered on a different date. Also her college does not allow delivery to the dorm room unless the student is there to receive the boxes, and only on move in day. You can get this information on their website by entering the college name and it gives you the delivery date. However, despite these things, all their boxes were picked up on time at our home and delivered on time to their dorm rooms. It saved us an incredible amount of time. We ordered what they needed to our home, boxed it up and had it shipped. We did not have to deal with registries at places like bed, bath and beyond and then have to pick items up in a different stated. We also didn't have to deal with shipping boxes ourselves and then picking them up at the college mail room (lines out the door) in 95 degree heat and then cart them physically over the the dorm. So for us the service worked, was very convenient and I would use it again. You just need to know what you are getting into with the prices - it's not cheap.

If I could do less than 1star I would…read more. This location is ridiculous. I drove 25 min because my managers package got held here, I took my ID and proof of address. I waited in line for an hour just to be told since I don't have an ID with the name of the recipient It could not be released to me. However, their policy states to have and/or address, which I had proof of address. He suggested being sent a photo of the recipients ID. After being sent the photo via my manager, I then waited in line again for another 30 min. Just to get told by the manager ( a horizontally challenged Mexican woman ) this wont work, i calmly showed her the documents i had, with the proof of address and highlighted how this is in conjunction with Fedex and store policy. She still refused saying " since you don't have a physical id with your managers name on it I cant release it to you" I explained the situation, he is out of town, the package is scheduled to go back tomorrow, and a reshipment or me picking it up is what would work, pragmatically I asked "what options do we have for the package to be released" , she replied "you have zero options". She had Zero interest in helping. Now my $600 power cables are being returned to an Ebay center because fedex does not know how to hire competent employees.

I'm going to print your receipt and finish the rest after you're done." Mind you, scanning each package takes me about 5-10 seconds, so instead of just being a little patient, I felt rushed. I literally told the associate that I was almost done, which he could clearly see by me only having 4 packages left to scan at that moment. Normally this Staples has such friendly and kind staff. Someone always says welcome and goodbye, which is why I come to this location. However, what that associate did was extremely unprofessional. Not only did he make me feel like what I was doing wasn't important enough to finish within the next minute, but saying something like that makes the 1 other person who was in line feel like I don't care that they're next in line. Imagine going to a restaurant and the server says you're taking too long to order so they're going to cash you out and then come back later when you decide what you want to eat. Take a deep breath and relax dude.
