Poor customer service; post office clerk decided that there wasn't enough time to help me ship my international package before closing.

Ever since, I haven't received my daily Informed Delivery emails telling me what's coming in my daily mail. I reached out twice, through the USPS app, to chat with an informed delivery rep. Both times, they said there must be an issue with the processing equipment, and thank you for letting them know. After a week, I expected this to be fixed. Chatting again, (second time), they suggest I contact my local substation directly. I did and they are closed. At 12:00 on a Saturday. All the Tempe branches are closed, but Scottsdale is open! But I live in Tempe. Today is an excessive heat advisory, but I don't understand why my local substation is closed.

The current staff I've dealt with have been unhelpful, dismissive, and seem completely uninterested in actually resolving customer issues. When customers take the time to reach out for help, the least we should expect is professionalism, communication, and a genuine effort to find a solution. Instead, I've experienced frustration, poor communication, and an overall attitude that makes it seem like customers are an inconvenience. USPS needs to seriously address the quality of its customer service and the way customers are being treated. After dealing with this experience, I have very little confidence that my concerns are being taken seriously. Very disappointing and absolutely not the level of service a major organization should be providing.

There were more than 5 people ahead of me and 2 people working at the counter when I arrived, but the line moved very quickly. I was in and out in 5 minutes. USPS offers their flat rate shipping boxes but sometimes, depending on where you're sending a package, it's cheaper to send your package in your own box. I needed to send a small box to Idaho, and it only cost $13. I also picked up some super cool SpongeBob stamps. A really good experience!

I'm just... Absolutely appalled…read more I recently moved, and changed my address with USPS. I did all the things, updated my address everywhere, but I haven't been receiving mail. I thought, okay, maybe it's just the transition from one place to the other. It's been nearly a month now, and I've not received mail. So finally, I order a package and it's supposed to be delivered through USPS. I'm excited, I've been waiting for this as the final step in my new home. Today, I received an email that my package had been returned to the sender, as the carrier "didn't recognize" my name at this address. So I'm pretty frustrated, and I call the USPS general call center. The gal creates a ticket, and says my local post office will have it in the system tomorrow, and this will notify the carrier that I do, in fact, live at my address. The gal also advised me to call this post office to notify the carrier that I live here and to deliver my package to me before it's shipped back to the seller. When I tell you, this post office is the absolute WORST, I am telling no lies. I call. I sit through their stupid automated messages. Then I'm told "one moment and you'll be connected to the operator". The phone rings. And rings. And rings. And rings. For three minutes, out of fcking principle, I sat and listened to this ringing. And then? THE CALL DISCONNECTS. I called three times to make sure I wasn't crazy - each time, just after the three minute mark, the call disconnects. Absolute BS. I loooooathe that this is my post office and I'm going to have to deal with their stupidity from here on out.

There's a little gas station that's closer to me, but the USPS drop off inside didn't have the small priority boxes. This is a pretty large post office. There are tons of P.O. boxes. They did have self-service machine where you can handle most transactions yourself, but I was disappointed that the send package option was not currently working. That's pretty much the only reason I dropped a star. Rich seemed to be the only employee working the counter at the time, but he was quick and got us out in no time. There were 5 of us in line. When it was my turn, he asked the usual questions about the box I was mailing (any liquids perishables, etc.) and then asked if I wanted to purchase a book of stamps. I politely declined but was curious to know how much a single stamp is nowadays (I haven't sent snail mail in a loooooong time)!! He said the current rate is $.78 per stamp and that there's talk about the price hiking up to ninety-something cents in the future. Yikes!!! I remember when they were a quarter each!! My, how times have changed... Anyway, I'd definitely return to this Scottsdale location. There's a good size parking lot outside although I can imagine it getting packed during the holidays. 4 solid stars!
