I've been here twice this week. This isn't the normal post office that I visit though. There's ample parking. It could use some landscaping around the building. It looks bad in certain spots. Both times I've been here, there has only been ONE clerk at the desk during lunch time (around 12 pm), which ends up with a long line out the door. That is ridiculous, but I had no choice but to wait it out. Once it was my turn, I was sure to be quick because I didn't want to cause anyone else to have to wait longer than they needed to. All in all, it's a post office. They clearly need to hire more folks, but the 1 person at the desk each time did the best they could with everything on their shoulders. I sent a gift via FedEx to my sister who is in a nursing home on the same street as the post office. I tracked it all the way until I saw that we would need to call the local post office as they could not deliver because no one was there. This is crazy and really a false statement. I called the facility which has someone at the desk especially during the day. I could call the post office and arrange to pick it up or arrange for another delivery but it's Saturday and they are closed. First this is Sunnybrook Rehab patients live there and she can't get out of bed on her without help so second she can't go pick it up. I am upset because it's clear no one tried to make the delivery. read more

THEY STEAL PACKAGES! And then after when you call to try and figure out what is going on..THEY TRY AND SCAM YOU. Please explain to me how, I called them after receiving an official email about how my package was delivered...even though it never was and they had called me a few days prior to admit to that...and all of a sudden I get a very strange email about how "my package was being returned to sender" there's a link in the email to "pay for the shipping" to get it shipped to my house. You mean to tell me an employee didn't use my information to try and scam me???? I have NEVER received anything like that in my life. I called 18 times. And every single time I was hung up on without anyone helping me. On the 19th time I got someone who knew they messed up...they refused to give me their name and the name of the man who originally took my call (claimed me was a supervisor... was who I was on the phone with when I got the scale email) If you have issues with them I suggest you escalate to USPS Consumer and Industry Contact Office so they can investigate the theft that has been going on for YEARS. read more

The service @USPS @USPSHelp is getting worse and worse at this post office. I have a tracking number for a package that was delivered to the post office with their street level addressing service. Each time I go in for a package, the clerks act like they never heard of that service before, and will say, "You can't get a package delivered here like that." I have a package that was delivered to them on Friday according to the tracking number, and nobody seems to be able to locate it. I called the post office today and spoke with Barbara. The first time I called and said I was looking for a package, she just abruptly put me on a silent hold for 20 minutes. So I hung up called back. When I called Back, Barbara was rude, and then just abruptly hung up on me. I have been renting a box there for almost 20 years, and the service is going downhill. The nicest person that works there is Jo Ann, but she stays in the back most of the time. The people that work the front counter need to take a break from customer service for a while. read more

I absolutely loathe the associates who carry my mail. They are lazy and incompetent. The people I've had luck dealing with inside the Post Office, however, seem to actually know what they're doing. My carrier changes on a weekly basis (I'm not kidding - two years here, and I've never seen a carrier last longer than a week), and none of them can actually follow the pick-up requests you schedule online! They either don't come at all (this has happened 5+ times now), or they come late (after 9pm - what on Earth?? I didn't think they worked that late!!). When I call and complain, no one seems to understand why they keep missing my house or why the carrier's can't seem to pick up packages that weigh less than a pound! Convenience, my butt. The pony express was better than this crap hole. Honestly, I've been there less than five times and each time was worse than the last. My first trip out yander to this here old rodeo of a post office was greeted by screaming coworkers cussing each other out on the other side of a closed door. "What in tarnation?" I wanted to ask during the 5-10 minutes I stood preparing two packages but neither clerk seemed too concerned. I wanted to skedaddle but the line was long. Two women and a terrible mediator went at it 5 feet from the propriety mail station. It ended with one storming out and the others talking about her once she left. Yeehaw! My next trip started as I went to pick up a package that was never delivered to me because I "wasn't home". Funny how the employees here have X-ray vision and can tell I you're home or not. Well, I left home on the range and drove to the office as the slip said. They searched for 15 minutes and the desk clerk stated he would try to fine out what was going on and left my number for a manager and told me to call at 4:30. Duh! It closes at 4:30 so I called at 4:00 instead. A different employee said they would figure it out and call me back. Never did. Finally got the manager the next day and he stated he lives a few houses down from me and would deliver it this afternoon. The mail was in my box when I got home. Well, I had a pleasant experience at this post office. I went in after lunch and the place was dead. I've never been the only customer in the Post Office before. This post office is easy to find and the lot offers ample parking. I had to drop off a pre-paid package and ship another one. The woman helping me at the counter was friendly and efficient. I've been in Raleigh going on 3 years, and the number of problems I've had with this specific post office are innumerable. The most recent problem occurred 2 weeks ago, where, while expecting 2 very important pieces of mail, while also having a sympathy card waiting for pick up, I had no mail delivery or pick up for 3 days. I receive precious little mail, so for all I know this happens all the time, but this time, I was anticipating mail and had a card in the mail for a mom who'd lost her son. Only by dealing with USPS consumer affairs was this problem resolved. Like others here, I too have received the "Sorry we missed you" card on occasions when I was home, in fact this has happened many times. Another instance, I had mailed by certified mail 2 letters, and they came back undeliverable - 2 and 3 months later. What this disaster of a post office needs is a competent manager. There is no excuse for the rude employees there, that relish putting you on hold for up to an hour, then mysteriously disconnect the line, or just flat out hang up on you. And there are a few liars there. One woman, when I asked to speak to a supervisor, claimed she was the supervisor, but wouldn't give me her name, and then hung up on me. All of these actions are unacceptable and corrective action is long overdue. In short, this place is a disaster. read more

Dropped off a U.S.P.S. Priority Mail package on 1/16/2016. The clerk printed a counter receipt showing that it was "accepted". 10 days later the package still has not been delivered or located. The tracking number shows that it was accepted at 10:38 a.m. on 1/16/2016. It was never scanned again and it still hasn't been delivered or scanned. Check it out for yourself: the tracking number is 9405909699937246832059 . Attempted to call the post office at 919-255-6013 but only get a busy signal. This is common and I have an idea why. It's off the hook with some caller patiently waiting on the other end. I called again on 1/26/2016 at 12:33 p.m. An employee named Paulette answered and told me to hold on for a minute, sat the phone down (not on hold either), and did not come back for 33 minutes. I timed it. I explained that the package was accepted at the front desk. It has been 10 days without any scans. Paulette informed me that it was out of the local post offices hands. The package most likely was scanned and then placed on a truck. That's it. She instructed me to call Consumer Affairs at 919-420-5230. I did and guess what. No one answered. I left several messages and guess what. No one has returned the call even 24 hours later. I had also previously opened a case with U.S.P.S. customer support. I am told the case cannot be solved. Only that the package was scanned when accepted at Sunnybrook and was never scanned again. Today makes 11 days since Sunnybrook accepted it. I would like for someone there to attempt to locate it. That would really be "nice". It would be a huge service to the Raleigh community on the Sunnybrook side of town, including New Bern Avenue, to get the Sunnybrook post office working in a way that serves the community effectively. Let's shed some light on the Sunnybrook post office by sharing all of your experiences there, at the Raleigh Sunnybrook post office, good or bad. Sunnybrook post office gets worse and worse. They could close it down and have the mail delivered by distracted toddlers and we'd get better service. Another day, another package not delivered with no attempt by the carrier to do anything but stick a 'Sorry we missed you!' notice in the mailbox and drive off. Sorry YOU missed the lights on in the house, the car in the driveway, and the doorbell to ring, mail carrier. Unlike you, I don't get paid to make sure the package gets to my house so it would be nice if you could do your complete job once in a while rather than refusing to deliver anything heavier than a letter so the people on your route have to do it for you. read more

This is our "home" post office, and we have had multiple problems with it. Service has not been a strong point, even by post office standards. We have had problems with mail forwarding, mail holding, and delivery of packages. A couple of times when we have ordered stamps, it has taken weeks to have them delivered. Unfortunately, I can't escape from much of this, but I'm going to check out some of the other nearby post offices for when I have to do mailings for a more pleasant (and competent) one. read more

I'll be the first to admit that when it comes to the USPS, you shouldn't expect much; however, even if the Sunnybrook unit had a goal of getting things right a quarter of the time as a perfect score, they would have failed miserably in my book. Let me think of a few descriptors for the staff here: Lazy, incompetent, shiftless, illiterate, uncaring, fly-by-night, forgetful, lazy, incompetent and lazy. Even after numerous complaints to the district office, Postmaster General and the PIO, nobody could get Ms. Baron and her staff to get off their butts to actually strive to get things right at least 15% of the time which is a lofty goal. read more

Well isn't that why I told you I was calling?? Not only are they poor over the phone, but I had to hunt my own package down that I've been waiting over a week b/c the carrier did not leave the "attempt to deliver" notice that the website said he or she did. When I finally spoke to the supervisor she was in such a hurry to try to tell me that my package was going to be returned to the sender b/c they could only hold it for 15 days, that I guess she didn't hear me say that the original date that the package was attempted to be delivered was 7 days ago. First of all, I am a postal service employee. I know what good customer service is. And because I do work for the postal service, I know what the rules are. And above all rules, satisfying the customer is number one. Went there today to pick up a package that was attempted yesterday. The noticed that was left clearly stated "package can be picked up on October 31st after 9am." It's a Saturday and the retail counter doesn't open until 10am. I also know that there is a service door that you can buzz to pick up packages. This is primarily for packages that can't fit in the po boxes. So I'm thinking "this is nice. I don't have to wait until the retail counter is open. ". Wrong. I get there at 9:15 and the little rude guy says "we don't open until 10 on Saturdays. ". I'm like but the notice that was left has today's date and clearly said 9, which was hand written. It clearly was human error. But the error was on their end. At this point , he should have apologized. Explain it was an error. Got my package since the error was the reason I got there so early. And then find the carrier and make them aware of their mistake so it doesn't happen again. I ended up waiting until 10. Computers were down but another employee took the initiative to get my package. read more

I just received the worst experience with customer service of my life here today during my lunch. I left out embarrassed and in tears for the way I was treated. I am trying to find a way to report this employee. She does not deserve to work with the public if that is how she treats others. This was all because I did not have 2 pieces of tape to put on my package for a first class envelope. She refused to give me tape; and would only offer for me to buy a $4.00 roll of tape or send it priority mail. Although I had a reprinted label first class-that cost me nothing to mail since a company email me the label. This is actually for the area around Creedmore and Millbrook as that's where I dropped my mail. THEY LOST 3 BIG INVOICES over the course of 2 weeks and delayed my getting paid making it difficult to pay my bills. The Raleigh Post Office also lost 2 pieces of mail sent from my sister. One had a $20 bill and the other a $20 check. I tried to call USPS Customer Service and the wait time is 50 minutes. So I tried to call the Post Master General and her mail box is full and no one answers the phone. I've also had wrong mail delivered to my home and packages go disappearing. I gave redelivery instructions because my wife's birthday present was not delivered because there was "no safe place" to leave the package, like I dunno ON MY FRONT PORCH! Sunnybrook office has such poor service. I have mailed two letters that required 1 stamp, that entailed documents that were important to ME. 1 of the documents went here in Raleigh and another one was going to Connecticut. NEITHER of them have reached their destinations. Speaking with a representative name Jackie. She seemed extremely unconcerned and pushed me off to consumer affairs. I was told by both parties because it was not certified it could not be tracked. There should be a better explanation to both. The service received in Connecticut is A1 compared to this Ghetto Crap!! There should be some reconsideration to the hiring practice b/c this post office is not reliable. What's the purpose of buying stamps if everything can't reach it's destination. I wonder is the person picking the mail up from the box dropping the mail in the garbage b/c that's how I feel. I've never had such poor service from the post office.
