I visited the PO yesterday in Springfield, NJ, Tuesday, Aug. 20 and the teller was Lovita. I am giving her 5 stars because of her professionalism & expertise in working me navigating a money order. At 74 yrs old, this was my 1st time using a money order. So you know how important this was to me that this was handled properly and expeditiously. Lovita went 'over and above' handling my experience and secured the proper postage. She made my experience a 'journey to remember' ! ! ! read more

I love sending packages whether people want them or not. Whether it's a gift, invitations, a return, or a prank, they've handled it. For over ten years, I've dealt with the same 3 tellers who have always treated me like their only customer. They never rushed or disrespected me regardless of the simplicity or complexity of my requests. I usually visit around 10am or in the afternoon without incident and even with 5 people in front of me, I've been out within 5 minutes. At times though, when the line's even longer and only one teller's around, I wish they would hail another. Sometimes they run out of certain stamp designs so I hit up their online store at usps.com and receive my order within a week. This location's flagpole makes it easier to spot and it's also a Poke Stop so if you play, you can hit it when you get there and when you leave, then slap it around some more depending on your wait time. Parking's plenty and if you're just dropping off letters, you can drive right up to the mailboxes like a drive-thru then be on your merry way. read more

The staff in Springfield are great, and I hate most USPS locations. Really nice people work there, it's great. Only negative is no automated machines so waiting is annoying when someone is getting passports done and there is only one person working. read more

Came for passport. I was there ahead of my appointment and they let someone cut in front of me. We had to wait extra as they helped the person that they let cut ahead. Then I gave them the papers they wanted and she insinuated that I slammed the papers. I placed the papers in the desk for her. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend them for customer service. Very disappointed in the USPS system because of their poor customer service. read more

When the post office is working it is fine. But seems they often have issues with either under staffing, down computers, and they always open after 9am. They at best open some time after 9am when they are supposed to be open. I would say they have some issue about 30% of the time. Usually it is not to big of a deal but for instance today they were supposed to be open at 9am but put up signs saying they won't be open till 10am. Still. 50/50 chance that will be true. read more

The workers are nice enough I suppose, could be a lot nicer, but they are busy and long lines can be frustrating. If you call that horrible 800 Post Office line? Prepare to have the recording ruin your day, because it tells you nothing and goes on and on about buying stamps (who needs information about buying stamps!? They sell stamps at CVS and other places!) and I would give that horrible 800 Post Office information line a half a star if that! Seriously, is it that expensive to hire an actual breathing and talking human being to actually answer a phone and take real questions? So, you wind up having to go to the Post Office because the 800 number is useless. And wait on the long line with many others who just need one freaking question answered. read more

This is the worst post office ever, I have been in line for 15 min with only 2 ladies behind the counter the line is about 12 people long and one of them with a great attitude just put up the sign next window and went into the back. This location is waste of tax payer dollars and should be closed. The folks working here are rude, and do not care. read more

Generally awful, but their latest takes the prize. Shipped a package out of Staples via USPS Parcel post on 12/17 with an expected delivery date of 12/22. The postal carrier picked it up that day but it didn't get to the actual post office until TWO DAYS later, which was a Saturday. Needless to say, these Christmas presents will arrive on December 26th. WAY. TO. GO. You guys. read more

For the second time in a year, the Springfield Post Office has delivered my local tax payment to a private home instead of Town Hall. Luckily, both times it was received by a friend who notified me and then graciously took it to Town Hall for me. Lesson learned: pay by credit card or hand deliver your tax payments. read more

The actual post office is great. The workers are helpful and efficient, especially LaVita and Debby. However, the awful mail carriers we have had to deal with were present at our old house and our new one. In our old house, our mail carrier, Bob, smoked while on the job and every time I would order clothes, I would pull them out of the package and the would wreak of cigarette smoke. We complained and the issue was resolved but that's still no excuse. Then, when we moved into our new house about 5-6 months ago and our mail carrier, Sheila, is absolutely dreadful. She has refused to deliver our mail on multiple occasions and her excuse was that my Grandma's car was parked too close to the mailbox, for reference it was at least 15 feet away. In addition to this, she was blatantly rude to my mother saying, "if you block my mailbox, I ain't gon' deliver yo mail!" My mom complained to the post office and they "spoke" with her. (btw I'm not a lame 30 year old guy who lives with his parents, I'm a 15 year old who is in multiple Honors English Classes) anyway, the next day she again didn't deliver our mail, so my stepdad went out to see her the next day and she called my mom a bitch for reporting her to the post office, also telling my stepdad "yo wife, she ain't such a nice woman." Of course, we were beyond enraged but there were no more incidents for a couple months, thankfully. But, this past week we went on vacation, and when we came back there was no mail, my mom had put it on hold, having it delivered on Saturday, the day we came back home. However, Monday and Tuesday came and went without any mail delivery from Sheila. On Tuesday night, my mom called the post office, and they were very apologetic calling Sheila's behavior unacceptable and rude. It had to be hand delivered to us by this nice woman, with her later telling us that it was in Sheila's mailbox for three straight days. She is an awful mail carrier and I pray to god that she is fired. read more

Parking behind the post office is easy and plenty. The teller behind the counter was the most helpful teller I have ever had. She double checked my passport application for me and made sure everything was in order before I mailed it off. The inside of the building was very clean. read more

I went five minutes before closing on a Friday afternoon. There were two people working who were all smiles and 3 people in front of me. The line moved quickly. I don't doubt the negative experiences other people have had here but I'm sure the time of day matters for what kind of service you'll get. read more
