I get understaffing can lead to long waits, but if I can be patient, so can the staff, and the lady that helped me definitely wasn't. Left us saying she "Had to go to lunch," but then came back less than two minutes later. Not sure what that was about. Maybe a lie and then she went back on it? I don't know. Then she began rudely hurrying us by waving her arms frantically and giving us attitudes when we had questions about delivering our mail. Very rude and disgusting behavior. Something's off with this place. Post office staff in other places have always been so nice, yet this place (based on other reviews) seems to consistently have issues. Replacing their staff is definitely in order. Very uncomfortable experience overall. read more

Ever since Maplewood's post office moved down the street to their current location, this post office has gone from good to very bad. You will always be waiting, regardless of the time of day you come to this location. They are understaffed - there is room for 3 employees, but there will only be one person sitting at the desk, and usually they are very chatty with everyone, making the wait longer than it is. On top of it, they are rude if you aren't prepared when you arrive at the desk. They should close this branch and have patrons go to Millburn or Short Hills. read more

Locked the doors earlier than the hours posted. I was there 5 minutes before 6. Even when I told them all I needed was to access my mailbox in the lobby, they wouldn't open the door for me. They would rather chitchat amongst themselves. read more

The female clerk is rude and lazy. Does not want to open the post office during the scheduled hours and spends time chatting on the phone while a line of customers wait outside. Clearly more interested in giving attitude than doing her job. Vauxhall is much better but tough to park. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Every time I come to the maplewood post office with my task trained service animal, I am told no pets are allowed. I explained that this is a medical alert service animal and I could have a severe medical episode and was completely dismissed. The workers here need to be updated on the ADA guidelines for service animals and access. I did not oh thousands of dollars for my dog to be able to detect and respond to medical episodes for a cranky postal office worker to be rude. Seriously, do better. read more

Clean and friendly, I'd give it 3 or 4 stars just for that. And they always are helpful. But it's the hours that push this PO to stars - 9:30 to 6:30 during the week and 10 to 4 on Saturday. They are open when no other nearby PO is. Very convenient. read more

This is a great post office! Seriously...I know...people inherently don't like the post office, thanks Ned Flanders! But this one is great. Let's start with the hours! 9:30-6:30 on weekdays and 10-4pm on Saturday. Those are amazing for a post office. I'm so used to them closing at 4:30 on weekdays and 1 on Saturdays. Next, it is neat and, at least while I was there, immaculately clean. They have all the packing products you'll ever need and even tape sitting out for you to use (to be fair that was probably not provided by USPS, but more likely a kind soul who left their tape for others to use.) The employees are very nice, friendly, and helpful too. The only negative was they only had 2 windows open the week before Christmas, so the lines were kinda long. But I don't blame Maplewood for that, I blame congress for not funding them properly. Overall, my favorite post office! Don't go here, I don't want the lines to get too long after my review goes viral. read more

Friendly staff members, quick service and definitely not drab. Parking is plentiful in the Public parking spaces but it can get filled up with Nyc commuters and there is also time limits depending on time of day. read more

This is hands down the best post office in the local area. The hours are excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only shortcoming is that they don't answer the phone which can be annoying if you want to ask a question. But overall the service is great, the facility is bright and clean and the staff does a really good job. read more
