Came here during my lunch break drop off a pre paid package for the first time. I thought it would be in and out like at my local post office, I was overwhelmed when I saw the huge line of over 30 people waiting to be seen as I wouldn't have time before my break was over. I left and looked for a local fed ex to drop off my package as it had postage paid already. Unfortunately the closest Fed Ex is Union which is out of my way so I had no choice but to go back to the post office and forgo eating lunch. I walk back inside and a lovely postal worker asked if I needed help, she scanned the package and printed a receipt right then and there! What! Awesome!! Worst post office I've ever been to had an appointment scheduled for 9:45 got there at 9:20 waited in the line to the window, the women told me to wait by the first window and that the person who does passports would be there shortly. Waited 20 minutes no one showed up went down to the other window to get some help, they go to the back for another 20 minutes until a lady comes to the window and asks for my appointment confirmation in which I show her my 9:45 time, they tell me to wait around for a little bit, after another 20 minutes I wait in line again to see what's going on just to find out that they have no clue what time the person is going to be there. Could've saved me an hour just by telling me they're not in today but all of them proceeded to lie to my face besides the last women at the window. Terrible place. read more

Couriers are unreliable for delivering packages. I've had to pick up every package I've had mailed to me at this post office because of some "issue" when there's no signature needed or it isn't even a highly priced item. Wait times are long inside the post office and if you're not a current resident you can forget about using your regular ID, just bring your passport if you have one. Otherwise the employees are nice and know how to do their job correctly. read more

Not sure what the hell is going on with this raggedy post office in Elizabeth on north broad st. I'm not receiving all of my mail. most horrible service I've ever seen. I get an daily from the post office email which I signed up for this service that's let's me know what mail is coming & packages is coming. There is a certified mail I NEVER received nobody rang my door bell piece of shit didn't even leave a yellow notice letting me know I have certified mail that need to be picked up unbelievable. The only way I knew about the certified mail is because of the daily email I get. Thank god for that service that works. Definitely going in today to put in a complaint with a supervisor. Past few months, my mails have been getting destroyed, thrown on the sidewalk or on my stairs I have videos and photos of this nasty mailman throwing my mails, and the post office isn't doing anything about it. The staff are desensitized from working there for ever and lack training to run this office right and professionally. You get attitude the second you walk in and no explainations on anything, only the ignorant postal worker barking at you. Chris Rock in a early 2000's stand up had a joke about black supermarkets and white supermarkets. How white supermarkets felt so welcoming. The doors worked and there was fresh produce. But in the black supermarket, the door may just hit you and it's always depressing. Well, that is how I feel about the Elizabeth post office. I thought I hated going to the DMV. This post office is one of the worst. Most of the people are rude and there's no sense of direction. No signs that say where one is to stand. This place may look nice but the service was horrible. They rushed me to explain my issues and weren't helpful at all. Also, I didn't realize I had to wait on a bell to be assisted, so I walked up to the next available window. The lady scolded me in my minor mistake which was very uncalled for. Do not even bother calling since apparently there is noone available and you will be sent to voicemail or given another number to then be sent to voicemail as well. read more

When to pick up my mail and erroneously waited in the incorrect line for 20 min because there were no signs telling you where you should wait for pickup and worst of all I had to make a new line because the clerk wouldn't tell her co-worker that I already waited in line. This place needs management that cares about the citizens and provide good customer service, but above all put signs so people know where to make the line since the clerks are no help. read more

Very busy but fast and good service. Also if they notice that the line is getting too long, they add another clerk to speed up the line.

Lowest star I could give was a 1 star. No option for zero stars. This post office is by far the worst I have experienced ever. Package has been out for delivery since 8 and it's 30 min before deliveries are over and still nothing. On top of that, calling the post office was no help at all. Called three times. First two times there was no answer. Third time I heard someone pick up, press a few buttons and then hang up on me. If any manager from this post office can see this review please fix the way things are ran at this facility. read more
