I have lived in Sparta, NJ for over 22 years and have used the postal services of the Sparta post office for my entire duration of stay. To say the staff is excellent, courteous and helpful would be an understatement. Couple months back I was trying to ship items that had to be enclosed in a box. Normally post offices do not provide tape and packing supplies but the gentleman at the counter gave me tape and was courteous. All in all I couldn't have asked for a better post office and staff. Sent priority mail, express shipping and still haven't received it. Coming up on 5 days so far. If you're looking for a company that will help you with your issues, this certainly is not one of those. Be ready to jump through hoops to find out where your package is located. Customer support request? Don't worry, they send you an "I'm sorry" and say the issue was resolved without any other contact. They will also say that it's your fault and you should've paid to upgrade the insurance policy. This is not directed at one store in particular, but the way the business is run in general. If you need something next day, you're better off going out of your way to get it yourself. The employees at this store in particular were very polite, and apologized for the inconvenience. read more

This is the worst post office I ever dealt with. They never answer their phone, and when you go in, there's always a long line an only one person working. They missed delivered 2 deliveries this week and when you try to get information, their like, I'm the only one here and I have no time for you. Just poor customer service. The Government should consider to "Defund the Post Office".....lol read more

This is the worst Post Office I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Cards better be mailed out 10 days before the receivers birthday or it'll be late. (And I'm mailing it FROM the post office - not my mailbox). You'll stand in a line of 15 people with one person working. Oh, other 'employees' will walk into that area, but just to pick up a piece of gum, or to joke with the one working employee, and then they'll walk into the back again. I also work in town. When my regular mailman (Alex - who is GREAT) is out the 'employee' filling in doesn't even bother to deliver our mail. I see them walking up and down the street but they don't come into my office. We're stuck because we HAVE to use this Post Office but they're horrible and they have been for the past 30 years I've lived in this town. If you have the time, go to Ogdensburg, where they actually do their jobs. read more

This truly is the worst Post Office I've ever dealt with. They have return to sender several pieces of important mail, even though all the mailing information is correct. I call and get told that "we" wouldn't do that! But you did. I was then told that because the Forwarding info had expired, they wouldn't forward. WHAT forwarding order??? I've had this Post Office box for almost 10 years. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated incident. I've had packages returned, as well. I get the same person (who is not pleasant). No sorry, not suggestions, no resolution. Just "we wouldn't do that. I don't think I will be renewing my box. No sense, if I can't get my mail. One star is too many!!! read more

Worst post office ever! All within the last 2 months they lost 2 bills that I mailed out and then lost the check that I gave them for my PO Box. When they finally found the check (which was probably laying around somewhere) they stamped it and said it was late and charged me a $22 late fee. When I called about it, Eric the postmaster, who is almost never around, was not helpful at all. Basically whatever they do or say is right and the customer is always wrong and lying. No wonder people don't use the USPS, they are awful. UPS and Fedex have much better track records and take better care of packages and letters that have to go out. read more
