Quick friendly service every time. Scheduled to renew my daughters passport, we were in and out within 10 minutes. The staff was friendly. I'm used to doing things in NYC, where workers are miserable and mumble answers like they're annoyed. Love my Newton PO. read more

I think most of the clerks are lazy and rude, and they always ask me what is specifically in my packages, not just the standard question about hazardous material. I once told them a mug was in the package along with some papers. The package was shipped Priority, arrived very late at the destination and the mug was missing. I drive out of my way now to another post office if I need to mail packages. Very unpleasant to go into the post office in Newton. read more

The worst service I ever ever experienced I sent an express mail to a large business .The carrier did not know where the receptionist was or the offices needless to say after 2 attempts the carrier made ( to a wrong location ) . Carrie did not do their job ! There was a number listed on the express mail did not bother to call it ! My express mail was to be returned on the 17th . It was not ! Sat in the post office for 5 days after .The clerk would not listen when I originally was trying to explain where the carrier was to go . She cold not be bothered and was rude! I worked as a carrier for 10 years and have never seen anything like this .Calling the Post master to let him know hat has transpired and requesting a refund from the port office! read more

Delivery is beyond terrible! Leaving box deliveries by the mailbox on ground on a very busy road is not considered a good delivery! I have had deliveries taken and once marked delivered by mailbox you loose out on reclaiming your money or merchandise. I have tried to have all my deliveries come UPS or Fedex now but occasionally still have to deal with their incompetence. I don't understand how they can get away with the lack of service. read more

I'm a property manager at a business and one day my mail was not picked up/delivered. When I called to inquire why, I was told "I don't know, it was a different carrier." A very poor excuse. It's a shame I can't even count on the US Postal service to perform their job correctly. read more

Always a line, never a smile, employees stingy with information, everyone in slow motion. Called this P.O. to find out if they processed passports (they do) take passport photos (they do) Great, I'll be right over. Drove to Newton, parked, waited on line approx. 10 min. When i got to the counter, was told "Oh, we stop taking photos at 2:00" (it was 2:35) How hard would it have been to tell me that information when I was asking about a passport? Ended up going to Walgreens Rx (by Duncan Donuts) for a passport photo and got fast service, great pictures and an employee with a pleasant helpful attitude (smile too). read more

On December 22 2017 I paid $11.65 to have a package delivered to GA. I found it on my front porch last night OPENED with a sticker that read "no Postage". I went to the office today where Claudia Martinez (who had handled my initial transaction) promptly went and hid in the back. Her supervisor Angel Velancourt told me that he couldn't reach my mail carrier and that the USPS doesn't keep records. He further told me that Chuck Fantasia, the post master, was "in and out". I then paid the same price for the same shipment and watched as the apathetic clerk CLEARLY put a copy of the transaction into her register. It is little wonder that the USPS is a failed institution that needs to be subsidized in order to provide such paltry service. read more

I live in Newton and have the worst mail carrier. He is clearly counting it down until retirement. We used to have an awesome carrier Nan until they changed routes. Almost every time I schedule a package pickup it's left on my porch. To add insult to injury I get the email confirmation it's been picked up along with the notice to carrier left in my mailbox about the package pickup. Returning from vacation it's 50/50 whether mail delivery resumes as requested or not. It's your job to pickup and deliver mail...not complicated. read more

If you have to ship out anything, DO NOT COME HERE. I've never been to a post office that had such rude customer service in my life! I came in one morning to ship out a package because I sell clothes online, the buyer had pre-purchased a first class pack. Now I don't work at the post office so I didn't know you can't send first class in a priority but as a customer this could have been explained to me in a nice way. But when I got to the desk the woman automatically said you can't send this you have to re-print the postage, so then I asked which package can I use to send this and all she did was point to the first class packages. So I ask how much do they range and her response I don't know you can look yourself, then I responded to her saying you do not need to be so rude I'm asking a question, I'm a customer... It's your job to tell me the answer. Then I asked her name & said I would call her manager, and her response was "ooh I'm scared" mind you shes at least in her 40's-50's responding as she's 11 years old. I'm 32 and I run a business and if I had a employee who spoke this way to a customer they would be fired no explanations given! I don't understand the customer service in Newton,Nj at all I feel like they all need to take a class on customer service etiquette. These people act like they're high above when they are working a regular 9-5 job, you're no better than anyone!!!!!!! That's probably why they're so rude, miserable and unhappy but guess what that's not my fault you don't have a education and you have to work for someone else! It's disgusting! read more
